Parent Volunteers Needed! I always have parents asking me how they can help, so I have put together some volunteer opportunities for you to help us prepare for a new school year. If you would be willing to help in any of the following capacities, please let me know! You can send me an e-mail or call the band hall. Uniform bag and poncho washing This year was an exceptionally rainy/muddy year which has left our ponchos and uniforms bags extra stinky! There are over 100 of each of these that could use a good washing. If you are willing to take a few home and clean them up, let me know. Uniform Fittings As the band gets bigger, uniform fittings become more difficult and more time consuming. I am looking for individuals that can pin pants, hem (by hand), or iron. It would be ideal if you could be available during the uniform fitting times listed on the summer band schedule. If we can t get everything done during those times, we will also need some people willing to hem pants or iron at home. The more help we have, the faster the fittings will go! Cool snacks for summer band Our dedicated band students will spend 4 weeks of the hot summer working to make our band awesome. I would love to be able to offer them a cool treat after a hot practice. If you are willing to help out by providing a snack or coming to the end of practice to pass out snacks, let me know. Some snack ideas include root beer floats, popsicles, watermelon, Gatorade, or freeze pops. We could do one for each practice (12) or one for each week (4). Contact me if you would like to help, and I will put together a calendar for volunteers. Mend/Stabilize the band tower Are you handy? Our band tower is in need of some repairs to make it safe. Please let me know if you are willing and able to help!
