2 INTRODUCTION This document lays out the specific selection criteria for Canadian female road cyclists to be named to the national team for the following 2015 National Team Programs: Unless expressly stated otherwise in this document, these criteria are subject to the general conditions and criteria laid out in the Cycling Canada General document. Note that the National Team Program is subject to change due to budget constraints, athlete availability and changes to the international calendar. In the event of changes, Cycling Canada will strive to make new information available as soon as possible. 3 1. DEVELOPMENT CALIFORNIA ROAD CAMP ELITE/JUNIOR WOMEN 25- Mar- 15 to 06- Apr- 15 To provide a good block of training to increase aerobic capacity, strength and preparation for upcoming races. The maximum size of the Team is 8. CC reserves the right to vary the Team All female licensed riders age 17 or over on Dec. 31, Exceptions may be made for a younger athlete. Selection Date On or around Mar 15, events (road or track/ elite and junior) from the end of May 2014 to beginning of March Identified athletes with a proven record of past International success; Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. Athletes on Tier 1 of the 2015 National Team List will be fully funded. Other athletes may have to contribute to this project. The estimated cost per 2. CC reserves the right to vary the Team All female licensed riders age 19 or over on Dec. 31, Selection Date On or around April 15, In considering the riders to be selected to the Road Team the National Coach Highest finish at the 2015 Elite Road World Championships; The female athlete with the most UCI road points using the UCI ranking released on March 1, 2015; Identified athletes with a proven record of past International success; Athletes who can contribute to the team success by their work and team spirit; Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. The 2 riders for the Time Trial will come from the road pool and the National Coach Highest finish at the 2015 Elite Road World Time Trial Championships; Identified athletes with a proven record of past International Time Trial success; Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. GRAND PRIX CYCLISTE DE GATINEAU/CHRONO GATINEAU/PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL CYCLING CLASSIC 04- Jun- 15 to 07- Jun- 15 Provide international experience on North American soil to experienced and/or development riders requiring team support. Provide track endurance athletes with road racing opportunities Be a positive presence for Cycling Canada in North America Score UCI points. The maximum size of the Team is 6. CC reserves the right to vary the Team The composition of the team may vary from one event to the next based on athletes trade team obligations and availability. All female licensed riders age 19 or over on Dec. 31, Second year juniors may be considered for the GP Gatineau. Selection Date On or around May 15, events from Oct. 1, 2014, to April 30, 2015; Identified athletes with a proven record of past International success Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. Athletes on Tier 1 of the 2015 National Team List will be fully funded. Other athletes may have to contribute to this project. The estimated cost per 5. Fully funded. 6. ELITE ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS POOL Pool Size Identify Elite Women cyclists who can contribute to top- 10 performances at the 2015 Road World Championships; The maximum size of the Pool is 8 riders. CC reserves the right to vary the Team size based on the suitability of the competition to the athlete s performance All female licensed riders age 19 or over on Dec. 31, Selection Date On or around June 30, Automatic selection to the Pool: The following riders will be automatically named to the Pool: The 2015 Canadian Elite Road Race Champion; The 2015 Canadian Elite Time Trial Champion; Any Canadian with 100 or more UCI points on the Elite Women s Rankings at June 30, Additional selections to the Pool: In considering the riders to be selected to the Team the National Coach and/or the Selection Committee shall take into account: The rider s UCI Road rankings on June 30, 2015; The rider s performance and results in the 2015 Canadian Road Race Championships and the Canadian 2015 Elite Women s Time Trial Published on March 14, 2015 Page 6 of 11

7 Event; The rider s performance and results at UCI sanctioned events, road or track endurance or other approved international events from Sept. 15, 2014, to June 30, 2015; and Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. 7. ELITE ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL 22- Sept A top- 10 performance The maximum size of the Team is 2. CC reserves the right to vary the Team All female licensed riders age 19 or over on Dec. 31, 2015 who have been named to the Elite World Championships Pool. Selection Date On or around Sept. 8, Pre- participation requirements Selection to more than one team All riders seeking selection to the Elite Women s Category Road Teams must complete an international participation period of at least one (1) month in a National Sport Coach approved Team training and racing program prior to the 2015 UCI Road World Championships and provide a detailed training/racing plan to the National Coach. Athletes must also be a member of the National Athlete Pool and have completed all relevant requirements. The Pool selected riders performances in major international individual time trials; and Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. Fully funded. Riders may be selected to the Elite Women s Teams for the time trial Event and the road Event but selection to the Team for one Event does not guarantee selection to the team for a different Event. 8. ELITE ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM ROAD RACE 26- Sep- 15 A top- 10 performance The maximum size of the Team will be set on Aug. 15, 2015, through the UCI qualification process. 8 All female licensed riders age 19 or over on Dec. 31, 2015 who have been named to the Elite World Championships Pool. Selection Date On or around Sept. 8, Pre- participation requirements Selection to more than one team All riders seeking selection to the Elite Women s Category Road Teams must complete an international participation period of at least one (1) month in a National Sport Coach approved Team training and racing program prior to the 2015 UCI Road World Championships and provide a detailed training/racing plan to the National Coach. Athletes must also be a member of the National Athlete Pool and have completed all relevant requirements. The Pool selected riders performances at UCI sanctioned events, whereby performances at European UCI events will be considered of higher importance; and Items mentioned in clause 10 of the General. Fully funded. Riders may be selected to the Elite Women s Teams for the time trial Event and the road Event but selection to the Team for one Event does not guarantee selection to the team for a different Event. JUNIOR ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS POOL Pool Size Identify Elite Women cyclists who can contribute to top- 10 performances at the 2015 Road World Championships. The maximum size of the Pool is 8 riders. CC reserves the right to vary the Team size based on the suitability of the competition to the athlete s performance All female licensed riders age 17 or 18 on Dec. 31, Selection Date On or around Aug. 1, Automatic selection to the Pool: The following riders will be automatically named to the Pool: The 2015 Canadian Junior Road Race Champion; The 2015 Canadian Junior Time Trial Champion. Additional : In considering the riders to be selected to the Pool the National Coach and/or the Selection Committee shall take into account: Results and performances at 2015 Canadian Road Race and Time Trial Championships Results and performances at Tour de la Rélève (July 8-12, 2015) Results at any UCI or major national events from Jan. 1, 2015 to Aug. 1, Note: The National Criterium Challenge event will not be considered Published on March 14, 2015 Page 10 of 11

All athletes selected to the World Championships Pool must take part in the Cycling Canada Kermesse project in Belgium (Aug. 17- Sept. 1). 4. JUNIOR ROAD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM TIME TRIAL AND ROAD RACE 21- Sep- 15 and 25- Sep A top- 10 performance The maximum size of the Team is 4, with 2 athletes competing in the Time Trial and all 4 in the Road Race. CC reserves the right to vary the Team size based on the suitability of the competition to the athlete s performance All female licensed riders age 17 or 18 on Dec. 31, 2015 who have been named to the Junior World Championships Pool. Selection Date On or around Sept. 5, Pre- participation requirements All riders seeking selection to the Junior Women s Category World Road TEAM (after selection to the POOL) must provide a detailed training/racing plan to the National Coach from the date of selection to the date of the event and be available to participate in the pre- World s preparation in Belgium (see section 4). Athletes must also be a member of the National Athlete Pool and have completed all relevant requirements. In considering the riders to be selected to the Road Race Team the National Coach The pool selected riders results and performance in the RR and ITT at the 2015 Road Nationals; Results at any UCI or major national events from Jan. 1, 2015, to Sept. 1, The athletes for the Time Trial Team will be selected from among those selected for the Road Race.
