110 Halcyondale Rd Sylvania, GA 30467 June 15, 2018 Memo: Screven County Moo Moo Classic From: Brandon White, Screven County High School FFA Advisor The Screven County 4-H and FFA Livestock Showteam along with Screven County Extension and Screven County FFA will hold the 26 th Annual Moo Moo Classic Prospect Steer and Heifer Show on September 8, 2018 at the Screven County Agricultural Center. Enclosed are the rules, entry forms and directions. To enable us to provide better prize money, the entry fee is $30.00 per animal and $10 showmanship fee per exhibitor. Check-in will be Friday afternoon from 5-7 and Saturday morning from 7:00 9:00 a.m. The show will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the showmanship competition starting with the oldest and working our way down. ALL BLOCKING CHUTES MUST STAY OUTSIDE THE BARN. (Other arrangements will be made if it is raining). Rules and Regulations 26 th Annual Moo Moo Classic September 8, 2018 CATTLE SHOW GUIDELINES 1. Show and showmanship will only be for 4 th through 12 th grade. 2. Steers and Commercial Heifers will be shown by weight. 3. Registered heifers will be shown by age and will need registration papers in the exhibitor s name at check-in to be eligible for the registered heifers show if not they will be placed in the commercial heifer show and shown by weight. All Registered heifers will show together. 4. All entries must have a form of identification(tattoo and/or tag number) 5. All animals presented for exhibition purposes shall be accompanied by a veterinarian's certificate stating that these animals are from herds not under quarantine and are apparently free of all infectious, contagious, or communicable diseases. 6. Entries are open to the world 7. Check in will be Friday afternoon from 5-7 and Saturday morning from 7-9 am. 8. There is no limit to the number of entries per exhibitor. 9. Show will be Jackpot style. Payout will be Top three in each class and showmanship and Top three Steer, Commercial Heifer, and Registered Heifer. 10. All entries must be postmarked by August 31, 2018. A late fee of $20 per head cash will be required after this date and will be collected at check-in. All entries should be mailed to Brandon White, 110 Halcyondale Rd., Sylvania, GA 30467. THE LATE FEE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED AND NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. 11. Showmanship will be broken up in to groups. Cloverleaf (4 th and 5 th Grade), Intermediate (6 th 8 th Grade), Junior (9 th and 10 th Grade) and Senior (11 th and 12 th Grade) Showmanship will start with the senior showmanship and work down. Also there will be a Pee Wee Showmanship. 12. Show will start at 11 am. Show order(showmanship, Registered Heifers, Commercial Heifers, and Steers) 13. Show will not be classified as a fitting show or a blow and go show. Fitting of the animal is up to the exhibitor.
Directions From I-16 and Statesboro: Take US 301 North to Sylvania. Turn left onto Rocky Ford Road off of 301 bypass. This will be the first intersection on bypass after the traffic light at the south bypass. Ag Center will be 500 yards on the left. From Waynesboro and points North: Stay on 301 when highway GA 24 splits off and goes south. After the first traffic light turn right onto Rocky Ford Road at the first intersection south of the light at GA 21 and US 301. Ag Center is 500 yards on the left. From Millen and points West: At the light at GA 21 and US 301 turn right and then turn right again onto Rocky Ford Road at the first intersection south of the light. Ag Center will be 500 yards on left. From Metter via Rocky Ford Road: Ag Center will be on the right as you some into Sylvania. It will be about 300 yards past Screven County Correctional Institute.
