2 Venue Sportpark Overvecht Noord Manitobadreef CH Utrecht The Netherlands Kingsday The King Bowl takes place in the weekend following Kingsday (April 27). This year the tournament is directly after Kingsday which means that most teams will come in during Kingsday. While the event is a must experience it can cause some inconvenience. Please beware that the Utrecht City Centre will be closed to all traffic starting 6 pm on Thursday evening April 26, until 8 pm on Friday April 27. Trains from and to the Airport will run as usual. They might be a bit busier and filed with people wearing orange. The good news. Kingsday is a unique cultural experience with all night street parties (Thursday night) and more festivities (music / parties) all through the city on Friday. Have fun. Wear orange if you want to blend in. Directions Car: Use interstate A2 or A27 to get to the N230. Turn onto the Fransiscusdreef, take the first right onto the Floridadreef. Continue it to the end where you have to turn left at a sports facility onto the Manitobadreef. Our facility is at the other end of that street. The entrance gate is marked with a red sign showing our logo. Public Transportation: On Saturday and Sunday you can take bus 3 (to Zuilen or Overvecht) and get off at the stop called Fransiscusdreef. Or you can take bus 1 (to Vechtsebanen) and get off at the stop called Vechtsebanen. From there it is a 7 minute walk to our facility. 3 Changing rooms We have two big changing rooms available for all the men/mix teams. Teams will be divided by group and start time to minimize crowdedness. For the women we have one separate changing room available. Since the changing rooms are shared and won t be locked we strongly advice everybody to take their personal belongings with them to the field. All locker rooms are fitted with showers. Field The tournament will be played on 4 natural grass and 1 artificial grass field. You can use the same cleats for both fields. Money At the tournament you can pay with cash or with card. Our system accepts most debit/credit cards. In case you want to withdraw cash money, there s an ATM not far from our facility. It is located at the intersection of the Floridadreef and Franciscusdreef inside the Jumbo Supermarket. Food There will be a concession stand and bar at the field. It will sell sandwiches, fries, burgers, sausages and drinks. Water The organization will provide teams with free bottles of water at the beginning of each tournament day. You can collect your bottles at the Tournament Leader Table, next to the fields. In Netherlands it is perfectly safe to drink the water straight from the tap so the empty bottles can be refilled at any time. Please return empty bottles to our food stand. Trash The organization will set up trash cans alongside the pitches and close to the food tent. We kindly request everybody use these to dispose of their trash. Please notify someone from the organization when a trash can is full. Medic Throughout the tournament there will be first responders (EHBO) on site. They can be consulted for all injuries. Participants must be insured for medical assistance in the unfortunate case of a trip to the hospital.

4 Tournament rules 1. First mentioned team starts on offense in the first half 2. Second mentioned team starts on defense and gets to pick a side 3. Tournament Leader Table will signal the start and finish of all games. 4. Matches will be played according to 2017 IFAF Flag Football 5x5 rules. 5. Games will be 2x12 minutes, running clock with a 2-minute warning and 2 minute half times. 6. Due to the short time period false starts, blitz block and delay of game penalties will result in a loss of down (instead of the usual penalty yardage) 7. The offense has 20 seconds to get a play off. The play clock starts as soon as the ball is declared ready to play by the referees. 8. There will be an audible 2 minute warning given in the first and second half 9. During halftime teams will switch sides, Offense starts defense and vice versa. 10. During halftime and when the games are finished, the Tournament Leader Table announces the following round. 11. In case of an injury on one field all games will be stopped. The Tournament Leader table will give a signal to resume play. 12. There are no time outs. 13. Referees assigned to the matches will pick up a clipboard with a score sheet, IFAF penalties summary, pen, whistle and referee flag at the Tournament Leader Table. 14. Referees (at least 3) are placed on the line of scrimmage, blitz line and behind the Offense. 15. Saturday is a league format, draws can happen, games will not be subject to overtime. 16. Sunday overtime will be decided by a 1-point conversion series. Teams each get 1 try to score. The game is over when one teams scores and the other doesn t. 17. Flags must have a contrasting color to the shorts. 18. Only completely soft headwear is allowed (no stiff billed caps, not even backwards). 19. A player can only play for one team in a discipline throughout the competition. An exception is made on day two in the lower tiers when borrowing a player is crucial to assure that a game can be played. 20. Boys under 16 are allowed to participate in the women s tournament. 21. Intentionally harming an opponent - by for example tackling /targetting - will result in an ejection. Severe or repeated violations of conduct and sportsmanship will result in an exclusion from participating during the entire remainder of the tournament. Final Ranking rules The final ranking will be determined as followed: 1. Overall W-L record 2. Head to Head 3. Points Difference 4. Points Scored 5. Points Against 6. Coin toss

5 Tournament setup Men / mix: The tournament starts with a group stage. The top 2 of each group will advance to the 1-8 placement games. Via quarter and semi finals they can try to reach the tournament championship game. All #3 s will battle with each other for 9-12 placement, all #4 s for 13-16, etc.. Women: The women will start play in a league set up. Facing each other twice before going into a playoff mode. The 1 st seed will play the 4 th seed and 2 nd seed will play 3 rd seed. After that round there will be a Grand Final between the two winners. After the tournament is over, we will have a prize ceremony with a trophy for every team. Player party We have secured the common area at The Fifth as the location for the player party. It is inside the StayOkay Utrecht hostel. Address is Neude 5. The Fifth is conveniently located at Neude square in the heart of the city. It s a great place to start you night out from. There will be a DJ playing from 8pm.
