2 We started our Italian Golf Tours in 2008, and every year they have become more and more successful. It is my pleasure to invite you to join our 2018 Italy Tour of Rome, Tuscany and Lake Garda. This will be the 5th year in a row we have organized a golf tour to Italy and it will be our 9th Italian Golf Tour overall. We have created a new and exciting itinerary which will bring you to discover places that you thought only existed in your dreams. Games of golf every day, shopping, eating, art and history all come together in this 15-day adventure with a difference - our experience and our passion. Australian Golf Tours is the newly formed travel arm of Australian Golf Schools with Australian Golf Schools first golfing tour being to the British Open in After watching Tom Watson win The Open that year the tour proceeded on to play Carnoustie, St Andrews, Royal Troon, Turnberry, Royal Birkdale & Royal Lytham & St Annes. In the following years, Australian Golf Schools has continued to take clients to many exciting and exotic places. We started our tours to Italy in 2008 and have been going ever since. I was the National Coach of Italy many years ago, and my contacts in the Italian Golf World are many and varied. The current crop of Italian players on the world tour are being coached by my former pupils and they still ask for advice. Shopping, eating, art and history all come together from a tourist s perspective on this wonderful tour. If you love Italy, then you will love playing golf in Italy even more. Golf in Italy is normally very exclusive and always first class. There will be matches against the members at some of the golf clubs and an introduction to slices of Italian life not normally seen by the tourist. For golfers or seasoned tourists this sounds like a trip not to be missed. Non-golfers are most welcome. From previous experience, we have maximized the amount of golf available but it is not compulsory to play every day and there will be obvious opportunities to shop or sightsee as you wish. 3 ITALY ITINERARY DAY ONE Sunday 13 th May You should fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport from where we will pick you up. It is a short transfer to the Sheraton Parco de Medici golf resort only 11 km from the centre of Rome. If you wish you can start your golf tour with a game in the afternoon. In the evening, we ll have a welcoming dinner to introduce the group and to run through the final details of the tour. DAY TWO Monday 14 th May PARCO DI ROMA GOLF CLUB The course at Parco di Roma is a new millennium course that is laid out on rather hilly terrain to the north of the city. From the higher elevations, you can enjoy wonderful panoramas of Rome. The day will continue in the eternal city where we ll have dinner in Trastevere, the area along the Tevere river with many traditional restaurants and the best food in Rome. Evening: Group dinner at Trastevere DAY THREE Tuesday 15 th May GOLF NAZIONALE GOLF CLUB LE QUERCE Formerly known as Golf Club Le Querce, Golf Nazionale is situated around 50 km north west of Rome and, believe me, the trip is worth it. Golf Nazionale opened for play in 1990 and Jim Fazio, nephew of the great George Fazio, designed this beautiful course, which was set up and still is the home of the Italian Golf Federation and where young players are doing their apprenticeships before becoming PGA Teaching Pros. Le Querce hosted the World Cup of Golf in 1991 Evening: Dinner in Rome. DAY FOUR Wednesday 16 th May CIRCOLO GOLF DI ROMA ACQUASANTA Golfers will leave the hotel early in the morning for Acquasanta, the original and very first Italian Golf Club built by the British in 1903 and, until 1961, it was the only golf club in Rome. One of my favourite courses built among the Roman ruins and one of the most traditional and prestigious clubs in the country. Non-golfers will head into Rome for the day. After our round, we will move into central Rome for the evening and walk around classic spots such as the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the fashion road, Via Condotti.

4 ITALY ITINERARY DAY FIVE OLGIATA GOLF CLUB Thursday 17 th May Olgiata was the second golf course built in Rome (1961) and is where Tom and Suzie were based during their time in Italy. It is a secure residential community designed to provide protection from the kidnappers and the Red Brigade in the 70's and 80's and nowadays for the rich and famous. It still has a serious internal security force unlike anything in Australia. We will play a match against the members and losers will pay for dinner. DAY SIX GOLF CLUB CASTIGLION DEL BOSCO Friday 18 th May Castelfalfi seduced me as a slice of history coming gloriously back to life. An 800-year-old Medieval village once owned by the Medici family, it was all but abandoned during the 1960s, then taken over several years ago and transformed into a resort paying homage to the glory of what once was. At the heart of the property is the lovingly restored castle: Castelfalfi s crown jewel, towering over the estate and home to La Rocca restaurant, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Michele Rinaldi (crazy keen golfer). The course in Castelfalfi is one of the most fascinating in terms of landscape and views and one of the most challenging. We play in the morning and will spend the evening and have dinner in San Gimignano. Golf all day at Toscana Resort followed by a Michelin dinner with Michele in the evening. A Tuscan feast in the Tuscany you have seen in all the photos. The group will move north to Toscana Resort Castelfalfi. We ll stop after a couple of hours drive in the Brunello di Montalcino winemaking region to enjoy some really good wine and to play Castiglion del Bosco, a fine golf course in the middle of the Tuscan hillsides designed by Tom Weiskopf. The entire area is the private playground of the Ferragamo family, who restored all the ancient Villas around the course. The afternoon will take us to Castelfalfi in time to check in and freshen up before dinner at the old Rocca di Castelfalfi TOSCANA RESORT CASTELFALFI DAY SEVEN DAY EIGHT DAY NINE Saturday 19 th May Sunday 20 th May Monday 21 st May DAY TEN POGGIO DEI MEDICI Tuesday 22 nd May It is now time to move on to the last stage of our tour: the magnificent Lake Garda. We will leave Castelfalfi early in the morning so we could stop to play Poggio dei Medici, another great course sheltered by the Apennines just half an hour north of Florence. The course was designed by one of Italy s great golfers and good friend of mine Baldovino Dassu. Later in the afternoon we will be back on the road to reach Hotel Villa Cortine on the beautiful Lake Garda.

5 ITALY ITINERARY DAY ELEVEN CHERVO GOLF SAN VIGILIO Wednesday 23 rd May DAY THIRTEEN GARDAGOLF COUNTRY CLUB Friday 25 th May The group will play at Chervo Golf San Vigilio, a beautiful and modern 27-hole golf resort designed by German architect Kurt Rossknecht in The resort is situated on the south side of Lake Garda, just 15 minutes from our Hotel, in a beautiful countryside area surrounded by gentle hills and vineyards. The area is very famous for a unique type of wine, the Lugana. After the game the group will have lunch and a taste experience of this very popular wine in one of the best wine cellars in Lake Garda. DAY TWELVE VERONA GOLF CLUB Thursday 24 th May Verona is a name that is known all over the world as one of the iconic and historical cities in Italy and surprise, there is also a beautiful and enjoyable golf course. Verona Golf Club is just 10 minutes west of the city and it is a traditional member s 18 holes course. It lies on the Custoza hills and it s layout is quite variable. Holes can be very short and narrow or long with wide fairways. After a game in the morning we will then enjoy the afternoon in Verona, the town of Romeo & Juliet. Verona is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. Lake Garda is a very popular attraction and a great holiday location for tourists coming from all over Europe. It changes completely from the north part, near the Alps where the lake is surrounded by cliffs and mountains, to the south side, where the lake is wider and offers amazing panoramas. Gardagolf is a great 27-hole golf course, one of my favourites in the lake area. It is set on the west side of the lake on top of a hill and offers golfers a spectacular view. The club hosted the Italian Open in 1997 and DAY FOURTEEN ARZAGA GOLF CLUB Saturday 26 th May Arzaga Golf Club is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Garda area. The resort has 27 holes and it always impresses every golfer for the excellent maintenance and the huge bunkers all around the fairways. The design is shared by Jack Nicklaus, who designed 18 holes and Gary Player who designed a third course of 9 holes. After the game, we will enjoy a nice afternoon in Desenzano, also known as the lifestyle capital of Lake Garda, with all the bars and so many nice spots by the lake where we can relax with a traditional Italian Aperitivo DAY FIFTEEN Sunday 27 th May Following breakfast, it is time to commence your journey home.

A deposit of Aus$2000 per person is to accompany the booking form. The final non-refundable payment is due on April 1st, The final payment will be for the full tour price in $AUS using the exchange rate on that date. The deposit will then be deducted from this to give the balance owing. No refunds are available after this date. The deposit is fully refundable if cancelled before Full payment due date of April 1st, A payment plan is available with Aus$2000 deposit per person initially. Then Aus$3000 payments per person on the 1 st January 1 st February and 1 st of March with the balance due on 1 st April using the exchange rate on that day. Please be advised that refunds do not apply if you choose not to play due to bad weather. If the golf club closes its course due to heavy rain or dangerous conditions, then a green fee refund will be issued if the round has not commenced.
