Of which 17 species, viz. Basilepta makiharai, Colaspoides nepalensis, Chrysolina tangalaensis, Pyrrhalta tatesuji, Stenolupems thudamensis, Stenolupems emotoi, Sastmcella collaris, Amphimela subgeminata, Aphlhona basantapurica, Aphthona dobangensis, Hespera strigiceps, Luperomorpha nepalica, Manobia shimai, Manobidia major, Sphaeroderma nakanishii, Tegyrius piceus and Dactylispa plalycanthoides, are described as newspecies. Basilepta nepalense Chujo is treated as a new synonym of Cleorina jacobyi Duvivier. In total, 32 species are recorded for the first time from Nepal. Preface Agood number of chrysomelid beetles were collected by the Kyushu University Scientific Expedition to Nepal Himalaya in 1971 and This paper is a result of my study on the material. The material was collected by Drs. H. Shima, A. Nakanishi, J. Emoto, H. Makihara and Y. Nishida, and Liaison Officer, Tula Bahador Serchant, and Sherpa,Juamvang Tenzing and Pemba Norbu. The type specimens are preserved in the Biosystematics Laboratory, Graduate School of Social and Cultural Studies, Kyushu University, Fukuoka. I am grateful to the authority of the Kyushu University Scientific Expedition to Nepal Himalayas, who gave me the opportunity to study this interesting material, and of the Kitakyushu Museum and Institute of Natural History, who made possible to publish this paper. Fig. lg Colaspoides montana: Kimoto & Takizawa, 1973, Kontyu, Tokyo, 41(2): 176 (Nepal). Body bolong oval; generally bronzy black with greenish luster; head with labrum reddish brown; antenna reddish brown with one or two apical segments slightly infucate; ventral surfaces generally pitchy black; legs reddish brown with tibiae pitchy brown, in dark colored specimens tibiae also infuscate. Head closely and strongly punctate, vertex with a shallow longitudinal furrow at middle. Antenna slender, filiform, nearly % as long as body length; first segment robust, slightly curved; second robust, nearly %as long as first; third near three times as long as second and slenderer, and third to tenth nearly as long as length, but stouter than preceding; eleventh slightly longer than tenth and its apex pointed. Pronotum transverse, convex from side to side, nearly twice as wide as long, and widest at "A from basal margin, strongly narrowed anteriorly and less strongly so posteriorly; basal margin widely rounded posteriorly and slightly produced posteriorly at middle; anterior margin nearly straight at middle and dis tinctly produced anteriorly at sides; dorsal surface closely impressed by large punc tures throughout, and interstices of punctures narrower than average diameter of punctures, and impressed by minute punctures. Scutellum subpentagonal, smooth, shining, impunctate. Elytron widestat humeral region, slightlywider than pronotum and gradually narrowed posteriorly; dorsal surface strongly convex, closely covered by strong punctures which are not regularly arranged but entirely irregularly impressed, and interstices of punctures smooth, shining and with trans verse rugose laterally. Length: mm. Holotype: Kathmandu, Godavari ( m), 25. viii. 1972, Pemba Norbu. Paratypes: 3 exs., same data as the holotype; 7 exs., Anbote (900 m) Taplejung (1800 m), 25. vi H. Makihara; 1 ex., Dharan Bazar (450 m) Darapani (1500 m), 10. vi. 1972, H. Makihara. This new species resembles Colaspoides montata Jacoby, 1900, from Assam, in having the legs fulvus and the dorsal surfaces metallic colored, but differs in having the elytron with transverse rugose only on lateral portion, and head and pronotum more strongly puunctate.
