2 Course Changes to note at the moment: 1 - The wet land in front of 1 is now a hazard. We only have Lateral Water Hazards which are marked by red stakes / lines 2 - Out of Bounds in front of the 13 th and all the way down the left hand side of Out of Bounds in the embayment on the 15 th OB are any areas which have been marked with white stakes / white lines Relief for Ball in Water Hazard It is a question of fact whether a ball that has not been found after having been struck toward a water hazard is in the hazard. In the absence of knowledge or virtual certainty that a ball struck toward a water hazard, but not found, is in the hazard, the player must proceed under Rule If a ball is found in a water hazard or if it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found is in the water hazard (whether the ball lies in water or not), the player may under penalty of one stroke: a. Proceed under the stroke and distance provision of Rule 27-1 by playing a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5); or b. Drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind the water hazard the ball may be dropped; or c. As additional options available only if the ball last crossed the margin of a lateral water hazard, drop a ball outside the water hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than (i) the point where the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard or (ii) a point on the opposite margin of the water hazard equidistant from the hole. When proceeding under this Rule, the player may lift and clean his ball or substitute a ball. b. Ball Out of Bounds If a ball is out of bounds, the player must play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5).

3 New Score Card Scanner System Please see above correct way to fill in cards, please take some time to go through it. You need to make a cross in every box and complete left and middle column. If you make a mistake please cross the whole box out and make a cross in correct box so please don t take a rubber or scribble all over otherwise the system won t pick it up and then we will have to still do it manually!! PLEASE REMEMBER TO MAKE X MARKS WHEN FILLING IN YOUR SCORE CARDS!!!

5 Golf Tip of the Week Arm Rotation Golf Drill Extension & Rotation In The Golf Swing How To Develop A Great Golf Swing Part 6 In the previous lesson we looked at the impact position. Immediately after impact, golf coaches will talk about correct extension and forearm rotation through the golf ball Even though I ve added this lesson after the impact lesson, rotation of your forearms and hands begins just before you make contact with the golf ball and doesn t finish until sometime after impact. This dynamic rotation through the ball generates a lot of extra power power that many club-level players are missing out on. Lack of extension in the arms (a feeling of throwing the club down the target line) is also something that I see in many amateur golfers. Lack of extension can cause you to pull-hook shots to the left (for the right handed golfer) or start the ball left, carving across it (also known as a wicked slice!). Immediately after impact with the golf ball, you should feel as though the golf club extends right down the line of your target. Imagine the club is very heavy and how that would straighten and extend your arms away rather than them buckling and wrapping around your body. As your body continues its turn through and beyond the impact position, maintain your spine angle to avoid lifting out of the shot too early (a common cause of slice shots). To help with this, focus on your chest keeping it pointing down towards where the ball was for as long as possible. As you extend your arms, there will also be a natural rolling or rotation of the forearms and hands. You should feel your forearms starting to rotate at around the hip level on the downswing and they should continue to rotate through to the hip level of your follow through. At this point you should see the right hand is on top of your left (vice versa for left-handed golfers) and the badge on your glove should be facing the ground. Take your grip on the golf club as normal but then slide your bottom hand (right hand for the right handed golfer) down the club so it s gripping the club shaft one hand s width below the bottom of the grip. Make a shortened backswing making sure the left arm stays straight and then swing through to a follow through position and hold. In that completed position both arms should be straight and fully extended. You will notice a very aggressive crossover or rotation of the hands during the swing. The rotation is exaggerated in this drill because the right hand (which is gripping right down the shaft) has to travel much further, and so much faster, than the left hand. Make half a dozen swings with your hands split like this and then slide your bottom hand up a few inches. Make some more swings replicating that rotational feeling. Repeat the process each time sliding your right hand up the club until you are taking a normal grip.
