1 2017 Information Pack About Us Evolve Performing Arts Company (Evolve PAC) was established in 2014 by sisters Stephanie Miller and Elizabeth Roome. After many years of studying and teaching at other dance schools and companies they decided to open their very own performing arts company to allow them to pass on their 20 years worth of knowledge. Miss Steph and Miss Liz have been trained by some of the industry s best and have a wide range of expertise in the performing arts industry. They have performed in / choreographed; - Musical Productions, for local theatre companies WMTC and GMS - Music Videos for Australian blues rock band The Snowdroppers - International tours around the USA and National Tours with RG FAMOUS - Performances at The Royal Easter Show, Theme Parks, Parades, Featured Artists in Starstruck and Schools Spectacular, Australian Dance Expo, Opening ceremony for the Youth Olympics, State Dance and Drama Festival and much more. - Together have won numerous Championships and Scholarships in eisteddfods and competitions around NSW - Part of the Junior Cheer Squad for the Hunter Pirates NBL team - Trained and performed alongside international dance sensations and Dance Moms Stars Hayden Hopkins, Sophia Lucia and Asia Monet Ray At Evolve PAC we offer high quality, professional classes at affordable prices for all ages and abilities! We take students from just 18 months old and classes start at only $6.00. As well as affordable, high quality classes we also offer early payment discounts and unlimited passes. Plus, if you re unsure we will let you try your 1st class for FREE, so you have nothing to lose! Miss Steph and Miss Liz pride themselves in being approachable and professional and believe communication between Teachers, Students and Parents is vital. Mission Statement At Evolve Performing Arts Company we aim to be the company of choice for ANYONE who wants to discover their passion for the performing arts! Our Goals Our goals are to; - Create relaxed, pressure free classes for students of all levels who want to learn co- ordination, rhythm and style. - Assist our students in gaining confidence, gross motor skills and other personal skills they will use in everyday life in a fun and friendly environment. - Constantly learn and discover new styles of dance and choreography to pass on to our students as well as innovative stretching and conditioning classes. - Make Evolve one of the leading performing arts schools on the Central Coast. - Communicate with our students and parents by providing timely and accurate information on our website, facebook page and in newsletter format. - Offer classes specifically designed for students who are more serious and are interested in having a career in the performing arts industry. To achieve our goals we have designed programs to educate and train young dancers with active and creative minds, to meet their full potential.

2 Class Information Jazz Jazz is our most popular dance style. Its lots of fun and a great form of fitness. In this class Students will learn a number of dance combinations, jumps, kicks & turns. We use music that is from the latest hits with an upbeat tempo to create an energetic atmosphere. Jazz classes are available from the age of 3 years + Tap Tap dancing is a fun style of dance that anyone can learn, regardless of previous dance experience. In this class students develop their sense of rhythm, coordination and timing. We offer Tap classes from the young age of 3 years + At Evolve PAC we study the Glenn Wood tap syllabus. Students are encouraged to sit their exams as they help build confidence and give the students a goal to work towards, however these are not compulsory. Lyrical Lyrical dance is very similar to ballet, combining the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom, fluidity, expressiveness and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance Lyrical dance is expressive, simultaneously subtle and dynamic, focused on conveying musicality and emotion through movement. Lyrical classes are offered to students 5 years + Ballet Classical ballet is the backbone to all dance styles. Studying ballet improves muscular strength, flexibility and range of motion as well as boosting coordination and balance while correcting poor alignment. Evolve PAC studies the R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) Syllabus. We offer Ballet classes from the age of 3 years +. Cheerleading/Acro In this class students will learn basic cheerleading stunts, pom dance combinations and an introduction to acro and tumbling similar to that seen in movies such as Bring It On and Stick It. Cheerleading classes are offered for students aged 3 years + Musical Stars These classes are a mixture of singing, movement and drama. In this class students will be putting together a mini musical which they will perform in our end of year concert (mini musical stars is much more basic) Along with learning their parts for the musical students will be participating in drama and singing games and exercises, learning audition techniques, stage craft and basic movement. Our "musical stars" teacher Miss Steph D has been involved in amateur musical theatre her whole life and has much to offer up and coming performers! Credits include, playing Rizzo in Grease and Gabriella in High School Musical As well as staring in shows she has also Co- Directed shows and is currently studying Secondary Drama/English teaching at University. These classes are open to ages 3 years +

3 Conditioning, Stretch and Kicks, Turns and Leaps These classes have been designed for students who want extra help to improve on their flexibility and strength. During these classes students will be given an extra push to help them reach their full potential. KTL classes focus entirely on Kicks, Turns and Leaps. These classes are available for students aged 5 Years + Beginners Stretch students will need to supply a Pilates mat and a red or green resistance band (from Rebel Sport) All other Conditioning, Stretch and KTL students will need a Pilates mat, a red or green resistance band (from Rebel Sport), a skipping rope and an exercise book. Mini Combo Class This class has been designed for students aged 3-5 years. This is a combination class that runs over 1 hour and in this class students will learn 20minutes of Tap, 20minutes of Jazz & 20minutes of ballet. Learning the basics of Tap, Ballet and Jazz dance, this class is filled with fun! During the year students will learn a tap dance routine, jazz dance routine and a ballet routine which will all be performed at our end of year concert. Students are also welcome to only take part in one dance style (20 minutes) for $6.00. Kinder Combo Class This class is perfect for students who are just starting school this year and want to learn Tap, Jazz and Lyrical at a very affordable price! This combination class runs over 1 hour and during this time students will learn 20 minutes of Tap, 20 minutes of Jazz and 20 minutes of Lyrical. During the year students will learn a tap dance, Jazz dance and Lyrical dance which will all be performed at our end of year concert. Students are also welcome to only take part in one dance style (20 minutes) for $6.00.

4 Uniforms For your convenience all our uniform items are available to purchase through us at our studio. Students are required to arrive to class in correct shoes, neat hair off their face and in appropriate dance attire. Please no denim shorts/jeans or dresses. Ballet Students are required to wear a dark pink leotard, ballet pink stockings, and pink full sole ballet shoes. Hair must be in a neat bun, no jewellery! Musical Stars Students are required to wear any comfortable clothing in studio colours and enclosed shoes.

5 Fees At Evolve PAC we pride ourselves on being upfront and open about all fees and costs. Class Fees are to be paid either by the term (we encourage clients to do this by offering a 10% discount if you pay the whole terms fee within the first week of classes) or weekly ( if arranged with Miss Steph) In the case of cancelled classes any fees that have already been paid will be deducted from next terms invoice. Like any other business every so often our expenses do go up which causes an slight increase in fees, we are still confident that our prices are very competitive in todays market. Money must be paid to your teacher at time of your lesson in cash. - All fees must be paid even if you do not attend (this includes private lessons). - If you are having any problems paying your fees on time please speak to Miss Steph and we will do our best to help you out. - Due to the already heavily discounted price families under any unlimited classes pass are NOT eligible for the 10% early payment discount. - All Fee and costume deposit money are non-refundable. - The Elite Student Pass enables students to participate in any recreational class and their required classes at a capped price. This fee also includes all eisteddfod entry fees (for their group) and extra rehearsal fees for the year. Fees can be paid via Direct Deposit or in Cash. All NEW students are eligible to trial all classes free of cost for their first week. Invoices will be administrated via before the commencement of each term. To be eligible for the 10% discount, fees must be paid in full before the second Monday in the term. The whole terms fee must be paid by the start of week 4 each term otherwise a late fee of $10 will be applied to your next invoice, unless you have been making weekly payments that have been approved by Miss Steph. If you wish to receive a hard copy of your invoice during class please let Miss Steph know.

6 Enrolment Fees, Costumes and Concert Costs Dance can have the misconception of being expensive; this can happen when parents are asked to pay costs that they weren t aware of. At Evolve PAC we like to be upfront with all potential costs so parents can budget for this. Below is a guide to other costs associated with dancing: - A $20.00 Enrolment Fee per student or $35.00 per family will be charged at time of enrolment to cover Insurance & Administration costs. This must be paid at the time of your child's enrolment to ensure their place in the class is held. This is an annual fee and if you fail to pay this fee you child's place will not be held and you risk missing out on a place in your desired class. - A concert rehearsal fee of $10.00 per student will be charged to Term 4 Invoices this fee is necessary to cover hall hire and staff for the day. - At the end of term 1 & 2 each student will be required to pay a deposit for their end of year concert costumes. The cost is $20.00 a term for each class your child is taking. In term 3 the final balance will be invoiced and needs to be payed before costumes are handed out, we try to keep the costumes as reasonably priced as possible (budget around $50.00-$60.00) however this may change. Annual Concert At the end of each year (November/December) Evolve Performing Arts Company will hold an annual end of year performance. This is the chance for students to showcase the routines they have been learning in class for family and friends. Please note this performance is not compulsory however we do encourage all students of Evolve PAC to take part in it. These tickets will be available to purchase online and further information will be provided closer to the date. Merit System At Evolve PAC we believe students reach their full potential when learning in a positive and encouraging environment and we have devised a merit system to assist with this. Every week teachers will be choosing a student who has been working to their full potential, applying corrections, demonstrating class rules and encouraging class mates, to receive a class award once a student has received 5 of these and bring them back In to class students receive a small prize to congratulate them on their efforts. All Minis and Juniors will also receive stickers at the end of each class to encourage them to keep trying their best. Teachers will also supply minis with a sticker book that they can bring to class to collect their stickers in. Private Lessons Private lessons are available to all students at Evolve PAC. These lessons are designed for students wanting to compete in competitions or feel they would like to increase their skills in general. Students can choose between learning a routine in any chosen style to take to competitions or alternatively we have private lessons in Stretching and KTL (Kicks, Turns and Leaps) available. Please see fees for costs and payment information for these lessons. Attendance If a student will be absent from class please let your teacher know by texting All fees must be paid wether students attend class or not, if you wish to discontinue tuition at Evolve PAC please notify us of this ASAP but please keep in mind all fees are non refundable. Advertising and Social Media During your child s time at Evolve PAC they may be photographed and/or Videoed for promotional purposes. If you do not give permission for your child to be photographed or videoed please let us know. These photos/videos may be used in our newsletters, flyers and posters or posted on our website, facebook page and instagram. Our end of year concert will be professionally videoed and copies will be available for parents to purchase.

7 Elite Team Our Elite Teams are designed for students more serious about their training. Access to these classes are by invitation only and students are chosen by their teachers based on their performance in class. Students aren t chosen only based on their talent but also their behaviour, commitment and passion for dance. All students invited to be apart of our elite teams will have certain classes they will need to participate to continue their elite classes. All elite students will be on the elite pass (no discounts). This pass includes tuition fees for all required classes and coves any eisteddfod fees and extra rehearsal fees throughout the year. Excel Program In 2017 we will be introducing our new "Excel Program". This program is for students who are wanting to further their dance training, without the commitment required for elite students. Excel students will receive more in depth training in technique than they would receive in recreational classes and will be given opportunities to complete exams and public performances. Previous dance experience required. Over the next few years we will be extending our excel class programs. Studio Rules - We take no responsibility for any lost property. We advise that all shoes, clothes, drink bottles, bags etc should be clearly labelled with your child s name. - Students only are permitted to be in the studio during class. Parents/Guardians and siblings are asked to wait outside. - Safety First!! At Evolve PAC we practice safe dance for the safety of all students and teachers. Any students not following these rules become a danger to other students and will be asked to sit down. - No chewing gum - No large jewellery is to be worn to class. - Please advise your teacher of any injuries or sickness at the beginning of your class. - We do not take responsibility for any injuries that may occur before, after or between classes and although teachers are not held responsible all care is taken. - By enrolling at Evolve PAC you are aware and accept that there are risks associated with participating in these classes. Therefore Evolve PAC is released from any responsibility or legal liability arising from your participation or negligence of other persons present. - All fees are non refundable. - STREET PARKING, if there are no spots available directly in front of our unit you must park on the street and walking down. There is no parking in front of our neighbouring units. - All fee and costume money must be paid for before collecting costumes at concert time. What Now...?
