All divisions (except Tee Ball) must report scores to Mike Kosderka after each game. Mike has tried to reserve Gym Time for March, but it is already reserved by another organization. It may be possible to have gym time on Saturday, we haven t requested it yet. If you want to use covered areas at Firwood or Kelso, it s first come-first served. Please respect the facilities. We have no reservation at Firwood. TBall Coaches present Andrews Curtiss Dukart Alexander Smith SKelton Shively Missing: Brown We have 2 T-Ball divisions. 1 st years 4/5 year olds are Junior TBall players Older tball kids are Senior TBall Players Need to be flexible on time limits. Work with where your kids are. Senior tball kids start off on the tee, move to coach pitch (3 strikes then tee) after about 2 weeks. Junior tball kids stay on the tee longer, but may eventually move to coach pitch. Base hit has to stop at first. Last batter gets to run the bases. There are plays, kids do get out on plays. Bat the entire roster regardless of outs count. Tee Ball must have a chalk line drawn in front of home plate for fair territory. We won t have catchers in Tee Ball. Halfway point we may switch. (May 1 st is the designated Halfway point.) Senior TBall catchers gear will be kept in shed, both teams should share. Mask required, shin guards and chest protector not necessarily required. Should be able to get 3 innings per game. Should be swapping kids infield/outfield. Clear the dugout to field your players. (don t have to limit to 10 players) Batting order should be made once. At the end of the game, the player who was the next up, is now the lead off hitter in the next game.

Always use softies at tball. Pitchers helper should wear a helmet. It s not necessary to practice more than 1 or 2 days per week. Please have an adult in the dugout for crowd control. Please enforce bat safety at all times. (especially in the dugout) Rookies Coaches Present: Wright Head Jones Bender Silvis Rookies will play a 2:00 time limit. (Strict limit on weekends. Flexibile on weeknights depending on daylight.) No new innings after 1:45. 2 hours drop dead. Any time anyone squats behind a batter, a mask must be worn. Adults and Players. There are no umpires in Rookies. 6 innings of baseball is the goal. Try to get at least 5 innings in. No pitching in rookies. They get 5 hittable pitches. (Call no pitch if that pitch didn t count.) If the 5 th pitch is a foul ball, they can battle till hit or strike out. Coaches run the machine for their own player. Agreed during meeting that adjustments can be made at any time for height. Don t change the speed. Pitchers Helper must wear a helmet. No advancements on overthrows or passed balls. No stealing. 5 run rule per inning. (there is not a mercy rule) Speed should be approx. 45 mph. The machines are marked with the line that is approximately correct. Pitching machines should be used for practices so they can get used to it. They are located in the small shed attached to the tball shed. Generators will be in the small shed. Please don t fuel the machines on the sod.

Make sure both coaches are using either 2 seams or 4 seams throughout the game. If the ball hits the machine or generator, or adult pitcher it is a dead ball (single). Only forced advancements on a dead ball. Lineups and Batting order: Use Buddy System. 2 kids buddy up. They alternate outfield/infield. Ideally: LF/3B SS / LC 2B / RC 1B / RF Pitcher / Bench Catcher / Bench Also, Batting order should stay the same all season. The last batter from the last game is now the lead off batter. (MAY 1 st ) After Halfway Point: They can take a double if they can hit it to the outfield. Stealing is allowed on a passed ball that HITS THE BLACK MAT. No lead off, it must hit the mat first. (May steal 2 nd or 3 rd Only, not home) Encourage your players to make a decision to run when they see the ball hit the mat (try not to coach them to run if you can avoid it) The runner may not steal another base on a bad throw down from catcher. There is no longer a single rule. OK to advance on over-throws. Home runs are possible. Time out Rule is introduced: Any infield player, with possession of the ball, who is in fair territory may raise their arms and call TIME which will stop the play. If baserunners are past the half-way mark, they can advance to the next base. If they are not, they must go back. (if there are multiple runners, and the lead runner doesn t make it to the halfway mark, they are forced back. (unless bases are loaded, then they are forced forward)) Minors Coaches Present: Alexander Wolf Curtiss McIntyre Minors begins just like Rookies rules ended.

Encourage kids to look in rather than looking out for the timeout. Still get 5 pitches (3 strikes you re out) during pitching machine usage. Batting order rule should be maintained. Buddy System for pitcher/catcher may need to be tweaked for skill. 5 run rule per inning. We are not going to do an open inning. There is no mercy rule (10 Run) Pitching machines will be used for 3 innings. 3 innings will be pitching. (Ok if only get 2 innings of pitching) Portable mounds in the shed for each field When we inter-league, we use our own pitching rules. We do not go by any other league s pitching rules. When players pitch, these rules apply: Goal is to have all of your players on the mound by the end of the season. Some won t want to pitch, but encourage them to try. Regular balls/strikes apply. 30 pitches or 1 inning per pitcher. *a single pitch = 1 inning (if you re going to put a pitcher in, make it count.) 1 inning = 1 day of rest Pitching practice on flat ground is less of a strain on your pitchers. (If you have a struggling pitcher, you have an option to give the opposing team the 5 runs and end the inning after 30 pitches) (MAY 1 st ) After Halfway Point: After mid-season, the 30 pitch limit will be upheld. May need to switch pitchers mid-inning. Field 10 players. Violation of pitching rules result in a forfeit. The game should be played through. DQs will be recorded in the scorebook as a 7-0 win Book Keeper will keep pitch count in book including pitcher name. Names need to be recorded as: Lastname,Firstname (This is very important, because some of these players may be All Stars and we need the regular season books to be accurate.) Maj 60

Coaches Present: Luebbert Kosderka Sparks Schulfer Christie Pitching Rules are: Days of Rest: o (20 pitches or less per day, no rest, it was not a pitching day) o pitches = 1 day of rest o pitches = 2 day rest. You can finish the batter at 50, but it will require a 3 rd day of rest. Violation of pitching rules result in a forfeit. The game should be played through. DQs will be recorded in the scorebook as a 7-0 win Book Keeper will keep pitch count in book including pitcher name. Names need to be recorded as: Lastname,Firstname o (This is very important, because some of these players may be All Stars and we need the regular season books to be accurate.) Can steal after pitch breaks the plane of the front of the plate, any base including home. No new innings after 1:45 (hard stop at 2:00; score reverts to last completed inning) 5 Run rule per inning. o 6 th inning is open, unless both coaches declare a last inning sooner. No Dropped Third Strike Fielding 9 players Must slide feet first into a base, can dive head first if returning to a base. Infield fly rule is in effect No Slug-But (if you square, you must bunt) Not required to have every player pitch No Balks Also, Batting order should stay the same all season. The last batter from the last game is now the lead off batter. Mid Season Rule change. Maximum pitches becomes pitches = 3 day of rest. Maj 70 Coaches Present: Silvis Luebbert O Neil Not necessary to rotate your line up. You don t have to have even infield/outfield time. OK to base batter position on skill Lead Offs Allowed
