Real St. Louis Soccer Club Rules & Policies 2017-2018 Real St. Louis Soccer Club Philosophy Real St. Louis is a select soccer club in the Greater St. Louis area that provides players with the perfect environment to learn, develop, respect and love the game of futbol. Real St. Louis strives to be different than other clubs in the St. Louis area. Our main goal is to grow and develop the individual player s skills each year and encourage teamwork and good sportsmanship. Winning is important of course, but we want to inspire our kids to play to get better and not always play to win. Real STL Parents: As parents it s important to remain positive. Even the smallest negative comments can be discouraging to a young athlete. According to Missouri Youth Soccer Association rules parents are required to sit away from players, goals, and coaches during a match. Negative comments or gestures towards officials will not be tolerated within the club. Real STL parents should represent the club in a respectable fashion by, wearing Real STL spirit wear, cheering, and helping support your team in a positive manner. Parents can also support the team by organizing healthy snacks for half time or after games. Parents should also support the coaches and promote good sportsmanship. If problems arise that cannot be mutually resolved they shall be brought to and resolved by the Club s Director. Parents should check the club website, your Team Snap account, Rainout Line, Real STL Facebook page and Twitter page before each game or practice to be informed of any delays or cancellations. On the website, coaches will nominate a M.V.P and a best goal/save for each month. We ask that parents and fans vote for their favorite candidate and the winner of each category will receive an awesome Under Armour prize. Coaches have a 24 hour rule. This means that if a parent has any concerns regarding a specific match, coaches ask that you wait 24 hours before contacting them. This gives you and the coach an appropriate amount of time to cool off and think before anything negative is said. Instead of asking a coach why this and why that, ask the coach what your child can do to improve. If you need to speak with a coach about a concern you may have, please make sure you schedule a meeting in advance either before or after practice in case coaches have prior engagements. Coaches spend only a few hours with players each week, but sometimes that s not enough. It s important that parents encourage players to practice learned skills and drills at home. Check the Real St. Louis website for videos on how to help improve players in specific areas. Please check under coaches corner, training videos, and the password is realstlvideos. By signing this policy form you are giving permission for REAL STL to post pictures or videos of your child on any of our social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, realstlsoccer.com and Go Raise Dough. Participation:

Players are expected to participate in practices and games. Parents are expected to participate by ensuring that their children are on time and picked up for both practices and games and that players have their equipment with them at all times. If a player cannot be present for a scheduled game or practice, the coach or manager should be notified by phone in advance. --too many parents only update TeamSnap giving the coach no time. Players should wear proper training gear for each practice that will be determined by your coach. This includes any Real St. Louis training shirts along with appropriate colored shorts and socks. Fundraising: Fundraisers are vital to the club s success. As a club we will offer individual/team fundraisers and 4 club fundraisers. Individual team fundraisers are optional and will be up to each team. Please note that individual team fundraisers do not replace club fundraisers. All money raised during an individual team fundraisers goes directly towards that player. Prior to any individual team fundraisers the Real STL board must be notified. All money raised during a club fundraiser goes directly towards the growth of the club. The four club fundraisers for the 2017-18 season will be:- 1. The Adam Ragsdale Tournament- August 18th-20th 2. March Mayhem Tournament- March 9-11 3. Trivia Night- Early Spring 4. Raffle Ticket Sales- This year, the three mandatory ticket sales were added to Club Fees. You have the option to keep them for a chance to win the raffle or to sell the tickets ($25) and you keep the money. As an incentive for families, additional tickets sold will have a certain amount taken off of next year s Club Fees. For every ticket after the initial 3 tickets you sell (not including the free tickets), you get $10 off next year s club fees! Age Groups Real St. Louis will abide by the age matrix posted by MYSA. Players will be allowed to try out and play for teams in older age brackets. Real St. Louis will closely follow the age matrix posted by MYSA. Players wanting to play at an older age level group than theirs will have the ability to tryout to play for teams in older age groups with approval from their current coach. Background Checks/Coaches Card Coaches are required to submit a background check via their GotSoccer account prior to receiving their MYSA coach s card. Real St. Louis reserves the right to request additional background checks or drug testing for coaches, manager and trainers as deemed necessary. Each team will be provided with 2 coaching cards. If a team decides to have more than 2 coaches on their roster, $25.00 will be charged for any additional coaching cards. Club Fees Real STL Club Fees cover participation including: loan of uniforms, player registrations, field rental, administration costs, TeamSnap, Rainout Line, winter training rental and field rental. Uniforms should not be defaced in any manner. It is the responsibility of the player or team to replace any lost, stolen or damaged uniforms. Club fees allow the club to loan players the following uniform components each year that a team plays with Real St. Louis. Only after two complete years, players are able to keep their uniforms. Any player that leaves Real STL before their two years is required to return the full uniform set to their coach. Any player that does not turn in their uniform before the two years will not be released from Real STL Soccer Club and will be subject satisfy these Rules and Policies. Real STL has all rights to the REAL STL Logo. Our logo should never be recreated or reprinted without the Board of Director s approval. Real STL teams have the option to add players names on the back. This will be an individual cost for each player. The club will not provide this addition. Please contact Nacho Novas if interested.
