2 Dear Friends, It is my great pleasure to invite you to the EMBERS 9 th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on July 13, 2017, at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course. Thanks to generous partners, last year s golf tournament raised over $38,000 in support of EMBERS employment and self-employment programs. This year, we are hoping to surpass that amount and raise even more funds to help people facing barriers to work lead productive lives. As you may know, EMBERS was founded in 2001 as a charitable organization with a vision to create economic and employment opportunities to people living on low incomes. Every year, EMBERS helps over a thousand people get back on their feet by employing them through our social enterprise EMBERS Staffing Solutions or supporting them to start or run a small business through EMBERS Ventures. With these programs, we change our community through the power of work, helping people build stronger, healthier lives. In the past year, EMBERS Staffing Solutions created employment for 1400 workers, while EMBERS Ventures paired 50 Vancouverbased low income entrepreneurs with mentors to help them grow their businesses. For our amazing track record and social impact in changing lives we have been recognized nationally and provincially as a top performing social enterprise!
