1 ENFIELD BATTALION DRILL COMPETITIONS 2015 INFORMATION FOR COMPANIES The Enfield Battalion Drill competitions for 2015 will be held on Wednesday 11th March They will take place at the Armfield Road Hall (1st Enfield HQ), meeting at 7:45pm to start at 8:00pm sharp. The following competitions will be held during the event: Colours (current champions 1st Enfield BB) Three members who fall into the Company Section/Seniors age group as defined in the Enfield Battalion Competition Rules. The Colour Bearer only may be one year above the defined age limit. The Colour Bearer should carry their Company Colours. He/she will be required to memorise the test paper and give all of the commands. Small Squad Drill (current champions 1st Enfield BB/Amicus) No less than six and no more than eight members who fall into the Company Section/Seniors age group as defined in the Enfield Battalion Competition Rules. Single Line Drill (current champions N/A) No less than four and no more than six members who fall into the Company Section/Seniors age group as defined in the Enfield Battalion Competition Rules. Two Smart Recruits (current champions 1st Enfield BB) Two members who are in their first session in the Company Section/Seniors age group. Junior Section members may not take part in any of the above competitions. The competitions are open to all Companies in Enfield, Barnet and Inner North London Battalions, as well as Girls Brigade Companies in the London North District. As per Enfield Battalion rules, joint entries are permitted in Small Squad Drill and Single Line Drill but not Colours and Two Smart Recruits. Companies may enter as many squads as they wish but a member may only appear in one squad in each competition. Uniform will be judged according to current BB, GA and GB uniform regulations. Amicus groups shall wear their chosen uniform. A trophy will be presented to the overall winners of each competition. Enfield Battalion trophies will be presented to the highest placed Enfield Battalion Companies in each competition. Other entities are welcome to present their equivalent trophies to their highest placed Companies if they wish. Entries for the competitions should be made to me by 8th March When entering, please specify which competitions you wish to take part in and how many squads you wish to enter. 3 DRILL COMPETITIONS PERSON COLOUR DRILL PAPER Current champions: 14th West Kent BB/GA The rules for this competition can be found in the 2015 version of the document Rules for Drill competitions. The Colour Party should march on with the Colour uncased and to the Carry by the Colour Bearer, who should wear the carrier over their left shoulder. The Colour Party should begin the routine at the rear of the hall, side by side, facing towards the front and standing at ease. Movement of the Colour will not require a command but should be carried out smartly in the simplest manner without loss of bearing and with the left hand being used as necessary. It will be necessary for the Colour Bearer to memorise the commands for this Drill routine. Between each section, the Colour Bearer should await signal from the Judge before continuing. Marks will be awarded by the Judge for uniform (10%), commands (30%) and Drill movements (60%).
