4 Welcome to the 2017 Atlanta Select30 Super NIT, The Who s Who of Travel Baseball!!! The Atlanta Select30 Super NIT Team Information Guide is designed to provide teams with pertinent and general event information and rules as well as assist teams with acquiring up-to-date Atlanta Select30 Super NIT information throughout the weekend including: Pool Play Schedules & Scores Pool Play Standings Championship Brackets Innings Pitched Reports Final Standings & Points Awarded Unlike most large baseball tournaments that are played at multi-use facilities, the Atlanta Select30 Super NIT is primarily played at baseball complexes which typically have only one or maybe two fields sized for any specific age division. This being the case, most age divisions are spread out among several parks meaning most teams will play at multiple venues throughout the weekend. From an event management view point, communication between event staff and teams could be a nightmare if it wasn t for the powerful game management tools built into the USSSA.com web site. With this said, it is paramount that someone traveling with your team has internet access with either a smart phone or pad type device. You will use the internet to view updated tournament information including schedules, scores, standings, pitching records, brackets, weather, etc. The internet is updated LIVE IN REAL TIME making it the quickest way to obtain information. In case you re unfamiliar with the USSSA.com web site, Section III of this guide will walk you step by step through the process of using the web site to obtain the updated information you will need. 5 I. WEATHER UPDATES II. INFO & UPDATES WEB SITE ADDRESS OFFICIAL INTERNET EVENT PAGE Seeded Championship Brackets will be posted online APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES after the completion of the last pool play game in each age division and classification. Please DO NOT try to contact tournament headquarters to inquire about Championship Brackets as this only delays the entire process for every team. As soon as each age division and classification is seeded it is automatically posted to the web site. III. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Please notify ALL team personnel and guests of these rules. Any person attempting to violate any event rule(s) shall be denied access into or ejected from all venues. 2. Fighting, altercations and / or verbal abuse from managers, coaches, players, or spectators towards game officials, event officials or other participants shall not be tolerated. Any person participating in a fight, altercation and / or verbal abuse incident shall be immediately ejected from the venue and local law enforcement shall be notified. 3. Each venue shall have an on hand Site Coordinator at all times. If you cannot locate the Site Coordinator at a venue, ask at the Concession Stand. The Site Coordinator is in charge of schedule updates, scores, brackets and protests at the site. 4. Teams must provide their own bulk dispensing drink cooler (one per team). 5. No food, drink, or individual coolers of any kind shall be allowed in any venue. 6. Inclement Weather: If in doubt check your and text; information is updated as soon as it becomes available. 4

6 NOTE: Every effort will be made to complete each inning of all games. However, if a game is official and furthering the game would delay the tournament schedule, the game may be declared an Official Game. IV. MANDATORY TEAM MANAGER CHECK IN All Team Managers, NOT Assistant Coaches, Business Managers, Travel Managers, Team Moms, or Team Dads are REQUIRED to check-in with the Site Coordinator NO LATER THAN one hour (1:00) prior to their first game of the Atlanta Select30 Super NIT. Check-in will take less than two (2) minutes. The Team Manager needs to bring nothing to Check-in. V. SUPPLEMENTAL EVENT RULES PLAYING RULES not specifically covered herein shall be governed by the Georgia USSSA Baseball Official Rulebook. 1. Pool Play & Bracket Play Time Limits (All Classifications): 7U & 8U 6 Innings, no new inning may start after 1:20 9U & 10U 6 Innings, no new inning may start after 1:30 11U & 12U 6 Innings, no new inning may start after 1:40 13U & 14U 7 Innings, no new inning may start after 1:50 2. Championship Game Time Limits (All Classifications): 7U & 8U 6 Innings, no new inning may start after 1:50 9U & 10U 6 Innings, no new inning may start after 2:00 11U & 12U 6 Innings, no new inning may start after 2:10 13U & 14U 7 Innings, no new inning may start after 2:20 3. Pool play games may end in a tie. 4. Bracket & Championship Games shall be played out until a winner is declared. Comment: In tied Bracket & Championship Game situations, as many extra innings as needed shall be played using the TTB Rule (player making the last out the previous inning starts as a runner on second base with one out) to declare a winner. 5. Teams are not allowed pre-game warm-ups on the infield portion of the field. ALL pre-game warm-ups must be done in the outfield grass; this includes warm-up pitching from the game mound. 6. Both team Managers MUST completely fill out & sign an Official Score Card IMMEDIATELY following each game!!! NOTE: Make sure the final score is correct as well as verifying that all innings pitched by both team s pitchers are accurate before you sign. Once the Official Score Card is signed, the card becomes the Official Record of the contest and all information contained within is official. Any team failing to sign an Official Score Card shall be prohibited from playing their next game. 7. The Tournament Director has the authority to revise or alter the tournament schedule and / or format at any time in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the USSSA Baseball Sr. Vice President. 5

7 VI. USING THE USSSA.com WEB SITE SYSTEM Using the USSSA web site system is quite user friendly once you understand the basic functions of the system. This section of the guide is split into two sub-sections, one for VIEWING ITEMS DURING POOL PLAY and the other for VIEWING ITEMS DURING BRACKET PLAY. Click the Atlanta Select30 Super NIT link to be directed to the Official Atlanta Select30 Super NIT home page. ACTION: Scroll down the page and Click on the link for schedules, game scores and pitching. 6

8 You can view all tournament information from this page. Click the POOL SCHEDULE link to view the Pool Play Schedule & Scores of completed games. Click the POOL STANDINGS link to view the Pool Play Standings during and after Pool Play. Click the BRACKET AFTER POOL link to view the Brackets and Championship play.
