Youth Programs Adult Programs Sears I Can Swim Ages 6-12 years A revolutionary new learn-to-swim program supported by Swimming/Natation Canada. The Sears I Can Swim program teaches swimmers a speedswimming style stroke in a fun, enthusiastic and caring atmosphere. Classes are grouped according to swimming ability and are individually tailored to help swimmers achieve and progress according to their strengths and challenges. Successes are rewarded as they are achieved (versus complete or incomplete at the end of the program), helping to keep swimmer s confidence high. Each swimmer receives a chart and stickers to monitor their progress at home and a passport for tracking their progress with each instructor. Sears I Can Swim 2 (45 Minutes) Skill Development builds on the skills in stage one and focuses on the basic movements and orientation ability for swimming strokes, such as arm action, sculling and breathing. Treading water and basic dives are also covered. Sears I Can Swim 3 (45 Minutes) Skill Improvement Builds on the skills in stage two. Involves improving all four strokes, improving reaction/rhythm abilities and increasing endurance. More advanced dives and basic turns are also covered. Check our Lesson Schedules for dates, times and prices Sears I Can Swim 1 (30 Minutes) Water Orientation Beginner and Intermediate Classes. Establishes a sound basis for the later acquisition of swimming skills. Water orientation consists of a combination of five skills: entry and immersion, buoyancy and floatation, submersion and breath control, movement in the water and propulsion through the water. 19
