2 PAGE 2 ST. THOMAS MORE HIGH SCHOOL NEWS Welcome back! This so going to be another exciting school year. As St. Thomas is entering it's 26th year we will continue it's great tradition of "Developing Personal and Academic Excellence in the Catholic Tradition." This year we will be bringing back "Life Runners" with Pat Castle speaking to our high school students on September 16th. Freshmen and new family orientation will be Monday night the 22nd. First day of school will be August 23 we will be in full school uniform that day. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Remember "It's easy when you know how!" Our NEW Cavalier Corner gear has started arriving & we will be ready to launch the NEW styles at the upcoming orientations this August! We have new colors, a new logo, and new styles!!! Window decals, blankets, & stadium seats to show your SCHOOL PRIDE!!! You will be able to shop the CAVALIER CORNER the following times & places August 17 Meet n SES Terra Sancta 4-6pm August 22, STM middle school & high school STM High School 4-8pm We will be at all home football games this upcoming fall!!! 3 PAGE 3 WELCOME TO ST. THOMAS MORE MIDDLE SCHOOL!! Dear Family and Students, It is a pleasure to welcome you to a new school year! My name is Mary Helen Olsen and I am your new principal! I have been part of the Middle School for a very long time as a Religion teacher, and in fact, have taught some of our current teachers and some of our parents! Suffice to say, I love this school! We start the year with more new faces as well. Please help me welcome our new Middle School staff: Meagan Brown will teach 6 th and 8 th grade Religion Adam Hockhausen will teach 7 th and 8 th grade Science this first semester Jessica Henrichsen will teach 8 th grade Grammar/Composition Luke Shama will teach 6 th Social Studies Sheri Raforth will teach Sign Language Enrichment Class Henry McCathern will teach Robotics Enrichment Class Erin Hughes will be our new playground monitor A few other teachers have shuffled around. Ms. Hofer will teach 7 th Religion and Senior Theology Mr. Flores will teach 8 th Social Studies and 7 th /8 th Computer Mr. McDaniel will teach 7 th Grammar/Composition and 7 th Social Studies I have so much more to share with you so I hope you will please come to the Middle School Orientation on Monday, August th Grade Parents and 6 th Grade Students and NEW 7 th and 8 th grade parents should come from 4:30 Returning 7 th and 8 th Grade parents should come from 5:30 6:00 We will have lots of information tables for you to visit, so please make time to see what s new at our school! Students are welcome into the school at 8:00am on Tuesday, August 23 rd where we will gather in the gym for Prayer and Blessing to begin the start of an awesome and blessed year! Be assured of my prayers and best wishes as your summer vacation draws to a close, and I look forward to seeing all of you at Orientation. STM MS PE uniform may be purchased at Rushmore Embroidery. The uniform includes blue basketball shorts with STM logo & white STM MS tee-shirt. Please label these items as they are all identical and may be mistaken for another students. Tennis shoes must be worn during PE class. We ask the shoes not be worn outside due to the new hardwood basketball floors. Uniform Providers: Land s End ( Uniform Swap News Please do not forget that the uniform swap is always accepting donations of outgrown uniforms and spirit wear. These can be left in the High School office, Middle School office, or the Uniform Swap Room (Middle School room #220).
