Firearms *************************************************************************** GENERAL INFORMATION SHEET FOR MOZAMBIQUE It is possible to hire firearms, however we recommend clients to bring their own rifles, shotguns and ammunition. Clients hiring weapons will be charged $40 per day, regardless of calibre, make and if he or she actually fires the weapon or not. This does not include ammunition which will be charged separately. In Mozambique you are required to send the operator your rifle details at least two months before your safari is due to commence. A Mozambican gun permit is then processed at the fee of $250 per weapon and you will need to have this permit on you at your first port of entry into Mozambique. A maximum allowance of two rifles and one shotgun with 40 rounds per weapon is allowed into Mozambique. For dangerous game such as elephant, buffalo and lion, calibre s of.375 or bigger must be used. For soft skinned animals, any weapon in the 7mm or.38/.300 range may be used. For the heavier calibre weapons we prefer a mixture of solid and soft nosed ammunition whilst just soft nosed bullets are preferred for the lighter calibre weapons. Trophy bonded, Swift A-Frame or Barnes X are good choices.

2 Travel With Rifles Clients who transit through Johannesburg, South Africa on their way to us will have to complete firearms forms for South Africa. Anne s cellphone number is Weather The Summer months are from September to April with day time temperatures ranging from degrees F in our hunting areas. The Winter months are from May to August with day time temperatures ranging from degrees F. Our rains normally start in the middle of November and end in March. What To Pack The following list is only a general guideline of what to bring on safari. Please remember laundry is done on a daily basis. Four sets of brown, green or dark khaki lightweight safari outfits. A soft comfortable hat. Good walking boots that are quiet and worn in. A sweater and windproof jacket for the cool early mornings and evenings. Cameras. Convertor. Binoculars. A sharp knife. A flashlight with batteries. When chartering an aircraft, soft bags are preferred as opposed to hard cases. It is advisable to attach cable ties to your bags after inspection at airports, this way preventing any theft in transit. Cost of Charter from Tete to Tandikwe - $1000 one way / plane. Cost of Charter from Beira to C12 - $1500 one way / plane. Staff Gratuities If clients would like to give gratuities to the staff please bring some small denominations in cash. Transport Clients will be met at the nearest airport to travel by transfer vehicle or charter aircraft to their hunting area. During the time of any safari it is often necessary to move hunters from one area to another. The distances could be great and are either done by road or air charter. Days in transit from one hunting area to another are considered as hunting days and should a hunter, in order to

3 save time, request a chartered aircraft, this will be at his or her own expense. Cost of Transfer from Tete to Tandikwe Camp - $600 one way for the vehicle. Cost of Transfer from C11/C12 to Tandikwe Camp - $400 one way for the vehicle. Cost of Transfer from Chimoio to Tandikwe Camp - $400 one way for the vehicle. Cost of Transfer from Tandikwe Camp to Mokore Camp - $600 one way for the vehicle. Cost of Transfer from Beira to Tandikwe Camp - $500 one way for the vehicle. Health Requirements Yellow fever vaccination is required to enter Mozambique which you can organise through your local GP. It is imperative that all clients take malaria prophylactics as Mozambique is a Malaria area. Please remember that we are hundreds of miles from even the most basic pharmacies, so please bring an adequate supply of any medication you are on. Please check with your doctor what other medication he might recommend for Mozambique. Items Included in Daily Rate The service of a Professional Hunter(s) as agreed upon at the time of booking. The service of gun bearers, trackers, field and camp assistants, cooks and skinners. The use of 4-wheel drive safari vehicles. Full accommodation, which includes daily laundry, all foods, alcoholic beverages and sodas. Items NOT included in Daily Rate Trophy fees payable for animals killed or wounded. Hunting permits & rifle permits. Taxidermy fees (this also means dip & pack). Weapons and ammunition. Transport to the first hunting area and from the last hunting area. All charter flights. Gratuities to staff. 10% Tax on daily rates in Mozambique only. Medical Insurance. Bag Limits As we work to a very strict quota system, hunters must advise us well in advance as to which animals they wish to hunt and in what priority. Payment 50% of the total daily rate is required to confirm the booking of a safari. Should a client wish to cancel his safari the following will apply: If cancelled 180 days or more prior to the commencement of the safari, 90% of the

4 deposit paid will be returned. If cancelled days prior to commencement of the safari, the client will be eligible to 50% of the deposit paid. If cancelled 0-89 days prior to commencement of the safari, clients will forfeit the total deposit paid. The balance of the daily rates needs to be paid 30 days before the safari is due to commence. The trophy fees for the animals that are killed or wounded are paid on completion of the safari. Daily rates will not be subject to change once the full deposit is paid. However trophy fees are subject to change and will be the trophy fee quoted for the year in which the safari takes place as per our brochure. Liability Form Any safari activity is potentially hazardous and it is essential that all lawful directions and advice of the safari operator be followed. Mokore Safaris accepts no responsibility for any illness, accident or loss whatsoever incurred in the course of the safari or for any expense arising from such illness, accident or loss. Please find the Liability Form attached for you to sign and scan back to me as soon as possible. Hunting Licences / Area Permits With regards to your Mozambique Gun & Hunting License please can you as the HUNTER ONLY, send me the following by (Scanned in colour if possible); Mozambique Hunting Licence - $350 Per Licence A scanned copy of your valid Passport (The page with your name etc on it). A scanned copy of a Passport sized photo. Mozambique Rifle Licence - $250 per Rifle Number of rifles you will be bringing to Mozambique (PLEASE NOTE A MAXIMUM OF 2 RIFLES AND ONE SHOTGUN ARE ALLOWED ONLY PER PERSON.) Make, Calibre, Serial number of your rifles Number of bullets per rifle - this has to be an exact amount please. PLEASE NOTE A MAXIMUM OF 40 BULLETS PER RIFLE IS ALLOWED INTO MOZAMBIQUE. Visa Applications This first link gives you the details of the Embassy in the USA:-

5 1. Submit an original passport, valid for at least 6 months from date of submission and have at least 1 blank page for a visa stamp (amendment pages are not acceptable). 2. Fill out the visa application form Submit 1 passport-sized photograph or for first-time applicants or those who had visas issued before August 1998, 2 passport-sized photographs. 4. Include a self-addressed registered or pre-paid air bill (FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS Priority mail with tracking number ONLY) if processed visas are to be returned by mail or courier. 5. Payments must be made by money order (UNITED STATES OR CANADIAN DOLLARS ONLY), payable to the Embassy of Mozambique. 6. No personal checks or cash will be accepted. 7. The fee is non-refundable irrespective of the outcome of the application or in case of withdrawal of the application. 8. No fee is required for official and diplomatic passports, but a diplomatic note is required. PLEASE SEND THE ABOVE THROUGH TO ME AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE SO THAT I CAN PROCESS YOUR PERMITS. THE PAYMENT FOR YOUR PERMITS CAN BE SORTED OUT AT THE END OF YOUR SAFARI. WE WILL ADD IT TO YOUR FINAL BILL. Filming If you would like to have your safari filmed and edited by a professional cameraman, we do offer this service. For any safaris that take place in Tandikwe camp this will be $100 per day. If you would like an edited DVD, this will be an extra $500 on top. For any safaris that take place in other camps, the daily rate for the cameraman is $150 per day. Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you would like this service so that the cameraman can be booked and ready for you safari. A DVD with raw footage is $50. Global Rescue We recommend Global Rescue as an international medical air rescue cover and travel insurance. Please go to their website if you would like to

7 register your travel insurance with Global Rescue. We strongly suggest that you have some sort of Medical Cover for your Safari. Please find attached the Global Rescue form if you would like to apply through us. Please could you send me your policy number for your Booking Sheet when registered if you book direct with Global Rescue. Africa Sky Guest House If you need accommodation in Johannesburg before flying to Beira or Tete, we suggest AfricaSky. The Plugs are 3 prong in the camp (so same as SA plugs). We do supply all rooms with an SA adaptor, however we still suggest you bring converter for voltage differences as we are 220 Volt. There are charging points for camera s and video recorders. Most modern day chargers accept Volts. Please check that yours does comply or else you will need to bring an converter from 220 Volts to 110 Volts. The plugs in camp are round. You can get these at most airports. Taxidermy Details A reminder to prepare your Taxidermy Details as follows: Name, Address, Telephone Numbers and Address and most importantly your Port of Entry for your Trophies. Emergency Contact Details Could you please send me Emergency Contact Details as follows: Name, Relationship, Cell phone numbers and addresses.

8 Dietary & Drinks Requirements Do you have any dietary or drinks requirements you would like to share with us so that we can get these into camp for your arrival? This includes any allergies etc we may need to know. 10% IVA on Daily Rates Please note that there is a 10% IVA charge on Daily Rates for Mozambique. Dip & Pack Please find attached a copy of the Dip & Pack prices for Trophy Exports Mozambique Enterprises or EMIAC. They will deal with you direct on your trophies and all charges. We field prepare all trophies to client s instructions and deliver them to a local dipping and packing company as above for either dipping and packing and/or mounting.
