14 OEN S COPETITIONS GENERAL Conditions of play are displayed in the omen s locker room. ednesday: 18-hole competition played in 3 divisions provided sufficient entries are received. Tee times from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (Start time is 8:30 a.m. in Daylight Saving). 9-hole competition is played at 11:00 a.m. (10:30 a.m. in Daylight Saving). Saturday: 18-hole competition played in one or more divisions depending on the numbers of players. Open time sheet applies with women taking advantage of a block of time between 9.30 and 10.30am but women are eligible to play outside of this time frame. 14

Penalties may be applied for non-compliance. 15

16 HOLES IN ONE If a ember has a Hole in One during a Club competition round, he/she shall receive a voucher to the value of $100, as well as the Eagles Nest award. All holes in one will be recorded on the Club s Honour Board in the embers Lounge. The ball UST be handed to the Captain with all relevant details so that the ball can be mounted in readiness for Presentation Night. Non-compliance may cause an error or omission on the Club s Honour Board. EAGLES NEST An Eagles Nest award of a minimum of 3 golf balls will be presented to any member who achieves an Eagle during a listed club competition. (Subject to conditions relating to multiple winners below). The Eagles nest will accumulate at the rate of two balls per week. In the event of multiple winners during on any given day, the number of balls in the Eagles nest will be divided as equitably as possible between each winner. LOCAL RULES Local rules are printed on the back of the scorecard. Any temporary local rules in force on any day will be displayed on the Notice Board outside the Pro Shop. All players should take the time to check for any new Local Rules before every round. All players must carry and use a sand bucket to repair any divot marks around the course. Buggies must be fitted with slicks. 16

17 Practice: A ember paying on the course on his/her own shall not play more than two balls. ultiple practice balls on any parts of the course are prohibited. The 10 th fairway is the designated practice fairway and more than two balls may be played from the designated area adjacent to the 10 th tee. DRESS CODE embers, guests and other patrons are requested to dress in a neat, clean and tidy manner and are asked to observe the following dress standards on the course and in the clubhouse at all times: On the Course: 1. Collared polo shirts and shirts in keeping with current golf fashion trends, including turtleneck shirts. 2. Easily visible socks must accompany shorts on course, unless wearing approved golf sandals. 3. Acceptable golf footwear is required on course. In the Clubhouse: 4. The following items of clothing / dress are NOT permitted in the Clubhouse: Singlets, Football Shorts, Dirty and or Torn Clothing, Dirty work wear (Including shoes), Clothing displaying obscene Logos or riting, Hats, Caps, Beanies etc. and Bare Feet. 5. Committee, anagement and Staff reserve the right to determine the meaning of neat, clean and tidy applied to the above criteria. Your compliance with these minimal standards is greatly appreciated. 17

18 COPETITION PLAYING CONDITIONS Full details of playing conditions are posted on the Club Notice Board. In all Honour Board events where Gross and Net trophies are awarded, the Gross trophy takes precedence. Visitors are not eligible to win Honour Board events. ELIGIBILITY FOR TROPHIES: here an Honour Board event has provision for both Gross and Net winners, a member (or members for team play) will be eligible to win both Gross and Net trophies. here only a Gross trophy is awarded and the same person (or team) has achieved the best Gross and Net result, the next highest Net score will be acknowledged as the Net winner for that event. CLUB CHAPIONSHIP A seeded draw will be in place for the final round for each grade. In the event of a tie for winner of the Club Championship or Junior Club Championship (lowest aggregate Gross score over all four rounds) the winner will be decided by a playoff over 18 holes. In the event of the contest still being tied after an 18-hole playoff, there will be a sudden death playoff to decide the winner. Ties in Gross events for Grades B, C, D and Veterans to be decided on a count back using the last 18 hole round. If still tied, a countback will be done, as per an eighteen hole round, using the last eighteen hole card. Ties in Net events for all grades will be decided on a count back on the final round. To be eligible to play in the Junior Club Championship all players must be under the age of 18 years on the 1 st July in the year the competition commences. 18

19 cinerney FISCHER TROPHY & cdonald CUP ENTRY CONDITIONS Intending competitors must indicate their intention to compete in the knockout rounds by entering their names on the entry sheet in the pro-shop prior to the commencement of the first round. Notes: 1. Entering your name and contact phone number on the entry sheet indicates permission to display the phone number on the seeded draw. Should you choose not to enter a phone number, it will be your responsibility to arrange contact with your opponent. 2. Knockout atches must be played, and the result recorded on the embers Lounge (foyer) Notice Board result sheet immediately after each knockout round is played. 3. If the result is not posted after the completion of both knockout matches, both teams will be disqualified. 4. Knockout rounds, if played on a Saturday, should be played after the regular field. Alternatively, whilst prior play is permitted, a tee booking must be made, as it is compulsory that all matches commence at the 1st tee. All play must be from the (BLUE) Championship markers, except when temporary tees are in play, when markers for the day should be used. The atch Play Index on the scorecard must be used for these two events. ATCH REFEREE: The atch Referee is always the Captain or a person appointed by the atch Committee. Should he/she not be available to adjudicate either in person or by telephone, then the Vice Captain or the most senior atch Committee member available and in that order shall assume responsibility on the day. 19

20 4BBB EVENTS In 4BBB events where there are 3 players in a group, the lowest handicapped player will partner both other Players. i.e.: - Player A will partner Player B and simultaneously partner Player C. One entry fee only for Player A, who will only be eligible for one trophy. (This playing arrangement is not permitted in the cinerney Fischer Trophy, Foursomes events or 2 Person Ambrose events). cinerney Fischer competitors may only partner each other whilst competing in the qualifying rounds. If one partner is unavailable for all or part of a round then the holes to be completed must be so done singly. STIPULATED ROUND A stipulated round (See Rules of Golf), is from the 1st Tee through to the 18th Green and only in that order. Applies to ALL competitions unless the competition rules of the day provide otherwise. TEE TIES Players should report to the starter 15 minutes before hit-off time. A time sheet generally operates on all competition days and Public Holidays, 7.00am through to 1.00pm. Late arrivals may be relegated to a later time, or completely removed from the field at the discretion of the starter. The starter has the right to alter groupings to ensure the smooth flow of the competition. Failure to telephone the starter (phone if for any reason you are unable to attend at your selected start time) will incur the attention of the atch Committee. OFFENDERS AY HAVE COPETITION RIGHTS SUSPENDED. 20

21 GENERAL RULES otorised Golf Carts The use of otorised Golf Carts (Ride-on, including bikes) is prohibited in Honour Board events, including Qualifying Rounds. Exceptions: (a) edically certificated Players who have prior approval of the atch Committee or of the Captain when such medical incapacity is of recent origin. (b) embers 60 years of age or over. I any such use by ALL players using a otorised Cart whether as Driver or Passenger must, in an Honour Board event, record such use on their scorecard. Any ember may use a cart in ordinary club events. Restrictions Golf Carts and other motorized transport must be driven: Never closer than 8 metres to any portion of any green unless impractical. On pathways where provided, otherwise not closer than 5 metres to any tee. Carts etc. UST avoid wet areas and trees with low branches. Such usage is a privilege not a right. Kindly adhere to these simple rules. JUNIORS PLAYING IN SENIORS EVENTS: Juniors with a handicap higher than 12 playing in Senior Competitions must have their card marked by a senior, or a junior whose handicap is 12 or lower. PACE OF PLAY No player shall play until the players in front are out of range. Players shall play without delay. Your atch Committee considers that a reasonable round of golf (stroke in 4s) breaches Rule 6-7 should it exceed 4 hours 20 minutes. The Rules of Golf provide penalties for SLO PLAY. 21

PAY DUE RESPECT TO SAFETY ON THE FAIRAY AND COURTESY ON THE GREEN hen the result of a hole has been determined, the players should immediately leave the putting green. To save valuable minutes, players should leave their bag and buggy at the point nearest to the next tee and the first person to tee off on the next hole should record his or her score after hitting their drive. Remember Play READY GOLF VISITORS embers of Golf Clubs affiliated with Golf Australia who are introduced by a member may, on payment of applicable competition fees, enter the Club Competition. Visitors are not eligible to win Honour Board events. In accordance with Rule 33.1 our club playing conditions require ALL visitors playing in club competitions to state their Home Club and Golf Link number on their scorecard. embers of Clubs not affiliated with Golf Link are excused the number requirement but should state, Not affiliated. This is the responsibility of both the Host ember and the Visitor. 22

23 ITHDRAAL OF HANDICAP The handicap of a member may be withdrawn if he/she fails to carry out his/her duties as above. ETIQUETTE No one shall move, talk, use a mobile phone or stand close by or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke. If a player considers their mobile phone essential, the player must notify all others in the group prior to commencing play and assist others by setting their phone to Silent. Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully repair the area and replace the rake in the flat area of the bunker, nearest to access points, pointing in the direction of play. Replace all divots through the green and judiciously use the sand bucket. Etiquette requires that all embers approach the course for play (whether such play is for a Competition, a atch or round) through the Pro Shop. If for any reason the players need to be contacted, it is essential that the Pro Shop has knowledge of their whereabouts. embers are entitled to get the maximum enjoyment out of their golf, but it is also their duty to observe the rules and eetiquette of the game so that fellow competitors may also enjoy their game. 24 GOLF GAES Foursomes (Including ixed) A Teams event (two) Handicap = One half of aggregate stroke handicap. Players play alternately from the tee and alternate shots on the remainder of each hole. Penalties do not affect the playing of alternate shots. Scoring is as in a stroke round. American Foursomes (Including ixed) also known as Pinehurst or Chapmans A Teams event (two) Handicap = Three eighths of aggregate stroke handicap for all players. Both players play from the tee. Each player then plays one shot with their partner s ball. They then decide which ball is to be played. The Owner of the ball plays the next shot and this ball is then played alternately for the remainder of the hole. Canadian Foursomes (Including ixed) A Teams event (two) Handicap = Three eighths of aggregate stroke handicap. Both players play from the tee and then decide on which ball is to be played. The selected ball is then played alternately for the remainder of the hole. Irish Four Ball (Including ixed) A Teams event (four) Handicap = Standard handicaps are used. Each player plays their own ball and the score recorded on the card is the best two STABLEFORD scores by any two of the four in the team. Common variations are to randomly select additional holes where one, two, three or all scores are to count. Four ball best ball stroke A Teams event (two) Handicap = Standard handicaps are used. Each player plays his own ball and at the completion of the hole the best net score is recorded, 24

25 Four Ball Stableford ultiplier A Teams event (two). Standard handicaps are used. Each player plays their own ball. The result is achieved by multiplying the Stableford scores on each hole. Four ball Accumulative Par or Stableford, A Teams event (two). Each player plays their own ball. The result is achieved by adding the Par or Stableford score on each hole. ulligan A good event for Fund Raising days. A Singles event. Handicap = Standard handicaps are used. Player s pre purchase ulligan options (say $1 per option, usually in bundles of 5) and may exercise an option to discard a poor shot and play again without penalty by the spending of that option. The option is purely to purchase another shot, options cannot be used simply to discard a shot i.e. to say reduce shots played from 5 to 3. Any of Stroke, Par or Stableford competitions may be used. Ambrose A team event. Teams can be two, three or four players. Handicap Adjustment = see table on next page. Each player plays a tee shot. Choose the "preferred" ball, which must be played from where it comes to rest. Ball must be marked if played first.
