1 Brothers, Here is your final information packet for Conclave 2013 at Mandan Camp. Sorry for the delay getting this to you. As some of you know, our summer camp, Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch in Colorado was hit with wildfire our first week of camp and the staff barely got the 250+ people out in time, tho this just took minutes. The forest is decimated, and some buildings totally destroyed. This coming weekend we will finally be allowed in to assess the damage. Never the less, Conclave will go on at Mandan Camp near Dodge City and WE ARE EXCITED! You received a preliminary packet at the March COC, so here is a detailed packet with most current information. 2 CONCLAVE AT MANDAN. SEPTEMBER 6,7,8TH This packet is intended to provide you with all of the information that you will need to get your lodge s contingent registered for conclave. Enclosed you will find the following forms: Dietary Needs Request, Contingent Registration, Section C-5A Election Nomination Request, list of Trainings for interest sake, and activities. Some of these may change but you get the flavor. THEME-This year s Conclave theme is based off of the Old West, featuring the notable western icons: Wyatt Earp, Jessie James, Doc Holliday and various others. Activities will involve fun western games such as: tomahawk throwing, black powder, Lasso roping, sun flower seed spitting contest, cow chip throwing, dunk tank( get your officers/chiefs wet, and mechanical bull riding, and many many more. You will be treated to fine Western cuisine out on the prairie. And of course you can t forget about them fancy CAN-CAN GIRLS and western melodrama for the big show. CAMPING- Each participant will be responsible for providing their own tents. We will provide a specified region to which your contingent is allotted based on size. There will be a limited number of dorm rooms, each with two bunk beds with mattresses and AC. Per person will be 10$ for one night or 15$ for both nights, first come first served, 4 persons per room. REGISTRATION FEE- This year s conclave will be $38. The registration fee will include meals, this year s conclave patch, as well as most activities throughout the conclave. Late registration is 45$/ or walk-ins. TRADING POST- There will be a Section trading post available at this event. There will be a variety of OA and BSA items available as well as merchandise outfitted for this event. The OA CAFÉ tent with concessions, snacks, an conversations will also be there. MEALS- The Section will provide a cracker barrel on Friday, three meals and a cracker barrel on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. There will also be popcorn and makings for PBJ sandwiches. If any contingent members have special dietary requests, they will need to fill out the Dietary Needs Request form. It is important we get these requests as soon as possible so we are able to make arrangements with our cooks. PHYSICAL FORMS- Each delegate will need to provide two copies of their physical form. One will be turned in at check-in and the other should be kept by the contingent leader. A minimum of a class II physical is required for this event. All participant medications need to be brought in their original container and kept secure. If any medications require refrigeration, please bring this to our attention at check in. CONCLAVE ACTIVITIES- The weekends activities will include many Western themed games. It will also include fun attractions like: scavenger hunt, Cherokee run, Inflatable bull riding,, Lasso/horse shoes, sunflower spitting contest, movie(tombstone, gun smoke) one each night & silent patch auction. And of course Lodgeball!( maybe with water balloons and new RULES)

3 Location of Camp: Ford County Lake near Dodge City, KS (see map) Mandan Camp sits on the east side of the lake, south along a short gravel road. There is a sign on the paved Correction Line Rd, coming off of 283 north, the paved highway going north near wright, ks Currently our Lake is nearly dry, but hopefully some summer rains will help it out You will park in the clearly marked parking area, and the host registration tent is right there. They will direct you to our camping area / or dorm rooms, and then on to the dining hall for cracker barrel, opening activities, and movie. This is a relatively small camp and it is easy to find everything, even in the dark.

7 Dietary Needs Request If you have any individuals attending conclave who have special dietary restrictions they will need to complete this form and send it in with the registration materials to the Section.
