Student Council would like to offer you a week of dressing fun and celebrating moving toward the end of the year. All students have to do is give a little first!! In order to earn this week of fun each student must bring in 3-5 toiletry items in a Ziploc baggie and decorate one of the prayer cards that were sent home and place inside the baggie. These items will be collected for homeless shelters in the area. Mon., 5/18: PJ s or Comfy Clothes (Bring a board game to share) Tues., 5/19: Halloween in May Costume dress-up (Same Halloween rules apply!!!) Thurs., May 21 Friday, May 22 Crazy Day and Photo booth fun! (Wear your hair crazy or mismatched crazy clothes) Field Day wear athletic attire and your team color! Lunch provided for all students! SCRIP SUMMER HOURS The last Thursday that SCRIP will be open during this school year is on June 11 from 11 am 12pm. We will not be open from 3-4 pm that day. SCRIP will be open all summer on Sundays from 9:30-10:30 am. Wed., 5/20: Dress-up Day (Mass day) Thurs. 5/21: Crazy Day & Photo Booth Fun Fri., 5/22: Field Day - Athletic clothes and team colors to be worn. **Remember non-uniform dress code and Halloween costume rules apply to these days.

Please be sure to legibly write your child s name and grade on the bag or envelope that they turn in so they can be in the running for the large SJV duffle bag, SJV hoodie, SJV blanket, and more!! Many of the Box Tops have expiration dates that may expire over the summer so it s important that we collect them now. During this school year we have been able to redeem these labels for over $4,000 which directly goes to benefit all of our students through the many programs that our Home and School Association sponsor. Most students are out growing their uniforms from last fall but it is too early to buy for next year the uniform swap may help you fill the gap! So please plan ahead and make sure you get a physical in for the school year. FALL SPORTS SIGNUPS Fall sport sign ups have already happened so please talk to your son or daughter about what sports they want to play next fall. We offer: I will be contacting parents who had children sign up in the next few weeks so please be ready with an answer for what your players ready to play. SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS There are a few great opportunities for students to participate in summer camps for a variety of sports. Attached to this are the flyers with more information for each camp and sign-up information. Basketball Open Gym Times Friday After School Walsh will be in the gym after school this Friday for any 5-8 graders that want to sharpen their basketball skills. This is open to all boys and girls in 5th - 8th grades. The coaches will be focusing on skill development and maybe we will play a game or two. Anyone interested in joining just needs to show up in th egym after school Friday dressed to play. Players can be up earlier if needed. Thanks to the coaches for volunteering their time! 4 Attention Horse Lovers and Riders: High School Equestrian Club Teams for students of Catholic Central and West Catholic The coaches of the Equestrian Teams are actively searching for students who may want to become part of the High School E-Team! E-Team is a fun and exciting way to learn all there is about horsemanship while participating as a team. Competition includes events such as trail, jumping, gymkhana (speed) and English and Western show events. It is the best way to meet other Horse Crazy students! The Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association (MIHA) holds three meets in September (Sept. 12, 19 and 26 th ) for High School Competition. That means Team Practices will start soon and continue throughout the summer. 8 th Grade students planning on attending CC or WC in the fall are encouraged to join us! Do you love to ride? Trail? Show ring? Pasture? Never competed in a horse show? Or, Love to show? Not sure if you even WANT to compete? Don t have a horse but want to learn about leasing one? Love horses but want to start out helping to groom and learn about them first? Then come join us to see how! We will have a team informational meeting at 9am at The MIHA Junior Team competitive meet - Saturday, May 16th at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds; 5235 Park Ave., Hudsonville, We will meet at the registration building between the two arenas. Look for the CC and WC Flags! Students and parents are welcome! The meet is an all-day event and a good way to see how the competition works! 13 Odyssey of the Mind Annual Pop Can Drive SJV has five teams this year involved with this wonderful program. Starting next week there will be collection boxes at the ramp entrance and scrip area. Please feel free to drop off any returnable bottles and cans, including adult beverage containers. The Summer Camp program provides group games, activities, gym time, and outside time. Summer Camp also provides enrichment activities whose goals are to help maintain what the kids learned during the school year in a fun interactive way. Summer Camp includes field trips to local businesses, local parks, and museums as well as participation in service learning projects. Center costs remain the same even if a child is absent; therefore, parents will be charged for each day their child is contracted to attend and not in attendance. Absences from our programs should be reported to the office by telephone. Each child receives two weeks of Vacation Credit for the summer session equal to the number of Contracted days each week. For example: A child Contracted 3 days per week receives 6 Vacation Credit days. Vacation Credit will be charged at half the tuition rate for that day. A Vacation Credit form must be turned in. The Director will approve the Vacation Credit if there is at least 2 week notice and there is Vacation Credit still available for the summer. Vacation Credit may be used on days your child is contracted to be here and your child is NOT in attendance.
