1 New London Country Club and Pomperaug Golf Course Take Top Honors Mohegan Sun Pro-Am at Wethersfield Country Club WATERFORD, Conn.(June 6, 2011) New London Country Club, led by PGA Professional Dave Rhinehart and Pomperaug Golf Course and PGA Professional Dave Cook each fired 11-under par, combined gross and net scores of 131 today at the Golf Max PGA Pro-Senior-Am #2 at New London Country Club. Rhinehart and amateur partners Tom Secchiaroli, Kevin Willoughby, and Rob Renehen along with Cook and amateurs Bill Witkowski, Bob Hill, and Jim Schettino collected $ in prize money and gift certificates. The other team from New London Country Club led by PGA Professional Kevin Shea finished tied for third with Stanley Golf Course and PGA Professional Kyle Hedstom at 10-under-par 132. In the individual professional competition, Rhinehart, shot a 1-under-par 70 to tie Paul Miller of Newtown Country Club and each win $ Rhinehart mad four birdies and a costly double bogey on 13, which Miller four birdies and an eagle. The 2011 Mohegan Sun Pro-Am Series consists of seven tournaments, including the Team Championship, which will be held on Monday, October 10. The tournaments take place throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts and are conducted by the Connecticut Section PGA. Pro-Am tournaments are open to PGA Professionals of the section and their invited amateur club and course members.
