CRUSADER S CORNER Platinum Sponsor Gold Sponsors Silver/Bronze Sponsors Bronze Term 2: It has been a busy start to the season for Arndell s rugby teams in recent weeks with the Arndell Crusaders beginning their season, along with a range of Rugby 7s events taking place. The Crusaders, led by Ben Tagg for 2017 made a positive start to their campaign with a 39-7 win over William Clarke at the end of Term 1. New recruit Dally Barham was exceptional and Ben Malcolm was very consistent as we ran away victors in the second half. Their second fixture saw a bus trip up to Blue Mountains Grammar where we faced a much bigger side. Ben Tagg was brilliant and Will Livingstone made a very positive contribution, scoring two tries to see Arndell come away with a 29-14 upset win. The boys then stayed around for afternoon tea with the BMGS players, a very positive experience. At the end of Term 1 our Open Girls Rugby 7s team made their debut against William Clarke College in a double header. From the outset the Arndell girls were too strong and fast and scored regularly along with some brutal defence to beat William Clarke 76-12. They are hopeful of getting another game this term and continuing their good form. Arndell has also won the u16 and Opens Hills Zone Rugby gala days in the past fortnight. Both these teams went through their respective events undefeated to take out the Championships. These events were actually hosted by Arndell and were great days of rugby. Special mention to the following boys who were rewarded with selection in the Hills Zone Representative teams: U16: Henry Peters, Jordan Galea, Dally Barham, Reilly McGregor, Will Livingstone, Ben Malcolm, Justin Southall, Cohen Ogden. Opens: Ben Tagg, Will Conn, Josh Muller, Robeson Burns, Louis Wouters. The Arndell Crusaders continue their season against the Kings School 5ths this week and the U16 team will kick off their season against William Clarke. Well done to all the boys and girls playing rugby on such a positive start to 2017.

SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT HZSA Cross Country: On Friday 5 th May, 50+ students represented the College at the HZSA Cross Country Championships at Sydney International Equestrian Centre. We had some top 3 finishes with Beau Amor and Brodie White finishing 3 rd, Janaya Lee and Corey Petroff placing 2 nd in their events and Joshua Ferris winning his event and crowned 16 years champion. Those athletes and top 10 finishes go through to compete at AICES on the 5 th of June at the same venue. We are also awaiting the result of teams as we have potentially 3 or 4 teams in contention to go through. As usual our students were a credit to the College with their attitude and behaviour. We wish all those going to AICES the very best. Miss Lombardo

CIS U17 Softball: Congratulations to Reilly McGregor who represented CIS in Softball. Here he is in action during the game (batting) and with the team (back left). It is a very special achievement to be selected at CIS level. Well done Reilly!
