The motion was made to nominate the current officers to their offices for the next year. Elections will be held at the December meeting. If you didn't get one with your muzzleloader, order one from the manufacturer. They will send you one for free. Many companies now have a web site and online manuals are common. Wear shatterproof shooting glasses and ear protection, as both percussion and flintlock guns may shower sparks and bits of caps/ flints when fired. Treat a misfire or failure to fire as though the gun can fire at any second. Wait at least a minute with gun pointed at the target. Be sure all spectators are completely behind you when firing. Flames and bits of caps/ flint sometimes exit from the side of the gun. It is good shooting etiquette to warn other shooters that you are about to fire a flint lock next to them. DO NOT Never fire a muzzleloader unless the ball is firmly seated against the powder charge. Firing a muzzleloader with the ball off the powder or part way up the barrel may cause serious damage to the firearm and possibly serious injury to the shooter. Do not exceed manufacturer's recommended maximum powder charge. Never use FFFFg black powder for a charge in any muzzleloader at any time. The only safe use for fine priming powder is for the priming of a pan on a flint lock. Fine powders will cause excessive pressures and could very well burst your barrel. Never lean over (or stand in front of) the muzzle at any time. Never attempt to shoot out a projectile which is not firmly seated against the powder charge. OUR FALL RONDY THAT WAS ON SEPT 16, 17, 18 WE HAD 9 KAMPZ, 10 KAMPERZ, and 12 PEOPLE THAT SIGNED UP TO SHOOT. WE HAD A NICE KAMP. THE WEATHER WAS BEAUTIFUL WASN T TO HOT. TRYIN TO REMEMBER, I THINK LIPS WON MENS RIFLE? WE HAD A COUPLE OF LONG GONG CONTESTS; MARK JANTZER WON ONE OF THEM. I DON T KNOW WHY I DIDN T EVML CLUB UP COMING EVENT INFO Club Meeting and Club shoots for December and January Friends of the Black Rock Christmas Gala Annual fundraising Event December 11 th 12-5pm at the Grand Sierra in the Nevada Foyer. They have invited us to be apart of the event, set out some blankets with some of our gear: traps, pelts, etc... Those that would like to get into period and tell stories and tales of their adventures. THE NEVADA DAY PARADE STEVE MOORE, AND HIS FRIEND GARY, CAME TO CARSON TO SHOOT THE BIG GUNS, RAY ANDERSON AND I WERE THERE TO KEEP THE SAFETY AR- EA CLEAR. WE WERE SETUP AT 8AM NEAR STEWART AND 395 TO SHOOT THE CANNONS TO SIGNAL THE PILOTS TO LAUNCH THEIR HOT AIR BAL- LOONS. THEN WE WAITED FOR THE START OF THE PARADE AT 10AM, TO SHOOT ANOTHER ROUND. WHILE WAITING ONE OF THE OFFICIALS TOLD US WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN FRONT OF THE MAIN VIEWING AREA IN FRONT OF THE PLAZA HOTEL. WE SAID NO THIS IS WHERE THEY WANTED US. SOME PEOPLE SAID THEY DIDN T HEAR THE CANNONS. I HEARD PAULS CANNON AND HE WAS AT THE BEGINING UP AT HIGHWAY 50 AND 395. SO IWAS TALKING TO JOY EVANS SHE WAS ON THE PARADE COMMITTEE SHE NEVER HEARD THE CANNONS, SO EVERYONE CAN HEAR THEM I WILL USE 5 CANNONS, NEXT YEAR 1 AT EACH END 3 IN THE MIDDLE. SHE SAID SOUNDS GOOD TO HER AND SHE WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN. AFTER WE GOT DONE THERE RAY AND I WENT TO OUR STAGING AREA ON FLIESCHMAN. ALL OF US ABOUT A DOZEN OR SO, WAITED THERE UNTIL 1 O CLOCK BEFORE WE STARTED OUR WALK IN THE PARADE. FINISHED WALKING AT 2 O CLOCK FROM THERE WE WENT TO THE BASCUE RESTURANT AND HAD LUNCH. THERE WAS A FIRE AT THE RANGE, RAY SEEN SMOKE WHILE WE WERE WALKING IN THE PARADE. WAS DRIVING ON CURRY ST. SEEN A FIRE TRUCK GETTING WATER FROM THE HYDRANT NEAR THE NURSERY. A WHILE LATER WENT UP THERE AND A FIRE FIGHTER FROM NDF WAS AT THE BOTTOM HE SAID THE FIRE WAS ABOUT 12 ACERS. IT BURNED FROM WHERE WE PLACE THE HOOTERS AROUND CAMP TO THE CAN ON THE HILL AND OUT TO THE ROAD BY OUR TRAIL WALK. FOLLOWED IT UP TO ABOUT THE TRIPLE DISC SHOOTING STA- TION DOWN THE HILL UP THE OTHER SIDE AND AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE HILL, BACK TO THE HOOTERS I WOULD LIKE TO THANK STEVE AND PAUL FOR BRINGING THIER CAN- NONS.
