2 BALLFIELD CLAYS C L A Y - B A S E D S U R F A C E S Home Base Blend Our Home Base Blend is a unique and special blend prepared for the home plate area. It has been designed to withstand the heavy traffic associated with this part of any playing field. This custom blend provides the proper texture and slideability needed, and is available in dry or moistened form. Mound Clay Mar-Co Mound Clay is a virgin raw clay processed to a small particle size, and is available in dry or moisturized form. Moisturized Mar-Co Mound Clay becomes putty-like, which allows it to be formed and shaped while retaining its firmness and durability. Due to its bonding ability, it is very useful for building and maintaining pitcher s mounds and batter s boxes. As well, Dry Mar-Co Mound Clay is used as a binder in sandy materials. Clay Track Surfacer Our Clay Track Surfacer is a baked clay product for warning tracks, running tracks and pathways. It comes in two sizes labelled as 20 series (-3/16 ) and 25 series (-1/4 ) The characteristics of our Clay Track Surfacer provides the proper texture and color to alert a player of an impending fence or structure. Like all Mar-Co s products, it has been designed to be groundskeeper friendly! Infield Clay Mar-Co Infield Clay is a controlled blend of clay, sand and aggregate and is available in three standard mixes: Firm, Standard and Light. If your requirements dictate a unique blend, we can also provide custom blends upon request. Our three standard mixes come in two particle sizes: 15 series (-1/8 inch) and 20 series (-3/16 inch). Our infield clays are designed to maximize safety, playability, drainage and appearance, while at the same time fitting into your existing maintenance program. CONDITIONERS Diamond Clay Our Diamond Clay is baked clay, crushed and screened into a uniform range of sizes 1/8 or less. It is an orange-red clay product specifically designed as an amendment to heavy clay fields. Our Diamond Clay provides the correct drainage, texture and color suitable for any size ballpark. Infield Custom Blends Mar-Co Infield Clay is a controlled blend of clay, sand and aggregate and is available in three standard mixes: Firm, Standard and Light. If your requirements dictate a unique blend, we can provide custom blends upon request. Our three standard mixes come in two particle sizes: 15 series (-1/8 inch) and 20 series (-3/16 inch). Our infield clays are designed to maximize safety, playability, drainage and appearance. Mound Clay Fortifier Mar-Co Mound Clay is a virgin raw clay processed to a fine texture, and is available in dry or moisturized form. Calcined Clay Calcined Clay is a sports field conditioner that reduces infield compaction that leads to running, sliding and bad ball hop injuries. Calcined Clay provides superior drainage and absorption while still delivering the color, safety and performance of a professional infield. Three standardized particle sizes are available to suit your specific diamond. Washington Ball Mix Make the perfect double play with this affordable clay-based product that looks and performs like the majors. Washington Ball Mix is a unique blend of sand, silt, aggregate and clay with no particles larger than 3/16. This specialized formula makes Washington Ball Mix easy for maintaining, safe for sliding and orange for eye-appealing authenticity. Still softer than infield clay, Washington Ball Mix sets up firm for longlasting performance with great playability. Diamond Sands Mar-Co Diamond Sands are special graded sands that mix well into existing infields. Adding Diamond Sand enhances the texture and body of the playing surface. Diamond Sand also helps to address drainage issues by improving the percolation rate of your material. Field Bricks Mar-Co Field Bricks provide a new alternative in building Pitcher s Pads and Mounds and Catcher s and Batter s Boxes. Offering an uncomplicated and quick installation, our Field Bricks are economical, very user friendly and practical. When used instead of sand-based materials, Mar-Co Field Bricks improve the stability and durability required for Pitcher s mounds and Batter s Boxes. These bricks are comprised of Mar-Co Mound Clay compressed into a brick (4 x 8 x 2.5 ). They are compatible with existing clays and are easily maintained with Mar-Co Mound Clay. SANDS Sport Sand Sport Sand is a -3/16 blend designed for sub-surface requirements. It can be used as a base material for all applications, including infield skin, home plate area, pitcher s mound, and warning tracks. Our Ballfield Clay Products have been developed precisely for baseball fields. Each product has been engineered for a specific place and function. Mar-Co products have been designed to enhance players safety and playability, as well as improve drainage, water retention and aesthetics. Our user-friendly products assist groundskeepers by saving time and providing better, safer playing surfaces! We can provide the right product for any application, from Little League right up to Major League Ballparks. Whether you re considering a new park being built from scratch, or the renovation of an existing park, Mar-Co products should be your first choice.
3 Achieving Excellence Requires Concentration Too wet, too dry, too hard, too soft keeping your field in top shape is often hit or miss. Stay on track with Mar-Co s Target Amendment Program for ball diamond optimization. Mar-Co has developed four concentrated amendments that target the major causes of poor infields. The following quick steps will add the right amendment into your existing mix and create a surface that s right on the mark. Talk to your Mar-Co dealer for details about improving your ball diamond through the Target Amendment Program. 1. M.A.P. IT (Materials Assessment Program) The Mar-Co Materials Assessment Program is the only one of its kind, which analyzes soil samples and determines the make-up of your current infield. You simply provide a test sample of your playing surface to your Mar-Co dealer to establish which amendment is right for your field. 2. SEND IT Mar-Co delivers directly to your ball diamond using Super Sacks. This enables you to order precisely the amount of product needed without costly part-load bulk shipments. Super Sacks also ensure you receive exactly 1.5 tons/bag of pure uncontaminated material. 3. WORK IT Applying the concentrated Target Amendment is easy to do yourself which helps keep your cost of improvement lower. 4. PLAY IT A better infield makes a better game, which makes a winning combination for both players and fans. Target Amendments Each concentrated amendment has been engineered to solve specific problems that occur with ball diamond surfaces.
