The Umpire shall determine whether the green is in a fit condition for playing the tie and decide appeals on grounds of darkness, condition of weather or any other valid reason. If the Umpire decides that a game must be postponed, he shall there and then in the presence of the Competitors, fix another date for the tie and the parties shall be held thereby to have received notice of the fixture. The Umpire before the commencement of any tie, shall examine the bowls of all players to ensure that they are properly stamped as per the S.B.A. rules and will ensure that the players are following the dress code stipulated by the Association at its AGM. The council shall decide all disputes and claims for ties, which must be submitted in writing to the Association Secretary along with any relevant correspondence, no later than the Monday following the original date of the tie or two days in the event of a postponed tie.
