The following is a contract between you, your parents, and Dr. Messer, the director. By signing this contract, you are agreeing to assume a huge responsibility. 1. REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Performers will be given a detailed rehearsal schedule. All performers and crew members are expected to be fully committed to the production of The Music Man Jr. from January 8 through April 30, 2017. (Rehearsal times will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays, after school (4:15-5:15 PM). Dress rehearsals are Monday through Wednesday, April 24-26, from 4:15-6:30 PM. An open dress rehearsal is Thursday, April 27, at 4:30 PM. Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at 7 PM, and Sunday, April 30, at 3:00 PM. 2. REHEARSAL ETIQUETTE: Performers and crew members are expected to behave professionally at all rehearsals, according to the following guidelines: (Failure to comply with these guidelines could result in dismissal from the production.) Be on time and ready to rehearse at the called rehearsal time. Being ready means meeting all memorization deadlines. No food or drink is allowed in the Chorus Room or the Gymnasium EVER!! During any rehearsal, students are NOT allowed to leave the Chorus Room or the Gym without adult supervision. Also, students are expected to work quietly until they are needed on stage. Students who leave the rehearsal area without permission or who cannot work quietly will be dismissed from the production. (This requirement sometimes is THE MOST DIFFICULT for students.) The following are the ONLY excuses accepted for absences from rehearsals or performances: illness with a doctor s note or death in the family. Excessive talking while the director is working is unacceptable. Inability to focus could be a reason for dismissal from the production. Maintain a positive attitude and comments with all cast members, crew members, and the director. Positive remarks and constructive speech are the ONLY words that will be tolerated during rehearsals and performances. Adult directors or high school coaches are the ONLY ones permitted to give instructions to RCS students. RCS students dictating instructions to other RCS students is a reason for dismissal from the production. FEES: Rental fees for costumes and scripts are required for this production. If finances are a problem, please complete a Scholarship Application. 3. WORKING AT HOME: Each student is expected to rehearse at home. After-school rehearsals do not provide enough time for preparation. 4. HEALTH: We will be rehearsing and performing this musical during cold weather months. Cast/crew members will be expected to get plenty of sleep, rest, and eat healthfully to maintain strength while working on this strenuous extracurricular activity. To produce a great show, cast/crew members need to be alert, healthy, and rested. (We don t want anyone to miss rehearsals and the performances due to illness!!) 5. SCRIPTS: Students may purchase a script for Music Man Jr. for $10.00, if they want to own a copy. 6. TICKET SALES: A full audience for the production can be assured if each cast and crew member sells at least 10 tickets ($7/ticket for adults; $5/ticket for students). 7. COSTUMES: Each participating student will be encouraged to pay a $50.00 participation fee or apply for a scholarship to cover the costume or costumes appropriate for his/her role in Music Man Jr. You may add accessories to your costume to enhance the costume for your custom look, with approval from the costume directors. BOYS: Please supply your own dress shoes (tie shoes or loafers) and black dress slacks. GIRLS: Please plan to wear character shoes, flat black shoes, or black dance shoes.
