Board Members present: Bill Brusse, Judi Sittler, Rick Van Horn, Dick Stevenson, Jay Lynch, Ron Shealer, Chris Haser, Chris Hennessey and Bob Eberhart. Bill Brusse welcomed new Board Members Ron Shealer, Chris Haser and Chris Hennessey. Approval of Minutes: The draft minutes of the meeting of December 14, 2010 were approved as submitted. Treasurer s Report: Treasurer Rick Van Horn reported that as of December 31, 2009, the net worth of the Chapter was $27,811. Note that this figure does not include grant funds held in separate accounts that must be spent on habitat projects. Rick said that he had closed the Chapter s Money Market account because of increased bank service charges. Election of Officers: The Board elected the following officers for 2010: President-Judi Sittler; Vice- President Chris Haser; Treasurer Rick Van Horn; Secretary Bob Eberhart. Appointment of Committee Chairs: Committee Chairs for 2010 were appointed as follows: Banquet Committee Dick Stevenson and assistant Jim Purtell; Trout in the Classroom Ron Shealer; Habitat Bill Brusse; Watershed Watch Bob Donaldson and Ted Trostle; First Cast Ted Trostle; Program Committee ( formerly the Membership Committee) to be decided; Newsletter JohnShaffer. Rockview Land Transfer Position: After lengthy discussion, Bill Brusse moved that the Chapter should support the compromise expected from the legislators that would transfer areas of the Rockview land to PSU, the Pa. Game Commission and the Pa. Fish and Boat Commission only if each of the prospective owners would be subject to a conservation easement to be held by the ClearWater Conservancy and/or the Pa. Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources. However, the preferred position of the Chapter was that the land should be transferred to ClearWater Conservancy. Dick Stevenson seconded. The motion passed 9 to 1 with 1 abstention. Brusse, Stevenson, Sittler, Lynch, Van horn, Haser, Hennessey, Trostle(voting by proxy) and Donaldson(voting by proxy) voted aye, Eberhart voted nay, and Shealer abstained. Communications with PFBC concerning fishing tournaments held during the brown trout spawn: The ad hoc committee working on this project was planning to submit to the Board a draft proposal on the subject to PFBC. That draft has not been received. PATU will meet on January 30. Bill Brusse will attend that meeting and will speak for the Chapter on this issue if it arises. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Bob Eberhart Secretary

From the Streambank Well here we are in Mid-Winter with some saying this has been a real winter for a change. What I have not fully grasped is that the Weathermen are saying January was the warmest in 14 years...are they kidding? However, it looks like Spring is just around the corner as the trees in Florida have started to sprout new leaves. OK I know what you are thinking, but Spring has to start somewhere. The photo at the top of page 1, provided by Dick Stevenson, although not current is a great shot and I love that spot at the Rock. You can almost see the trout feeding on the little black midges. I want to say thank you to the new members of our Board of Directors. Your time, dedication, and work will be appreciated...especially appreciated by the Trout as you are their voice!!
