2 RACE PREVIEW Reaching for the top once more. The Mahindra Racing team returns to Paris this weekend for the eighth round of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. The streets around Les Invalides have given the team success in the previous two outings with a podium and fastest lap for Nick Heidfeld and both he, and Felix Rosenqvist, will be looking to do even better this year. After the heartbreak of Rome, our engineers have been busy working on the superfast M4Electro to ready it for the bumpy and variable track surface that the unique Paris track provides. At just 1.9km, the Circuit des Invalides is the shortest lap on the season four calendar. Qualifying will be extremely important due to the narrow track making it difficult to overtake in the race. Watch out for some epic (and probably wild) overtakes and expect some unusual stint lengths as teams utilise the lower thermal temperatures and potential safety car to try and gain an advantage. Paris is a happy hunting ground for Mahindra Racing. Last year Nick qualified in sixth and raced to third spot on the podium with Felix (who qualified in seventh) following home in fourth place. So far this season the team has secured two wins, three pole positions, one fastest lap and over 100 points and everyone will be pushing hard to add to these as we continue to fight for both titles. 3 FELIX ROSENQVIST It looks like a pretty straightforward weekend, with not many options right now. We need a clean race and we're hungry for a win because we've always got the capability to be in the front. Qualifying is key as is track position because even if you've got more energy its hard to use as overtaking is tough here. Our preparation is good and we just have to go for it. 5 TECHNICAL PREVIEW Vinit Patel, Chief Engineer We ve been to Paris twice, and it s a great event as we race in the centre of the city with historical and beautiful landmarks around. The track layout itself remains the same, and while we re not expecting too many changes we re still going to be careful on our track-walk in order to check all features of the kerbs and corners. We ve had two good races here in the past, and it s important to keep that ball rolling. The field has pretty much been as I predicted at the beginning of the season. JEV has been the most consistent, and even when he s not up there at the start like in Rome, he still manages to bring home some good points. In terms of sheer performance there are still seven or eight teams who could with a race outright. Mitch got close in Rome, but perhaps the driver s and team s inexperience cost them that one. They ve got a strong car and will no doubt be eager to get back into the fight. As expected, strong Audis, and we cannot discount Buemi and Renault especially on home turf. Virgin, along with ourselves will also be looking to put forward the best of performances. The opposite of Rome, Punta and Santiago, the Paris track is a very short lap, and not too quick in terms of end of straight speeds even by Formula E standards. The thermal game is also not so much in play and hence we ll see teams possibly qualifying out of position and trying more outlandish strategies and stint lengths in order to gain that little bit of advantage. Qualifying is always important, but a little more so here because there are fewer opportunities to overtake. The circuit itself is tight and narrow, with medium to slow corners that yield some interesting overtaking or defending opportunities, obviously dependant on the position you re in. The nature of the track has seen a 100% record of a safety car and full course yellows at past events, and this adds to the mix and is always a bit of a curve ball when you think of all the opposing strategies that could actually be advantageous here. Paris for Formula E is in a sense similar to Monaco for F1, except that Paris has some unique track features like the road camber, variation of the surface and the bumpy nature of a lot of braking zones. With slower speed straights and corners, bumpy surfaces and some potentially interesting strategies in play, we re looking at returning to Paris in strong form, and bringing both our cars across the finish line, hopefully with some good points.

9 M4ELECTRO OVERVIEW Race drive power 180kW (10kW more than Season 3). Regen peak power 150kW. Race energy allowance 28kWh. Magneti Marelli MGU & inverter latest iteration of the motorsport supplier s top line derivation of hardware, designed from the ground up to Mahindra packaging and performance requirements. Gearbox Mahindra design and manufacture single ratio, with adjustable mechanical differential. Powertrain casing Mahindra design and manufacture of carbon fibre & metallic casing. Rear suspension Mahindra design and manufacture of steel & aluminium parts throughout. Motor & inverter cooling Mahindra designed entire system, using carbon fibre, aluminium, and plastics. Car + driver weight 880kg (regulation as season 3) with considerable ballast included. The only significant change in Technical requirement relative to Season 4 is an increase in race power from 170kW to 180kW therefore demanding more from all elements of the car across a similar season. Going into the new season with confidence is an outcome of the continued partnership with Magneti Marelli (among other top-flight suppliers), and equally importantly, the internal bolstering of technical expertise resources, across all technical areas. The M4Electro powertrain has been heavily revised in every key area relative to M3Electro and has undergone weight reductions in all major areas; most notably moving away from a multi-speed transmission.
