Chapter money and member s efforts have been utilized by doing the following projects: Installed Know The Difference and Eurasian Milfoil signs at Vilas and Oneida County Lakes. Purchased and distributed 50,000 Know The Difference license holders. Members trained in boater safety offered classes throughout Vilas and Oneida Counties. Support Kids Fishing days with money and personnel. Donated to the Ben Bendricks Scholarship Fund. Purchased 10 handicap piers for various lakes. Assisted financially with improvements of boat landings throughout Vilas and Oneida Counties. Financial support to Three Lakes Fish & Wildlife Improvement Assoc. Financial support to Trophy Lake Research Project by the DNR Financial support for stocking bluegills in the Eagle River Chain. Donated half the cost of publishing Muskies, Inc. History Book. Stocking of over $50,000 worth of muskies in area lakes Contributed financially to new park and dock on Yellow birch Lake. Hosted state and international functions. Host of the Spring Classic Muskie Tournament on the Eagle River Chain and the Fall Classic Muskie Tournament in Three Lakes. Sponsor the $1,000 Headwaters Chapter of Muskies Inc. Memorial Scholarship at the Natural Resources School at UW Stevens Point, WI. The Headwaters Chapter has spent over $1 million in the last several years on the above projects!! The Headwaters Chapter was the recipient of the Wis. Conservation Congress Sports Organization of the Year Award for 2013. Their positive involvement in our chapter s events, have made us one of Muskies Inc. strongest chapters. I have been re-elected President, and am excited to say that together under our leadership we will continue our involvement in our area by adding 2 New events for next year: Co-sponsoring Eagle Rivers Kids Fishing Day (Kids Guides Day) July 13th and the 41 st Annual Headwaters Chapter Paul s Pro Am Musky Tournament September 15, 16 & 17 th. Minutes from Dec. 7th Directors Meeting 3 Motion to Approve November minutes: Dale P. 2 nd : Carol H. Treasurer s Report. Glenn was not present so Bill J. handed out the complete report. BMO Checking Account Opening Balance: $36,370.18 Income: $2,435.00 Expenses: $4,697.02 Balance: $34,108.16 Motion to approve Treasurer s Report: Jim H. 2 nd : Andy H. Regional VP. No Report Wisconsin Muskie Club Alliance. Jim H. attended a recent Alliance meeting. 15 clubs were represented, and there were 20 people in attendance. Some of the highlights of that meeting included news that 4,400 Muskies will be stocked into Green Bay. Also, the Spooner Hatchery Fish Biologist is helping with a new Adopt a Muskie Program. People can pay $5 to adopt a Muskie. The fish will be pit tagged, and when they are caught, you will be sent all the detailed information on it. The Alliance is working on having the state make a Muskie License plate available. They need 500 signatures on a petition to proceed with the program. The cost of the new vanity plate will be $15 in addition to the price of a standard plate. They are also requesting a $25 donation which will come back to the Wisconsin Muskie Club Alliance. Joe discussed various ways we are promoting attendance and raffle ticket sales. We will have a choice of three entree s for dinner. Spring Classic/Paul s Pro Am. Scott S. explained that everything is on schedule with both events. We are working on the SC brochure. A new banner is being created which will include both events. We are updating our web page and Facebook pages. We have negotiated a complimentary booth at the Milwaukee Muskie Show and the Wausau Muskie Show. We will be using these booths to promote both events. We need Chapter members to help with both events. Your assistance is needed now, and during each Tournament. Our report was submitted for the November/ December issue. Gil Hamm Chapter Challenge. Bill J. let us know the dates are 8/23-25/17. Host will be the Red Wing Lodge on Lake of the Woods. Old Business. Dale P. is holding a rod building class for young people in the community. He would like $200 to cover the cost of supplies for 7-8 participants. There is no cost to the young people for this one day event. We voted to give Dale the $200. Joe K. still has four of the marine radios still for sale to chapter members. Membership. Jim C. let us know we have 335 members. 8 drops. Jim has reached out to the drops. Fish Report. Dale P. informed us that we have 794 fish registered as of this week. Fish contest ends at the end of the year. All fish registered go into a drawing for a nice rod/reel combo, and the drawing for the combo will be in March. See more details in the newsletter. Correspondence. Bill received a call from the Sunshine for Humanity Program of Eagle River. They were asking for a donation. This is a good program which provides shelter for local homeless people. We voted to give them $250. The M.I. national office has hired a consulting company to take an in depth look at the organization and see how everything is run. Financials, management practices. They want each Chapter to contribute $500 towards the cost of this. We voted to give them the $500. Youth. No report New Business. Andy H. made a motion that we always say the Pledge of Allegiance before all chapter events. Bob J. seconded it. It was passed. We have to make sure a flag is present at all events. Elections. Bill mentioned that all the Directors whose terms expire this year were re-elected. Open nominations for Officers: President. Jim H. nominates Bill Jacobs. Bob J seconds it. Bill accepted. Approved. Jim H. nominates Glenn Matula. Rick J seconds it. Glenn was not present but he previously accepted. Approved. Docks and Landings. No report Banquet. Joe K. held a banquet meeting prior to our regular meeting tonight. They reviewed the donors letter which will be mailed out in mid December. The event takes place at the White Tail Inn in St. Germain. Everyone is excited about this new location for the Banquet. The White Tail always does an excellent job. Fish Report December 7th 4 794 fish caught as of Dec. 4th. One in April, 37 in May, 133 in June, 205 in July, 126 in August, 158 in Sept., 98 in Oct., 36 in Nov., and 1 in Dec. SEE TABLE BELOW FOR Big Fish and Lunker of the Month leaders. Lunker of the Month winners for May, June, July, Aug., and Sept. are final. Fish photos for Big Fish and Lunker of the Month are due by the end of Jan. 2017. So far, I have received photos from everyone except Linda Jacobs. Remember to register your fish. We have a drawing at the end of the year for a rod and reel combo for the lucky angler whose number is drawn. A list of fish caught for the whole year is used with each fish getting a number in the order they were registered. So, if you registered fish #354 and that is the number drawn, then you win. You must register your fish within 30 days of it being caught.
