2 All-Nighter Information: Theme Location March Madness Lee Arena at Washburn University Date March 9 at 6pm to March 10 th, 2013 at 6am Early Registration On or Before : $18.00 per scout $ 8.00 per leader (there is no charge for volunteer staff) Registration After and by : $20.00 per Scout $10.00 per leader (there is no charge for volunteer staff) No registrations will be taken after the deadline. Fees cover the cost of insurance, food, program supplies, awards, and other expenses by the All-Nighter. A final count of participants is needed two weeks ahead of time to ensure adequate program supplies. Register Online at ***Online Registration: when registering online, make sure that you put a 3 in front of your unit number when prompted. For example, Pack 103 would be Pack 3103, Pack 50 would be 3050, ect. Check -in Attire Food The check-in area will be located just below the stairs when you walk-in the main entrance of Lee Arena. Volunteers will give parents and leaders maps as well as put wrist bands on all participants. No walk-in registrations will be accepted as program supplies are based on actual number of participants. All Scouts and Scout Leaders are allowed to wear Class B Uniforms during the event. Wear athletic shorts and shoes as many activities require physical activity. Be sure to eat dinner prior to arrival. Pizza will be served at midnight, but feel free to bring snacks. Snacks will also be served at the trading post for an additional cost. 2
3 Safety Awards What to Bring All rules of the Safe Scouting Guide will be observed. Adult two-deep leadership is required at all times. Report any accidents to the Health Officer at the All-Nighter Headquarters. Awards will be handed out during the closing ceremony of the event. There will be many prizes to be given away for those Scouts that win the various competitions. Please bring a sleeping bag, pillow, athletic type shoes, and snacks. While the intent of the event is to stay up all night, a sleeping area will be provided to give that opportunity. Sleeping Arrangements Trash Departure Breakfast Trading Post Adult Leadership Pinewood Derby Siblings There will be a designated sleeping area for those wishing to rest. This area will be a lighted main hallway. The sleeping area will follow BALOO overnight guidelines. Tigers, Wolves, and Bears must be accompanied by a parent and there must be two deep leadership for Webelos in the sleeping area. Be respectful of the facility. Washburn University is very generous in letting Scouts use Lee Arena and we want to maintain a strong relationship. Pick up all trash and help leave the building in better condition as before we arrived. At the end of the closing ceremony everyone will be released to go home. Double check to make sure that you take home everything that you brought, as well as anything that you received from the event. Departure will begin at approximately 5:45am. We will serve pancakes for breakfast for everyone to go home on a full stomach. Breakfast will be served after the last session and before the closing ceremony. There will be a Scout Trading Post to purchase cool Scout gear as well as snacks and extra All-Nighter T-Shirts. Designate two people from your pack to be the contingent leaders to coordinate and lead your group from station to station. We will be following BALOO overnight rules for adult leadership needed to attend the event. A parent/guardian must be on hand for each Tiger, Wolf, and Bear. Two Deep Leadership is required for Webelos. Each unit must have minimum of two adults for two deep leadership. Bring your pinewood derby car with you to the check-in area to get entered into the District Pinewood Derby Race. Siblings are welcome to attend with a parent and the registration fee is the same as that for a Scout. 3
