2 Directions to Mt Whitney Fish Hatchery from Ridgecrest, California Travel Time: 1.5 hours (96 mi) north of Ridgecrest, CA. 1. Travel North on Hwy US-395 to Independence 2. Two miles North of Independence turn left onto Fish Hatchery Road. 3. Travel 1 mile west on Fish Hatchery Road and turn right into the Hatchery Entrance. 4. Follow cones to registration and unload gear. As soon as gear unloaded, please park on East side of Hatchery parking lot, or the south side of Fish Hatchery Road. Mt Whitney Fish Hatchery -> st re ec p dg ho Ri Bis - Parking < Parking Detailed map will be provided at event Check-In. Registration & Camping will be at: Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery 1 Golden Trout Circle Independence, CA (GPS coordinates are Latitude 36 49'47N Longitude W On Saturday, unit leaders may drive to the end of the paved road to drop off participants and turn around outside the gate, but may not drive onto the ranch without specific permission. Limited parking inside the ranch gate is reserved for staff. In accordance with our emergency response plan, all participant vehicles must be parked facing downhill (NorthEast) on the south side of the paved road.
