2 Compete against the best from throughout the country in Olympic-style competition for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, and 4th-6th place ribbons. Location: LaHaye Ice Center 1971 University Blvd. Lynchburg, VA (No test Senior Events) Lancerlot Sports Complex 1110 Vinyard Rd, Vinton, VA (Basic Skills & Adult Events) Practice Ice: Tuesday, July 30 th Sunday, August 4th as schedule allows Dates: Tuesday, July 30 th, - Sunday, August 4 th, 2019 (USFSA events) COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY This competition is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating. The STATE GAMES of AMERICA 2019 FIGURE SKATING COMPETITION (USFS) will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the current rulebook, as well as any pertinent updates which have been posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website. This competition is open to all eligible, restricted, reinstated or readmitted persons as defined by the Eligibility Rules, and is a currently registered member of a U.S. Figure Skating member club, a collegiate club or an individual member in accordance with the current rulebook. NON-VIRGINIA RESIDENTS - All gold, silver and bronze medalists from National Congress of State Games Member State programs held between July 2, 2017 and July 1, Also all medalists from the 2017 National State Games in Grand Rapids, MI and any other previous State Games of America. VIRGINIA RESIDENTS - All Virginia residents are eligible to participate. Should space become limited, priority will be given to Virginia residents who have medaled in 2017 and/or Additional criteria, in rank order include: participation in 2017 and 2018 Virginia Commonwealth Games. Skaters must also be in good standing with U.S. Figure Skating. TEST LEVEL: Competition level is the highest test passed as of the entry deadline in the discipline the skater is entering. Age and test status as of June 1, 2019 determines skater s level for this event. Entrants may skate one level above that for which they qualify, but they may not skate down in any event. Theater on Ice teams and Synchronized Skating teams may not skate up a level, but must enter the division that reflects their member s test level as of the cutoff date for entries. Skaters who placed in the top four in a final round of their last qualifying competition in their divisions must move up one level, except for novice and higher. AGE RESTRICTIONS/REQUIRMENTS: Skaters entering Juvenile Free Skate events must be under 14 years of age at the close of entries. Skaters entering Open Juvenile Free Skate events must be at least

3 FACILITIES 14 years of age at the close of entries. Skaters entering Beginner through Pre-Juvenile events will be divided as closely as possible by age should the number of entries warrant more than one group. SCING: All events will be scored using the 6.0 system. The competition will be held at LaHaye Ice Center, 1971 University Blvd. Lynchburg, VA and Lancerlot Sports Complex, 1110 Vinyard Rd, Vinton, VA. Both facilities offer one sheet of ice. surfaces of 200' x 85'. A snack bar will be open, and various vendors will be offering items for sale. There are numerous restaurants and stores located within one mile of each of the rink. ADMISSION Admission will be charged daily. AWARDS Adults: $5 Students (4-18 Years): $5 Children (3 & Younger): FREE Admission with Super Pass: FREE All registered athletes receive a complimentary Athlete Credential in the athlete packet. The Athlete Credential will get athletes into all sports venues and special events. Credentialed coaches of registered SGA athletes will gain complimentary access to all Figure Skating SGA event facilities only. Spectator Event Pass $15 - Access to all special events (except for Opening Ceremony) - Access to all sports venues * Please note that the Spectator Event Pass does not include Admission Opening Ceremony Super Pass $20 - Access to all special events - Access to all sports venues - One Spectator Opening Ceremonies Ticket Additional information regarding the Super Pass Event Pass can be found here: * Please note The Opening Ceremonies will be a ticketed event. Tickets may be purchased at: Custom State Games of America gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event.

4 CHECK-IN Event check-in will be open at each facility at least one hour before the first event and run through the last event of the day. The check-in table will be located in the lobby of each facility on the first floor. Official State Games of America check-in will be located at the LaHaye Event Space located across the parking lot from LaHaye Ice Center. More details regarding the official check-in will be ed to all participants. COACHES Registered figure skating coaches will receive a special Coach Pass, which will give them access to both ice rink facilities during the competition. Only registered coaches with a Coach Pass and appropriate USFS credentials will be allowed access to the venue(s). U.S. Figure Skating Rule MR 5.11 Coach Registration For Compete USA ONLY Coaches - Any person, 18 and older, instructing in a U.S. Figure Skating Learn to Skate USA must have successfully passed the annual background screen, complete coach registration, and have completed the Safe Sport biannual course. If a coach cannot provide a photo I.D. and is not on the list or cannot produce the necessary documents, he or she will not be allowed a credential no exceptions. We strongly urge all coaches to have their cards with them. Non-credentialed coaches will not be permitted in the designated coaching area at rink side during events including practice sessions. Coaching at U.S. Figure Skating events without compliance is an ethics violation which is reported to U.S. Figure Skating and PSA. 5 LIABILITY LATE FEES for entries received after 6/1/19: $45 TEAM REGISTRATIONS: There must be a single team contact that registers each team separately for the following events: USFSA Showcase, Theater on Ice ISI Couple Spotlight, Family Spotlight, Ensemble, Production Team, Theater Productions, Synchronized Skating, Jump and Spin Team When you register the team you will need to provide the following information: i. Team Contact this will be the contact information for a primary person who will be responsible for the team ii. Team Name this will be the name of the team used on the skating orders and in the program. iii. Number of team members iv. The team roster for each of the team members, you will need the following information: 1. Skater first and last name 2. Skater DOB 3. Skater highest test passed 4. Skater USFSA or ISI number Entry fees will not be refunded for any reason unless no competition exists or is cancelled. No exceptions will be made. There will be no refunds for medical withdrawals. Online processing fees are not refundable. Checks returned for non-sufficient funds will be assessed a $25 fee. Payment of the fee will be required before skater is allowed to participate in practice ice or events. A hard copy of your music (CD) should be readily available at the competition should any error occur with the audio file submitted. Should a hard copy be used, you may be picked it up at the registration table following each event. Every reasonable care will be taken, but the State Games of America cannot be responsible for CDs left at the end of the competition. Music for Solo Patten Dance and Pro-Am Dance will be provided, if appropriate.

6 PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY Photography and Videography may be made available during the competition for both competition surfaces. More information regarding Photography and Videography offerings to be release soon! PRACTICE ICE Practice ice will be available based on the final competition schedule and may be purchased online through EntryEeze. More information on practice times will be posted on EntryEeze throughout the registration process. Practice ice will be sold for $15 per 20 minute session (pre-sale) or $20 at the door. 9 EVENT: EXCEL FREE SKATE General event parameters: - Skaters may not enter both a Well-Balanced Free Skate event and an Excel Free Skate event at the same non-qualifying competition. - Skaters will skate to the music of their choice. Vocal music is permitted at all levels. - Level will be determined by the highest Free Skate test passed. Skaters may compete at the highest level they have passed, or skate up to one level higher.
