Errors in the past have been missing the footpath towards Old Amersham from the cricket club at 5 miles, and in the two woods sections towards the end follow the yellow arrows. 12 Stage 6 Top Tips Race Navigation: This is one of the trickiest stages navigationally, with a series of fiddly turns in Kings Langley and then in St Albans. The opening 2 miles also have 11 kissing gates please be patient. The stile at 3.8 miles is hidden in a hedgerow and hard to spot, and to mark. Look out for chalk on the road. Road crossings at 4.6 miles and 6 miles need care, and you need to be patient crossing King Harry Lane near the end, no matter how near the end of the race it is. 18 Stage 9 Top Tips Navigation: Most of this stage is simply following the canal. We have had plenty of problems with people getting lost in Enfield Lock though (7 miles), so follow the instructions with care.
