THE BUILDING OF CAMP ENTRANCE WAYS AND ALL AROUND GETTING INTO THE THEME OF THINGS FOR THE WEEKEND (THE TIME OF DANIEL BOONE WHICH WAS LATE 1700'S AND EARLY 1800'S) AND HOPEFULLY THE SPIRIT STICK WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE PLEASE TRY TO REGISTER WITH COUNCIL BY OCTOBER 15TH IN ORDER TO GET A HEAD COUNT. A Tax shall be collected upon arrival at the Fort as follows: Troop Fee = $10.00 (Camporee Expenses) Individual Fee = $5.00 YOU MUST BRING YOUR FOOD AND WATER!! THERE IS AMPLE FIREWOOD IN THE WOODS!! PRACTICE LEAVE NO TRACE CAMPING!! Troop Bolo s will be according scout specs *** PLEASE DO NOT INVADE THE FORT CATOOSA WOOD STOCKPILE (STACKED WOOD NEAR BUILDING). Schedule & Description Events Morning Activities: Archery Orienteering Trapping/Tracking Axe Throwing Afternoon Activities: Beam Toss Frontier Rifle Shooting (BB Guns) Knots/Lashing Camp Gadget (Judging at 4 PM) Tug-O-War Contest
Activity Needs Archery Need bows, arrows, targets, hay, and 2 TRAINED bodies to run event. Frontier Rifle Shooting (BB Guns) - 2 TRAINED bodies to run event. Marksmanship event - details given at Crackerbarrel. Strength Test - This is a distance contest so we need a 4x4 or larger beam to toss and a way to measure distance, and 2 bodies to run activity. Axe Throwing Need axes, targets, square hay bales, and 2 bodies to run activity. Orienteering - (Finding your way) - compass and able bodies to set up course and direct Tenderfeets to find their way. This will include 3 parts: 1. Map Reading/Orienting a map. 2. Measuring the height of a tree. Orienteering a compass course. Timed event with correct measurements and bearings. Knot tying/ Lashing - Complete basic knots correctly and correctly lash the 3 basic scout lashings. Timed event. Trapping/Tracking - Details at Crackerbarrel. Tug-O-War Need a large, very long rope and 2 large cones. Toni is running this one!! Troop competition! Camp Gadget Building - Mountain Men/women needed to judge the top 3 camp gadgets. Bring own materials. No preassembled items and all must be done with correct lashing. (NO glue, duct tape, nails, screws, or any modern tools and accessories). Need Mountain Men to judge Troop spirit for the Spirit Stick.
