1 Horse Sale Catalogue GREGGLEA AND ALAMAR CLYDESDALE PRODUCTION SALE Gregglea Clydesdales is once again offering up a tremendous selection of Clydesdale horses for auction. There are approximately 30 horses, ranging from broodmares and foals, stallions, geldings and mares of all ages. Some names to look for are Old Park Holly, Gentle Giant HC Isaac, and Deighton Dominator 2yr old mares, Dominatrix and Lady. With many broodmares, the herd grows significantly each year, but the barn stays the same size. Therefore it is time to reduce the herd back to a normal size. We are proud of our breeding program and the stock we have around. The depth of quality, confirmation, size, and style has been proven through many top place finishes during the show season. One of the goals of Alamar Acres has been to accumulate 4-5 Pinnacle Lucky Strike offspring with various other genetic packages and have a production sale. We are currently offering, as part of this production sale, horses ranging from a superb 12 year old brood mare, ( Collessie Emma ) to a weanling colt out of Littleward Elspeth. Kendra is off to college, Mary Ann is a new Grandma, and the barns will hold no more!! It is time to sell a few horses and make room to get everything in the barn this winter. Our motto has always been "Pedigree to Burn, Confirmation to Show, and Quality to Breed". Don t miss this opportunity to acquire one of these select animals. They are all current on vaccinations and wormed. Vaccinations include EWT, West Nile, Flu, Rhino as well as Pneumabort K for the mares in foal at months of their pregnancy if they have achieved that term. Worming at Alamar is done with a daily wormer. All horses are accustomed to grass pasture for hours per day and 100% grass hay. Soaked beet pulp and oats are the basic grains fed with added mineral and soybean oil as needed. Tie or box stalls are acceptable for these horses as they are accustomed to either. None of these horses have had long lasting injuries or illnesses that would be concerning to their long term health or life expectancy. These horses are selling as is, but we are not aware of any problems that have not been stated in their resumes. We have striven to maintain and enhance genetic diversity and build better pedigrees with each passing generation of horses, and hopefully an intense study of the included pedigrees will highlight this thought process. Lilly is a 3 year old filly that we purchased from the Eric & Lisa Bowens last year. A Lucky Strike daughter that is big, hitchy, and beautifully colored. When we saw Lilly we wanted her due to her size and conformation. She needs to be part of this production sale as she is a great representation of what Lucky Strike is putting on the ground. Lilly is with Steve Gregg being broke to drive as well. This filly will hitch well and should work in the wheel as she is big and powerful. A load of pedigree goes with this filly as well. Lilly has depth of pedigree from both of her parents that create a genetic package that is well put together for future breeding potential. Reg. A beautifully colored Lucky Strike daughter. Veronica's dam is the imported mare, Craigluscar Sweet Lavender, who has recently been sold to the Desharnais family. Lavender is a Cut Above daughter that did very well for us as a brood mare. Veronica is a beautiful 3 year old filly that is currently with Steve Gregg being broke to drive. Veronica has tremendous pedigree and conformation that will work in anyone s hitch or brood mare program. She is an easy keeper with a wonderful disposition. Veronica has a slight overbite that has never affected her eating or condition. She has corrected greatly as her adult teeth replace her baby teeth. This filly should be floated every year as she ridges easily but no long term conditioning or health issues are expected with this condition. Gabby is a three year old filly by Lucky Strike out of a deceased mare that was one of Bill Muir s last registered offspring. We bought Gabby s granddam ( Ellie ) from Bill Muir before he died, in foal to Sir Maverick. The resulting foal ( Legacy ) was raised at Alamar and bred to Lucky Strike. This cross was a tremendous success, but unfortunately Legacy died shortly after she foaled Gabby. Gabby was an orphaned foal that quickly became a household pet. This filly has grown to an unbelievable size and filled out beautifully. You really need to see, stand next too, and observe Gabby to appreciate her beauty and size. Not only is she big, but she is very well put together and has the Lucky Strike conformation, foot size, and athletic ability. This is one filly that amazes us as we bottle fed her at the start and have since turned her over to Steve Gregg to begin her show / hitch career. Steve has done a tremendous job of bringing her along and developing her full potential. We struggle to sell Gabby but we hope the Clyde world will appreciate and use this Lucky Strike daughter to her fullest potential. She has been an All Canadian, All American, 1st place cart mare, 1st place team of mares, and all the way up through the six. She has been driven in all positions of the hitches. This is tremendous all around mare that should not be passed by! She won the National Clydesdale Show as a yearling and 3 year old. Won the All-Breed Mare Cart at the Rockton World s Fair last fall. Cheyenne is a wheel mare prospect that shouldn t be overlooked by anyone serious about hitching mares. Cheyenne s pedigree is deep on both sides. The diversity of this genetic combination will provide someone great breeding potential in the future. Faith has a pedigree that is tough to beat as she goes back to Live Oak Commander and Maple Stone Stuart Maxton. The deeper you dig into this filly s pedigree, the more impressive it is. As this filly ages, we are getting more excited about her potential as she stretches up and fills out. Faith moves nicely and has a snappy attitude that should transmit into a great hitch horse attitude. Faith has depth of pedigree to complement any brood mare program as well. Reg. We are excited by what we see in this colt and his half siblings by Hercules at home. Rosco s dam, Littleward Elspeth, needs no introduction or accolades. A look over the results of All-American / All Canadian from the last 5 years will highlight what Elspeth has been accomplishing. Rosco was a big foal at birth and has never looked back. He has good color and great conformation with athletic ability. A pretty picture as he trots across pasture, Rosco is a great prospect for breeding or hitching. Heavy enough bone to be a breeding stallion, with a hitchy neck set if one wants to hitch. We are impressed with Dorie as she is a beautiful stylish mare with a wealth of pedigree. She will make a great addition to somebody s brood mare herd. Dorie has been broke to drive, and Kendra drove her consistently for roughly a year, but she has not been driven recently. Dorie comes from the Charles Carrick breeding program that has proven superb over the years. Dorie is selling open as we checked her in foal for a Feb 2013 foal but she did turn up empty in June. When our vet ultra-sounded Dorie in June, he encouraged us to breed her this season yet as she was clean and looked good, but we are reluctant to breed past May 31st due to hot temperatures in our location late in the spring.
