The census for 1870, Pella, Wisconsin has Friederick, Wilhelmina, and 3 children, Ida, William and Bertha State Census shows Fred, 5 males, 3 females. The 1880 Census, Pella, Wisconsin shows 7 children, Ida, William, Bertha, Frank, Robert, Albert and Karl State Census shows Fred Erdmann, 6 males, 3 females Census shows 6 children. Robert is child missing. Robert would have been approximately 19. Fred also appears on the state census for 1895, 1885, Jefferson County Land Records show F. Erdmann with property located Sec. 1, Town 8, Range 15, dated His death certificate shows carcinoma of the stomach as cause of death. Contributory cause as "old age". The certificate also shows his parents as Karl Erdmann and Sophia Fulk. A handwritten letter found in the possession of is granddaughter, Alvina Erdmann McBride of Mobile, Alabama reads: Mr... Fritz Erdmann lived to a great old age, and was well known in the city and the county. Mr... Erdmann was very feeble at the time of his death. He was born April 1, 1839 in Strehlowhagan near Naugard in Pommern. He was married in the year of 1867 and his oldest daughter was born in Germany and the other children were born in this country. He came from Germany to Dodge County near Mayville and in the year of 1869 moved to Pella in Shawano County. Mr... Erdmann lived his last old days in the old homestead with is son William until he died. Mr... Erdmann was a learnt cabinet maker and a man who understood his work and he was kept very busy. His wife and children took care of the farm and later worked it. He built houses, bridges and chimneys near Pella in his younger years and was a very hard worker. In the spring nine years ago his wife died. He leaves six children, 32 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. One sister and one brother. He was buried on Sunday evening from the Lutheran Church in Pella. Pastor Schilling conducted the sermon He rests in peace. Obituary: The body of the late Friederick Erdmann was laid to rest last Sunday afternoon after funeral services held in the Pella Lutheran Church. the many people present at the church was evidence of the high esteem in which he and his family are held in the community. Mr... Erdmann was one of the pioneer farmers of Pella locating there in He developed a splendid farm and

Of the seven children six remain to mourn his death and all were present at the funeral except Frank who resides in Alabama and was unable to attend. The surviving children are Mrs... Robert Habeck, Mrs... Herman Wolfe, William, Frank, Albert and Charley. He also leaves an aged brother, William Erdmann and a sister, Caroline Gruetzmacher, 32 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Those from away attending the funeral were Mr... and Mrs... Robert Habeck, Mr... and Mrs.. Charles Erdmann and sons, Mr... and Mrs... John Ludolph, Mr... and Mrs... Frank Kriewald of Shawano; Mrs... Peter Jockey of Birnamwood and many friends from Marion, Belle Plaine and Clintonville. WILL of Fred Erdmann: I, Fred Erdmann, of the Town of Pella in the County of Shawano, State of Wisconsin, being of sound mind and memory, and mindful of the uncertainties of human life, do make, publish, and declare this, my last will and testament, as follows. FIRST: After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses, I give and bequeath to my son Frank Erdmann, the sum of one-thousand dollars ($1,000.00). SECOND: My sons, William Erdmann and Charles Erdmann, have heretofore received their share of my estate and are therefore herein excluded, but it is my wish that my said son William Erdmann, who has received the greatest share of my estate, shall give me a decent and Christian burial at my decease, and defray the expenses thereof. THIRD: All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, of whatever name, title or description, real, personal or mixed, I give, devise and bequeath to my son, Albert Erdmann; my daughter, Bertha Wolfe, nee Erdmann; and my daughter, Ida Habeck, nee Erdmann, to be equally divided between them, share and share alike, except that my one share of bank stock in the Embarrass State Bank of Embarrass, Wisconsin shall not be divided but shall go to my son, Albert Erdmann, and shall be and constitute a part of his one-third share in the residue above mentioned. FOURTH: I hereby constitute and appoint my son, Albert Erdmann, executor of this my last will and testament; and hereby authorize and empower him, the said Albert Erdmann, to compound, compromise, and settle any claim or demand which may be against or in favor of my said estate; and I hereby direct, that my said executor be not required to give bond or security for the faithful performance of said trust. Habeck was born in Germany and came to this country with her family when very young settling in the Town of Pella where she grew to womanhood. The deceased is survived by her husband and three children. The obituary also lists her brothers, Frank Erdmann of Mobile, Alabama, William and Charles of Shawano and Albert, near Clintonville. One sister, Mrs... Herman Wolfe of Shawano. On October 24 this couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary and open house was held for friends and relatives. The Rev. Harold G. Oarsch will officiate. Mr... Erdmann had been ailing some time. He was born July 1867 at Dodge County, the son of Mr... and Mrs... Friederick Erdmann. On April 18,1897 he married Marie Braun at Clintonville, Wisconsin. The couple operated a farm at Pella until about 23 years ago when they moved to Shawano. Mr.. Erdmann worked for the Shawano Lumber Company and the Wallrich Lumber Company. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Louis and Clarence of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two daughters Mrs.. William (Alma) Gruetzmacher of Green Bay, Mrs.. Arlin (Florence) Buide, Green Bay. Other survivors are one brother, Charles of Shawano, one sister, Mrs... Bertha Wolfe, Shawano and 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Charles Erdmann of Shawano, 13 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Notes for Franz Freiderick ERDMANN: Franz Friederick and Augusta Louise came to Mobile from Wittenberg, Wisconsin. approximately 1907 with 5 other families, Teals, Neitzke, Kinsler, Grallap and Bruce. Eventually the 5 families went back to Wisconsin leaving the Erdmann s here in Mobile. Franz had a blacksmith shop at the Loop in Mobile for about 10 years. He was also a good carpenter. They originally came to Mobile to farm but did not know how in this climate. Franz appears on the City Directory as: Erdmann, Frank F., Mach A Buerger, h Government Rd. After establishing themselves in Mobile this family went back to Wisconsin one time only in A write up in the Shawano Leader Newspaper is titled "Erdmann Family Hold Reunion". It was held at the County Park at Shawano, Wisconsin. "Dinner and supper was served and a social time was enjoyed". Those present were: Mr... and Mrs...
