The peak year ever in regards of PAX traffic for Plovdiv Airport is 2007 with a total of 104.130 PAX being handled. Due to the financial crises Plovdiv experienced significant PAX traffic drop for 2008 and 2009. Plovdiv Airport got back on the growth track 2010, as it has successfully finalized an agreement for year-round scheduled services with the largest LCC in Europe Ryanair. There were certain signs of the winter charter season 2010/11 to see a positive traffic growth compared to the last two seasons. Some of the carriers like the Russian S7 Airlines for example even changed their charters to Plovdiv into seasonal scheduled services. There is gradual and continuous traffic growth and 2014 Plovdiv Airport handles 6 scheduled flights to London STN and Frankfurt HHN.
