Juniors, please sign up as early as possible. $70 on-line registration fee for Tandems until Midnight March 24, USAC one-day license cost is $10 and can be purchased on-line or when picking up number. Pickup number too for pre-registered racers! PICK UP RACE NUMBER & PACKET! Either one of the two locations listed above or at the start area! ALL RACERS MUST SHOW A 2012 USAC License when picking up a number or they must buy a one-day cost $10, NO EXCEPTIONS. Don t care if your dog ate it! COURSE REPORT & DIRECTIONS This is a beautiful event on Tucson s East End. A 9-mile circuit course includes rollers & climbs & downhills. The Course goes Clockwise from the top of Pistol Hill Road. There is about 300 feet of climbing per lap. The three roads Old Spanish Trail, Colossal Cave Road & Camino Loma Alta have all been repaved. No more cobbles. Camino Loma Alta has been widen with a bike lane the entire distance. Directions: In Tucson: Take Old Spanish Trail past the Rincon Store about 2 miles turn RIGHT on Camino Loma Alta (traveling opposite the way the race goes) to Colossal Cave Road then make a LEFT turn (heading EAST). Parking will be about 2 miles after the turn. THERE WILL NO CARS ALLOWED ON PISTOL HILL ROAD FROM OLD SPANISH TRAIL. This is for safety & less congestion. From Phoenix: Take I-10 east to Exit 279 (Vail/Wentworth) Go North 6.5 miles. You will cross a set of railroad track and have to make a right turn at a light just pass the new Walgreen s. At the top of the hill stay to the right (you will be on Colossal Cave Road) as you pass Camino Loma Alta. After Camino Loma Alta the parking will be about 2 miles PLEASE PARK OFF THE ROAD WAY ON THE EAST OR RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD, AS WE WILL BE RACING USING THE WEST OR RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY!!!!!!!!!! OTHER STUFF! Helmets are mandatory at all time you are on the bike! YELLOW LINE VIOLATIONS WILL BE ENFORCED!!! Race will go on in any weather condition! All racers finish on the leader lap. Feed Zone is located on Old Spanish Trail 100 meter before the right turn onto Pistol Hill Road! It will be open for all laps for all categories! Awards for the first wave will be given out after the start of the second wave. Second wave awards will be given out after all categories finish! All categories will have wheel support. All wheel support will be neutral support. Bring wheel to staging area 30 MINUTES before you race starts! Page 3 of 6

4 There is no drafting of support vehicles at any time. Race Numbers: DO NOT FOLD OR CRUMPLE NUMBERS! Port-a-johns with Hand Cleaners will on site & one at the Feed ZONE! EMT will be on-site! There is no littering! Race official will determine the penalties. If witnessed by a police officer you may be ticketed. JUNIOR ROLL OUT! There will be a Junior Roll out check with officials. No Public Urination. All cyclists and support must use the port-a-john or the indoor plumbing! Pima County Sheriff Officers will be directing TRAVEL PUBLIC not Cyclist. It is the cyclist responsibility to know the course. Any wrong or missed turns will not be accepted as a protest. No electronic devices may be worn by all competitors. This includes ear buds, iphones, ipods or radios. If caught using any penalty will be disqualification!
