LOCATION DESCRIPTION The Kenyan coastline spans approximately 1,420 kms and boasts golden sandy beaches, tropical rainforest and warm Indian Ocean waters. Of the Kenyan beach locations Diani is one of the premier tourist destinations in the world. Diani boasts flawless beaches, a coral reef with thriving marine life, ideal surf for water sports, beautiful hotels and resorts, renowned restaurants and celebrated beach clubs. Ranked 7th best beach in Africa by TripAdvisor, with a warm and tropical climate which reverse the European winters and an average temperature of 28 C, it is easy to understand the unmistakable allure of Diani. Diani can be accessed a variety of ways. The easiest and quickest way is to fly into Ukunda Airport which is approximately a 5 minute drive to the main Diani Beach Road. Ukunda is a relatively small airport with only one airstrip, although there are future plans to extend the runway. Various airline operators have daily flights from Wilson Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi (JKIA) to Ukunda. You can also fly from Wilson Airport and JKIA to Moi International Airport Mombasa and drive to Diani with a drive time of approximately 1 hour. This is a popular option for international flights coming in directly to Mombasa. It is also very common to drive directly from Nairobi to Mombasa with a drive time of approximately 9 hours. Due to the newly opened Nairobi- Mombasa Standard Gauge Railway it is also simple to travel from Nairobi to Mombasa via train on a 3 hour train journey. Situated at the southernmost end of Diani Beach, where it meets Galu Beach, Ahana enjoys a superb ocean front location with approximately 60 metres of beach frontage. It is approximately a 10 minute drive from the property to Diani Shopping Centre and Nakumatt Diani shopping complex which boast numerous banks, pharmacies and retail shops. Various popular restaurants such the famous Ali Barbour s Cave Restaurant, Leonardo s Restaurant, Sails Beach Bar & Restaurant, Nomad Restaurant, among others, are also within easy reach. Diani Hospital is also in close proximity as well as Diani International School which offers both nursery and primary education. A good number of Parks and Game Reserves are nearby such as Shimba Hills National Reserve which is approximately 40 kms from Diani Beach and home to wildlife including antelope, giraffe, buffalo, leopard and a high population of elephants. Colobus Conservation, designed to promote the protection of primates, and Diani/Chale Marine National Park and Reserve are also surrounding attractions. THE MAIN HOUSE Entry into the main house is through ornate Lamu doors which open into a foyer and the central courtyard beyond. Accommodation is arranged around the courtyard and wide walkways provide access to various areas of the house. The ground floor comprises a capacious lounge, a spacious dining room and a very large kitchen with an island, pantry and ample cabinet space. The kitchen can also easily accommodate a breakfast area and a seating area. Both the lounge and dining room open onto the covered terrace which overlooks the gardens and pool perfect for outdoor dining and the ideal place to unwind or watch the sunrise over the ocean. This floor also includes a study, 2 lavatories, a shower room and a laundry area. Access to the first floor is up a striking staircase and onto a lovely landing. The first floor comprises 4 ensuite bedrooms each with Lamu inspired bathrooms and lavish showers.
