A: I am extremely humbled. Q: What is the most important thing you have done since you became this? A: The most important thing I have done is remind people to act like Christ. Q: What will you do to help the school in the future? A: I would continue to do what I am doing but also try to find more ways to be loving and generous. Q: Do you think that honors students will make students again? A: I hope so but I also hope to see new faces. Q: What changes do you think the school has made over the years? A: The school has become more aware of our responsibility. Q: What guided you to be at this school? A: The Holy Spirit. Q: What is your favorite thing about this school? A: My favorite thing is that when something happens like someone dies teachers respond with open hearts, they try to help others. By Devin O Brien Again the Varsity Boys have won a tournament but that does not mean they are the only team doing well. The JV Girls have won a lot of their tournaments too. All the Hawks Teams won a trophy in our tournament and in some of their other tournaments as well. The JV Boys came in second place for our tournament and in the CYO tournament they came in second place too. Three out of four teams won our tournament. We had a fun season and are excited for next year s season.

2 Nintendo 3D: The new wave of gaming! DSI 3D by Brett de Bouver Nintendo changed the world of portable gaming with touch-screen gaming on the Nintendo DS in Nintendo then pioneered the motion-control game revolution with the Wii console and the Wii Remote controller back in But now the 3D without the glasses game comes! The Nintendo DSI except better, 3D. This DSI has a 3.53 inch top screen and a 3.02 inch bottom screen. It has 3 cameras, one inner and two outer to deliver the 3D effect and take 3D pictures. It includes a motion sensor, a gyro sensor and even a Slide Pad that allows 360-degree analog input. A few kids in this school already have this brand new gadget. A kid who I interviewed has this in 3rd grade named Tobi Cotto. He told me that now there is a home button on it which the DSI didn`t have, a game called Face Raiders which lets you take a picture you have, and play with it on games. It comes with a free SD memory card. It also comes with some AR Game cards which lets you put a character`s picture on a card, so wherever you go, you can aim at the card with the DSI 3D camera and the characters comes out of it. You can also make MIIs now with a built in app. You can get new apps too on the app store app. If you`re not a fan of 3D you can turn it off. All this for the price of $170.00! The Principal s Corner To be nobody in a world which is doing its best, night and day to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human can fight, and never stop fighting. E-e.e. cummings Dear Students, Congratulations! You ve completed more half of the school year already. That wasn t so bad, was it? Think of all the wonderful things you ve learned so far this year. Really, think about it. Some of you are learning to read for the first time. Some of you have learned much about the history of ancient Egypt, while others have learned about the conflict in modern Egypt. Some students have learned to subtract, while others have learned to manipulate the Pythagorean Theorem while others have learned to manipulate the Slope -intercept form. Some students have even learned about the brain, while dissecting it! You ve probably learned some new things about some of your classmates. You ve learned that Mr. Gieryng will perform random uniform inspections. You ve learned that you can accomplish anything that you put your best efforts towards. However, the most important things that you ve learned are about yourself. You ve grown, spiritually and intellectually, and your teachers and I are very proud of you, but the toughest part of the year is ahead of you. 3 Ask Addie From Laughing At Me Dear Addie, I tripped and spilled my milk on myself. Now everyone is calling me names. What should I do? A family is a place where minds come in contact with one another. If these minds love one another, the home Dear Laughing at Me, will be as beautiful as a Well you should ask them to stop and, if that isn t working, then maybe you flower garden. But if these should tell someone because that s a real problem. You should try to ignore them minds get out of harmony and not stoop to their level. From Addie with one other it is like a Dear Addie, storm that plays havoc I m having friend trouble. You see my friend and I got into a big fight because she is super good at softball and with the garden. I m still learning how to play softball. So now were in a -The Buddha big fight because she was getting upset because we were trying to play together but she was too good for me then she started getting mad at me and now were in a fight. What should I do to fix everything? From In A Big Fight Dear in a Big Fight, I think that you re still learning so she shouldn t be getting mad at you. You should try to talk to her about that and if that doesn t work then you should try to take a break from your friend for a while and when you re ready you can try to talk to her again and if that doesn t work maybe she not the best friend to have anymore. 5 Short Story by Taylor Brady Hi, my name is Mistie. This is the time I got a love note. In 6 th grade on Valentine s Day I came in thinking that it would be a normal day, but when I got to my locker I found something I didn t expect A secret admirer note! I told my best friend Crissy. She said whoever wrote it probably thought that it was someone else s locker. I went through the whole day not thinking about it until Crissy brought it up in lunch. She said, Hey! Did you figure out who gave you that note?! Right then I figured out who gave me the note, right when Crissy started cracking up. You gave me that note didn t you? Don t be mad! It was a joke! She exclaimed. I m not mad! I laughed. It s brilliant! Best prank you ever pulled! Clifford and Emily Elizabeth at Kindergarten A while ago I was told that a very popular dog and his best friend stopped by the kindergarten. Remember these characters from when you were young? Clifford and Emily Elizabeth stopped by the kindergarten. First they went to Mrs. A and Mrs. D room where they took a picture with the class. Then, Emily Elizabeth read to the class one of their Clifford books and talked about when she did that with him. When they visited Mrs. McCormick they also took pictures with the class and everyone got to give free hugs to Clifford and Emily Elizabeth. You re always there for me When the world comes crashing in, And chaos rules my mind, I turn my heart to you Lord, And pure, sweet peace I find. This book is about two brave friends who go to save England from getting eaten by As these friends go to save England they do many unusual activities such as drinking frobscottle, dream- catching, and meeting the Queen of England! If you read this book you can find out what whizpopping is and why Jack in the Bean stalk is really scary! This is not your ordinary adventure book it s funny, silly, but a great story. About this author: Roald Dahl wrote Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and many other great books. He was a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force in World War 2 and then after the war moved to Washington D.C. and became a writer. 6 This rabbit was so enormous, it didn`t even hop. Maybe it`s the old Easter Bunny? An enormous bunny that lived 3 million to 5 million years ago was so hefty six times the size of most rabbits today that it didn't hop and had no enemies. It was 26 pounds. But this Easter Bunny lost the ability to hop, because the long, springy spine typical of modern bunnies was replaced by a short, stiff backbone. Aside from its incredibly large size, its hind legs are rather short, not so good for hopping. Bad luck affected the rabbit when a climate cooling likely ruined comfortable living conditions for the species on its island. The researchers suspect this climate change led to the rabbit's extinction. But one of these rabbits must of made it through the extinction and become the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny brings baskets filled with colored eggs, candy and sometimes also toys to the homes of children on the night before Easter. The Easter Bunny will either put the baskets in a designated place or hide them somewhere in the house or garden for the children to find when they wake up in the morning. The Easter Bunny is a counterpart to the Santa Claus of Christmas, as they both bring gifts to children on the night before their respective holiday. 7 Brainteasers Mr. Y gives the 5th grade brain teasers. Try some here. Draw a picture with the squares The 5th grade science fair On March 23rd, the 5th grade hosted a science fair in the gym. All the grades came by to take a look at all the hard work. Mr. G also stopped by to judge the two best! The two winners were Neptune, behind the stage, and Uranus, by the boy s bathroom. The science fair went from 10:30 to 1:30 in the gym. After the science fair, the groups picked one or two people to throw their space craft off the balcony. Jupiter was the winner. They won homework passes for all in that group.
