The program is recommended for all emergency medical professionals, rescue and dive team members. Course topics include: Medical evaluations of divers, Decompression physiology and bubble formation, Signs and symptoms of decompression sickness, Pulmonary barotrauma, Rapid field neurological exam, Field treatment of compressed gas injuries, Oxygen administration, Post-diving considerations, Integration of Med Dive Specialists into dive operations, Advanced treatment principles, and Monitoring of divers. *Entire program will be held in the classroom Prerequisites: All students must be a member of a public safety agency or health care field, and be at least 18 years old. Post Conference Classes Hosted by Dive Rescue International Panama City Beach, FL HazMat Diving - October 25-27, 2013 In-water program Contaminated water causes additional hazards and could possibly even stop your rescue/recovery operations. Almost all water is contaminated. Your team needs to be able to recognize, identify and operate in polluted water. During this program your team members will learn to operate in a cost-effective and proactive manner. All of Dive Rescue International's diving courses are taught in a classroom, a pool and an open-water site allowing students to practice their skills in a safe environment prior to the mandatory field scenario work. Kirby Morgan Maintenance & Repair Technician - October 25-27, 2013 TBD Water Operations Officer Development - October 25-26, 2013 Classroom only The scope of this course is to prepare emergency managers and leaders to operate within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) at a water operation event. This course takes incident command principles and applies them to large and small scale water rescue scenes. Students participate in incident command scenarios and make risk management decisions. Through scenario execution and discussion, students prepare for incidents of various magnitudes where the local NIMS-based ICS may transition to Unified Command. This course is ideal for Dive and Non-Dive Officers and Managers responsible for all types of water operations. Prerequisites: All students must be a member of a public safety agency and at least 18 years of age. Kongsberg Sonar - October 25-26, 2013 Your team has made the considerable financial plunge and bought a sonar; however, are you using it to its full potential, and more importantly, what can it really resolve at any given range? This one day program will dispel the myths and mysteries of how sonar systems work, what they can detect, and how to best deploy and apply the system for SAR operations. This is not a "sales" pitch for any particular system, manufacturer, or technology. What you take away from this course can be applied to side-scan, scanning sonar and echo sounders. When a sonar is used correctly it is an incredible asset to your team; the trick is knowing what your system can and cannot do. OTS Guardian Repair - October 25, 2013 Classroom only The Ocean Technology Systems Guardian Full Face Mask Service Technician course is designed to provide the attendee with the knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain the Guardian Full Face mask. The course will cover the use and application of the OTS Guardian Full Face Mask, as well as fitting, cleaning, repairing and performance testing. Please bring a mask to the class or contact us to make arrangements if you don t have a mask. Tuition includes specialized tool kit and one night of hotel accommodations. Certification is valid for three (3) years. www.iadrs.org www.diverescueintl.com
