Upon daily completion of operation the following should be performed: remove grass and mud from the mower, wash mower with water under pressure upon each mowing, especially inside the drum (holders. Knives) and sliding saucer, as dried mud with grass may cause premature wear of bearings in sliding saucer hub and vertical shaft, inspect all visible external parts and assemblies with their connection; all loosen screws shall be tighten and worn or damaged parts replaced, grease the PTO shaft tubes with STP grease, if necessary, lubricate the other parts and assemblies in accordance with the lubrication instructions (item 7) After-season maintenance and storing of machine At the end of the season the mower should be cleaned, washed and dried. Carefully grease unpainted surfaces and 3-point linkage pins. After that the following work should be carried out: Remove any traces of rust and paint the area affected, Loosen v-belts Check lubrication of gear box (3-point linkage frame) and gears Fig. 22. In the event of finding leaks and damages of polypropylene cover of vent valve (Table 1. Item 15) leaks should be removed by dismounting cover and possible replacement of self-adhesive sealing as well as replacement of valve cover. If water is found in the oil, it must be replaced, otherwise the gears, bearings and shafts could be exposed to corrosion what in result could lead to subsequent failures. When mounting the cover, pay attention to careful laying of the sealing and adequate screw torque Restarting the machine after repairs or longer storing periods Make sure that all nuts and screws are tightened with correct torque (Tab. 4). Make sure that all guards are installed in place. As the storing period is over lubricate the whole machine. Tab. 4. Values of bolt tightness

25 7. LUBRICATION RECOMMENDATIONS 7.1. Gear trough (gearbox) Oil level should be checked regularly through the vent valve of gearbox. It should be 15 30mm from the frame bottom. Amount of oil in gearboxes of mowers Z 064 and Z 064/3 is 2 litres. In case of lower oil level check whether there is no leak and remove the possible cause, and then refill the oil to the adequate level. Fig. 22. Lubrication scheme for mower Tab. 5. Amount of oil in gear trough Markings Amount of oil [l] Lubricant type Frequency of lubrication or replacement 2,0 Transol oil Once every 3 seasons (with intensive operation) 7.2. Risks present when lubricating If risk of splashing is present, make sure to wear protective eyewear with side guards. When lubricating protect eyes and skin against contact with the substance. Therefore use adequate protective wear with long sleeves and protective footwear. Also use protective gloves. In case of a contact with skin, immediately wash the infected area with plenty of water with soap. Do not allow the product to contaminate water outlets, water courses and soils. In case of an unintentional release to the environment plug the leak, limit the spillage, and then collect the oil with non-flammable absorbent material (e.g. sand). The product is flammable. In case of fire, use adequate fire-extinguishing means (e.g. foam, water mist, extinguishing powders). Do not use water jets.
