It s a Black Swan alright There s something called the Black Swan Theory. It describes an Event, so rare and unpredicted, that it shocks all. It Changes the Game. Forever. Even though unpredicted, after the fact, it seems totally obvious. In golf, there have been several Black Swan Events. The Haskell Ball. Steel Shafts. The Sand Wedge. One Tough Texan overcoming The Crash. God creating Titanium. Introducing... Golf s next Black Swan. The Black Swan Putter. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Wow!... It s Big That s the normal first reaction, to seeing the Black Swan Putter. One Major Winner asked if we made a bigger model... (jokingly). But then he putted with it. And putted some more. No more jokes. Suddenly, the focus changed. Putts went in from short distances, middle distances footers looked in the hole the whole way. Clean Feel... Really Great Balance... Stable Like No Other And then the Data from Comparative Trials... One Top 100 Teaching Pro was 89% better than with his putter. Everybody was better... No Exceptions. The least so far? 14% Now suddenly, Every Other Putter Looks to Be Shrinking. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Perfect Geometry... Conceived in a Flash The Compound Angle Alignment Error Flaw. Who knew? Putters for decades have been fooling their owners. Golfers thought they were lined up correctly... and they were... Almost. Not quite. OK, Not at all. In reality the face-plane of all other putters is only correct to the line imagined in one magical hand position, nowhere else. You aim straight, but face points at the edge of the 30 feet. That is, if you don t putt with Our Putters. We use Perfect Geometry to assure that our o putter-face is always normal (90 ) to the line intended. In all positions. Always. Every Putt. No Flaws. Perfect Geometry. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
An MOI So High, we use Kilograms Sweet Spot size depends on Physics (Classical Mechanics) In this case... the Putter-Head Moment-of-Inertia. You need a bigger MOI to make more Putts. Even slight mishits result in more misses. That s why we created the Highest Putter-Head MOI ever. No other putter even comes close... Triple the MOI of so-called High MOI putters. All High-MOI putters 7,000 to 9,000 g-cm2 Compare... Our Black 21,000 g-cm2 (21kg-cm2) and Our Black 23,000 g-cm2 (23kg-cm2). You ll Make More Putts... Even on Mis-hits. Your Finest Moments in Golf. In whatever Units. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
The Real Three-Ball Putter The Number One Putter Company in Golf has quite a reputation. Lots of fancy designs. Lots of different Models. No Balls. One Ball. Two Balls. Three Balls. Makes you wonder? Are they all about the same? In other words, they must all be about equal in performance... Otherwise why make so many? We ll tell you why. They re still searching for the Holy Grail. Even the name says they re (taking you?) on a Long Painful Quest. As much as we admire the character Odysseus, the Quest is Over. Announcing the World s First Real Three Ball Putter. With a Huge Sweet-Spot... Three-Balls-Wide. Try it for yourself. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
The Proof is in the Putting Science has a Final Step. The Trial. We conducted comparative Trials with Players of all Levels. Using their existing putter, and Ours, side by side. Same putts. Make % Trials (One-Putt)... Proximity Trials (Three-Putt) Everyone who tested was better with Our Putters. Everyone. We were surprised too. We knew it was good. But everyone? We re still searching for that first tester to putt worse with us. We can t find him (or her). It s not like we re not trying. If we find such a golfer, we intend to issue a Press Release. How Much will You Improve? Find Out for Yourself. Take the Trial. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Why You need a PGA Pro Putting Lesson OK, so You are looking at Our Putters. That s nice. But before You buy one, know this... the Putter is the Tool... But the Process of Putting Better is what We are focused on. We did Our job. We designed the Best Performing Putters Ever. But that s just one part of the entire process of Putting Better. The Fitting is important too... our PGA Pro Partner will see to it. But that s still not all. We want to complete the process... Take a Putting Lesson. On Us. We ll provide a Free Putting Lesson, thanks to Our PGA Partner. It s Our way of saying Thank You g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Beam Me Up! Putter Science... is it Science Fact? or Science Fiction? A simple way to find out, is to ask the tough questions. Ask Your Putter Designer... Why is my putter Sweet Spot so tiny? Why do all my longer putts bounce so much? Why does my putter feel so different each day? Why is my putter designed with a built-in alignment flaw? And How come I one-putt so seldom, and three-putt so much? The Cap n Kirk types didn t have the answers... We Do. And we ll tell it to you straight, if you care to learn and improve. Read On. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Our Challenge There are 1500 Putters on the Market Today. 700 are knock-offs of the Ping Anser. The Anser was a brilliant achievement... But it s 30 years since. Why has it been so long since a Breakthru has been designed? Simple. Club designers are told what to design by Marketing. Not one of them figured out what we will now tell you... Every putter has a fatal Flaw... Every putter is far from Optimum. But not Ours. We re so confident, Our Designer will Out-Putt any other designer. And don t forget to bring that latest fancy Anser knock-off, boys! 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
No Tricks. No Gimmicks. Just Physics. Bad Putting ruins more Golf rounds than one would imagine. But the Putting Process is fairly simple, it would seem. Just roll the ball into the hole. Anybody can do it. So why doesn t everybody Putt well? More importantly to you... do you Putt well enough now? We didn t think so either. That s why we designed the Black Hawk and Black Swan Putters. Putters that are designed with Performance as the reason. Putters that show You really are a better putter than you think. Putters that make the Game of Golf a pleasure for all players. Enjoy Putting again. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Are You Sure it s Legal? Sure. It is. Really. Legal. But We Understand Why You Ask... All these Equipment Companies... All these R&D dollars... Why didn t anybody ever do all this before? Surely, it must be Illegal. No... it s Legal. USGA Decisions and were issued. In them the Black Swan and Black Hawk were ruled conforming. So why didn t all those other companies do all this long ago? Good question. Ask them. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
What? No Fancy Insert? Putter Designers Love to Make Faces. Exotic Face Materials. Special Face Grooves. Even Face Inserts. Why? Marketing. It sure ain t Physics. Think Impulse Time. Impulse Time is the split second that the ball is on the Face. You want the Impulse Time to be as consistent as possible. Inserts, Grooves, and Fancy Face Materials cause Variance. Face Insert Polymers vary in hardness and resiliency. Face Grooves vary the Ball Strike dynamics. In all these cases, Face Time will vary. We use a Polished naturally Low-Friction Face Surface. Face Facts. Make Putts. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Are these Eyes just for Show? No. Oh... You want to know why... I m sorry. Simple... they re Feedback Pockets. We give You a Huge Sweet Spot. But we don t want You to get Lazy. If You miss the Putter s Center of Mass, You ll Know It. Not because You ll Miss the Putt. Because the Sound and Feel will let You Know. So You won t be punished... Just Informed. So... Now You Know. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Can I get one with Some Loft? Sure. If You want to make fewer Putts. Loft on a Putter was a necessity 40 years ago. Greens were bad. OK, let s not say bad... but definitely not the carpets of today. Putters needed a couple degrees of loft to help compensate. That all changed in the 70 s. But Putter Makers stuck with Loft. Loft can be bad in several ways. Bounce on Long Putts. Skid on Shorter Putts. It Increases Compound Angle Error causing Misses. Hitting the Ball below the CG increases Distance Variance. Just Roll Balls with Our Putter, and with Your Own (the Lofty one). See? 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
No Dot? Where s the Sweet Spot? Putters have been made with dots, grooves, lines for aligning. We don t. And there s a darn good reason for that. When your Sweet Spot is the Size of a Pea, maybe it makes sense. But when the Sweet Spot is Balls Wide, it sure doesn t. Your subconscious will redirect your stroke if there s a dot... Meaning, You ll probably twist the face in the Process. Missing the Putt completely. Darn Subconscious!?%@#$ Putt with Our Putters, and Your Subconscious Will Be On Your Side. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Our End Result... More Made Putts More Made Putts... The Holy Grail of Putter Designers Everywhere. More Made Putts. Isn t that what you re looking for in a Putter? We guarantee you more One-Putts, and fewer Three-Putts. How can we guarantee this? Easy. God s natural Laws. Geometry is the same every day. It never changes. Physics is the same every day. It never changes. We use geometry to design better Putters. We use physics to design better Putters. Ergo, Our Putters make More Putts. And that will never change. Thanks to Geometry. And Physics. Amen. Now Go Make Some Putts. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
What a PGA Professional did for me. As a boy, a great PGA Professional taught me all about golf. Grip. Stance. Swing. Woods. Irons. Putters. Balls. Shafts. Grips. Tools. Rules. Etiquette. Sportsmanship. History. Courses. Players. Championships. How to Win. But more importantly, how to be a Gentleman. The Lessons lasted a lifetime, and extended far beyond Golf. We d like to express appreciation to all PGA Pros. Especially Don Barber, PGA Life Member. Friend. Coach. Teacher. A Real Pro. Thanks, Don, for everything. 440g, 23kg-cm2 MOI, Perfect Geometry BLACK SWAN CONFORMS
Introducing the Black Hawk The Black Hawk Putter by Orion Golf... Flat Sole... Puts Putter in Perfect Position. Unbelievably High Moment-Of-Inertia... 21Kg-cm2 Huge Sweet Spot... Nearly Three Balls Wide on Face Perfect Geometry... Face always Normal to Intended Line. Polished Low-Friction Face... No Grooves to Trap Debris. Clean Shape... Simple, Intuitive Lines and Surfaces. Face Balanced... Smoothest Stroking Putter in Golf Extremely Durable... Sapphire Coating We could go on and on... Just Putt with It for Five Minutes. Then Tell Us.
Our Engineering Team Pythagoras. Galileo Galilei. Isaac Newton. Blaise Pascal. Thomas Edison. Henry Ford. Geometry. Physics. Mechanics. Math. Ingenuity. Common Sense. They didn t Design Putters. But if they did, it d be something like The Black Hawk and the Black Swan Putters. We know, because we used their thinking. 100%. Read On.
Face It, the Face Matters In Putting, it s all about Face-Time. By that, we mean having the Putter-Face Square at Impact. o By Square, we mean Normal (90 ) to the Intended Line. But the Faces of all other Putters are NOT Normal. By that, we mean they are only Normal in one magical position. Nowhere Else. And You don t know where that position is. In fact, You cannot even find that position as a human. Our Putters are ALWAYS in a Face Normal Position. Pythagoras would call it Perfect. Perfect Geometry. The New Normal.
If not a True Pendulum, Timing s the Pits Galileo figured it out. Clockmakers knew and used it. Why don t Putter makers? It s about Time. For a Pendulum to swing best, it needs a longer effective length. In other words, the weight should be in the head end, not the grip. Some (Heavy?) design putters with backweights in the grip end... Causing a shift of the balance point far from the head, to the grip. The result? Like swinging a hammer from the wrong end. Tough to Time. We use our head. So we put the weight in the Head. Not the Grip. Galileo knew better. We do too. Put Timing on your side...
MOI... Newton Knew, and We Do Too Everyone thinks they hit the Sweet Spot of their Putter-face. But not even the best Tour Pros hit Dead-Putter-Center. Even a few millimeters off Center can result in a Miss. That s why we created the Highest Putter-head MOI ever. No other putter even comes close... Triple the MOI of so-called High MOI putters. All High-MOI putters 7,000 to 9,000 g-cm2 Compare... Our Black 21,000 g-cm2 and Our Black 23,000 g-cm2. You ll Make More Putts... Even on Mis-hits. Your Finest Moments in Golf. Thanks to Sir Isaac.
A Two Million Dollar Putter for $259? All depends on whose Hands it s in, Blaise Pascal would say. We use his robust Statistical Probability Testing Techniques. Our testing shows we increase One-Putt probability by over 15%. It also shows reduction of Three-Putts nearly by half. To Tour Players, just 10% more One-Putts is 3 shots in 4 rounds. Moves the 150th Money Winner up to 70th position. Moves the 100th Money Winner up to 16th. Moves the 50th Money Winner into the Top Five. The average difference in Earnings? Over $2 million. You might not be Tour Player. But Making More Putts is priceless. The Black Hawk. Blazing the Trail.
Genius is 1% Inspiration 99% Perspiration Thomas Edison said that. He should know better than anyone. Ingenuity is a wonderful thing. It makes our lives better... But only if it has a chance to be turned into a useful product. And Product Performance is the true test of ingenuity. We re no geniuses. But we learned from those who were. Our idea, that Putters needed to perform better was just a start. It took millions of moments of sweating the details to do it. The result? Judge for yourself. Try Our Putters. Then tell us... Does the Light Bulb go off over your head too? Thanks for the Illumination, Mr. Edison.
Any Color You Want, so long as it s Black Henry Ford was my hero as a boy. My Grandfather was a toolmaker for Mister Ford from 1919 to 1959 (the year I was born). I read Ford s books. Studied his methods. Used his techniques. Ford was a man who utilized above all, Robust Common Sense. The Model-T was a great example of Common Sense applied. We incorporate Mr. Ford s methods in every detail of Our Putters. Simple... a one piece Aircraft Alloy forged block. Precise... Numeric Control Machined to Perfection. Efficient... Mass where it helps. Not where it doesn t. Durable... Sapphire Coating (hard almost to diamond). Universal Design... Works well with all levels of Golfers. How d we do, Grandpa?
Why the PGA Professional is Who we Trust When we told Business and Marketing geniuses about our plan to sell only through PGA Professionals, they choked on their coffee. What? Are you nuts? Everybody buys Online these days! But can a website see your grip? Stance? Stroke? Can a telemarketer give you a putting lesson? Does the UPS man assure a perfect fit? Now, nothing against websites, telemarketers, or UPS guys. But they re not PGA Professionals. We d like to thank the 15,000 plus PGA Professional community, For all they do for golfers across the country. Thank you.
You Deserve a Custom Fit Most Putters are bought off the rack, or even sight unseen. We think that is... well, to say it frankly... short-sighted. You need a Putter to Fit You properly, to Putt at your best. We provide 15 Lie Angles in One Degree (1 o ) Increments (+7/-7). We provide any legal shaft length... and putter grip choices. Custom for others is Standard for Us. You re going to Use Our Putter for a long, long time. We want only a Perfectly Fit Putter in Your Hands. Our PGA Professional Fitters will help make it happen. Custom Fit to You.
Life is Unfair... Even the Odds Who Says Life is Fair? Is it Fair You weren t born into wealth? Is it Fair that the other Kids got more Toys? Is it Fair that the Your Brother got the Top Bunk? Is it Fair that Your High School Coach benched You? Is it Fair that Your Best Friend Married Your Sweetheart? Is it Fair that Your Boss gave that Promotion to a Bootlicker? Fair? Heck No. Fight Back... the Only Way that s... well, Fair. Put the Black Hawk Putter in Your Bag. Make More Putts. Way More. That ll Teach Em.
It s Not Our Sole Achievement But it s the Sole Putter that really does it. The Sole, that is. It s Flat. It puts the Putter in the same Orientation Every Day. So Your Hand Position and Setup will Never Vary. Which means, You ll Putt More Consistently. It also helps us Control the Face Position. It s a Key part of Our Putter s Perfect Geometry. It s not the Sole Reason to Use Our Putters. But we re Sole d on it. You ll be too.
Ever Sink a Thirty Footer off the Heel? Of course not. Thirty Foot Putts that are hit off the Sweet Spot don t go in... Or can they? We routinely place a ball off the extreme heel or toe in tests. You d be amazed how many of those test putts are sunk. Now, you d never intentionally hit it nearly three inches off. But it demonstrates the bigger point about Our 21kg-cm2 MOI... On small mis-hits, the Ball acts like a perfect strike. On bigger mis-hits, you still have a chance to make the putt. No other Putter in the World makes so many Putts. Nobody. Just Us.
Little MOI Putters = Fewer Made Putts Don t Take Our Word for It. The VP of Technical Services of a Major Club-Fitter says this......the MOI information presented explained the relationship between the MOI of Low and High Moment putter heads and the effective sweet spot in putters. Also illustrated was the effect of off-center hits with low MOI putters vs. high MOI putters. After the presentation, a seasoned clubmaker came up to me and said Based on the information presented, why would anyone want to use anything but the highest MOI putter available? My response was I don t know. The fact is, the higher the MOI in a putter head, the better chance a player has to making putts. Compared with look, alignment features and feel, MOI ranks at the top of the list. So, if making putts is something you or your customers want to do more of, knowing which putter gives you the best chance of doing just that is vitally important. Britt Lindsey, VP Technical Services, Ralph Maltby s GolfWorks Our Breakthrough Performance Putters, The New High in MOI. 23kg-cm2 Black Swan... 21kg-cm2 Black Hawk Nobody else is close. Bye-bye, Little.
Remember 1986? If You are Old Enough, You might remember A Year for Three Dramatic Demonstrations in Applied Science January 28, The Challenger Disaster. April 26, The Chernobyl Disaster. April 13, The Greatest Ever Winning the Masters at age 46. Winning The Masters? Remember the Putter He Used? That Great Big Putter? It was slightly bigger than all other Putters, and He added weight. The larger frame size plus the mods gave it superior MOI. Not nearly as much as Our Putters... but it helped. At least one good thing happened in What a Year.
I ll Bet You Hate Breaking Putts You Won t Have To, Any More. Breaking Putts are the Toughest to Make, for several reasons. Speed Control is at a Premium. Strike Location on the Putter-Face is Critical. Your Estimation of Break is Conditioned by Prior Putting. We solve all these Issues. Our Speed Control is the Tightest in Golf by Far and Away. Our Strike Variance is the Smallest of any Putterhead in Golf. Your Break Estimation will Improve due to the above Two Factors. Breaking Putts... You ll Break Them. Not Your Putter.
When You have Momentum on Your Side... You don t want to fritter it away. Putts are usually left short because of insufficient Momentum. Your Putter Head either doesn t develop enough Momentum... Or Momentum is frittered away by a Poor Momentum Transfer. We solve both Problems. Our 10:1 ratio of Head Mass to Ball increases Head Momentum. Our More Efficient Striking 3x MOI results in less Momentum Lost. The Result? You leave fewer Putts Short, Making More of Them. Your Distance Control is better, especially on Longer Putts. Momentum... You ll Have It. Always.
Why 51 of 100 from 15 feet is (im)possible Unless You know Binomial Probability, You Won t believe this. That s OK. All that matters is that it s true, and I know it. My wife is a mathematician also. She watches me test Putters. One day, she says You re slightly better when I am not there! Of course, I responded, she s just a very pleasant distraction. She insists on refereeing me in a trial... picks a tough Putt. I miss the first five... she says, See? I make the next 9, and 51 out of 100 from 15 feet, total. Now here s the Math... If Tour Players are 20% from fifteen feet, with their Putters, The odds are 193 billion to One that any could make 51+/100. All True. It Ain t Me. It s the Putter.
