1 2016 EVENTS CALENDAR I thought I would post some dates I have already collected for my calendar in 2016, it is by no means comprehensive but will give some of you an idea of what s on out there. I will not be doing all these events and some dates do clash but for the people who moan that there is nothing to ride then have a look at the following. Nigel Heath March 27th Woodhouse Hare & Hound. ACU Modern H&H in Great Ayton N Yorks, with new for this year, a Vinduro class. So this will incorporate the first round of the VinduroUK Championship, the usual Classes apply, A, B,C and D, Evo and Super Evo. The XC Enduro Club who are running these H&H events are putting in a class for us, and it s us who will work out the points for our championship, not XC Enduro. safely. April 10th Corrinium Enduro in Gloucestershire. ACU Timecard Enduro set in beautiful country park with the start area next to the Polo Field??? Modern event but really does suit Vinduro bikes as the going is very friendly. Downside is rear tyre choice is Trial only but after 5 mins you forget you are riding on one. Clip on YouTube with 490 Maico. Ridden this the last two years now and can be recommended for old bikes. 17th Midland Classic. AMCA Twinshock only H&H at Booth Farm Buxton. Runs for an hour then an hour break then runs for another hour. Very rideable course but not usually very long, suitable for all level of riders and old bikes. You need to join the club and book in early. 17th Masham Hare & Hound. ACU Modern H&H in N Yorks, 2 or 3 hours long with no break, can be done on an old bike but there will be plenty of fast lads on new bikes. Did this a couple of years ago on the Husky and it was good fun, they might run a Vinduro class if enough interest. MAY 1st Woodhouse Hare &Hound. They might run a Vinduro class if enough interest. 21st Caio Enduro in Wales. ACU Modern timecard event and a round of the ACU Twinshock Championship. Usually held on Saturday with party and presentation Saturday night (camping on the start area). Traditional

2 welsh terrain with wide variety of going and old bike friendly. Easily the best of the ACU Twinshock Championship events. 22nd Lee Bridge Midland Classic AMCA Twinshock I think this is a new bit of land so no details as yet. Will probably follow the usual format that these guys are good at. 29th Thorpe Hare & Hounds. ACU Modern H&H in Bedale, N Yorks, two and a half hours long with no break, a lovely setting again in the grounds of a country park. This will be round Two of the VinduroUK Championship, the usual Classes apply, A, B,C and D, Evo and Super Evo. Did this a couple of years ago on the old Husky and it was good fun. 28th/29th French Vintage Run. NEW EVENT, although not a competitive event it will be run like one, riders going off in small numbers each minute and all the route will be marked. Being organised by our good friend Fabrice who has helped us UK guys with the Auroux entries. JUNE 11/12th Doddington Vintage timecard held over the weekend. This will be rounds 3 and 4 of the Vinduro Championship, both days scored separately. For those of you who have done it no explanation needed, for those who haven't, it is several laps of open hill and moorland going. A very small amount of woodland going and may be part of the special test. Spectacular views to be seen over the Northumberland countryside. Overnight camping is available at the start area. 23/24th Welsh 2 Day. ACU modern timecard event and held on Thurs/Fri. Also a round of the ACU Twinshock Championship. The grand-daddy of all the Welsh events, two long days of riding, one lap per day, all bikes must be road legal as there is a lot of roadwork. Usually about 500 entries which also includes sidecars and generally 25 to 30 Vintage entries. Riders are flagged away from the start area at the Lakeside in the middle of Llandindrod Wells. Doable on an old bike but it must be reliable. If the weather is good it s a cracking event but if raining it can be miserable. One for the bucket list!!! 24/25th Zschopau Germany. Vintage timecard Enduro with bikes up to around Bikes must be road legal with documents. Start area is from the Town Hall with the fuel check in the grounds of the old MZ factory. One of the special tests is on the Ski slopes at the edge of town. Beautiful setting and scenery, very friendly atmosphere and all very rideable terrain on any old bike. 26th Woodhouse Hare & Hound. 3 JULY 2/3rd Ryedale Rally. ACU Big Bike rally with a Vinduro class. All easily rideable on an old bike but beware the Big Rally bikes, you won t believe how fast they can go! Fabulous scenery around the North York moors. Camping overnight is available. 2/3rd King of the Hills. ORPA Twinshock only. Hill climb on the Saturday and H&H on Sunday. Runs for an hour then an hour break then runs for another hour. Very ridable course but not usually very long, suitable for all level of riders and old bikes. Start area is on a campsite so easy to stay overnight. 24th Midland Classic. AMCA Twinshock only H & H at Booth Farm Buxton. Runs for an hour then an hour break then runs for another hour. Very rideable course but not usually very long, suitable for all level of riders and old bikes. You need to join the club and book in early. 31st Woodhouse Hare &Hound. ACU Modern timecard event and a round of the ACU Twinshock Championship. This is a one lap event and uses public roads so bikes must be road legal and reliable. Another event down to the weather, if it s good it s fun, if not it s miserable. Date TBA. Auroux France. Vintage timecard for bikes which must have at least 2 out of the 3 items (Air cooled, Drum Brakes, Twin shocks). Very friendly event with much varied type of going. Steep hills, up and down, forest tracks, farm tracks, grassy fields, moorland, a bit of everything really. Camping available at the start or very near, beer tent and food Saturday night and presentation on the Sunday (and more beer) If you want to do a foreign event, this is the one. 21st Brinks Hare & Hound. ACU Modern Hare and Hound event usually with a class for Vinduro, 2 or 3 hours long with no break, can be done on an old bike but there will be plenty of fast lads on new bikes. Held on the hills above Manchester. If you ve done Pot Shrigley with the Midland Classic boys then think Pot Shrigley on steroids! Doable on an old bike and they have chicken runs around the modern obstacles. It s Manchester so it s wet and boggy but great fun if not raining.

4 SEPTEMBER 4th Thorpe Stubble Cross ACU Modern H&H in Bedale N Yorks, a lovely setting again in the grounds of a country park. This will be round Six of the VinduroUK Championship, the usual Classes apply, A, B, C and D, Evo and Super Evo. For those of you who enjoyed the stubble fields at the Hot Trod you will love this. 17/18th The Hot Trod! The UK s premier Vinduro event bar none! (yes I am biased ). The final two rounds, seven and eight, of the VinduroUK Championship I know it s a long way up north but pencil this in your diary for Take the better half, take the kids, make a weeks holiday out of it, it s a fabulous part of the country with lots to see and do. 24th Midland Classic. Start area is on a campsite so easy to stay overnight. OCTOBER 2nd Normandy Enduro. ACU Modern timecard event and a round of the ACU Twinshock Championship. Held in the southeast of England. I haven t ridden this event so cannot comment. 11th - 16th ISDE Spain. This year for the first time they are planning to run a Vintage class on the last two days. No more specific details than that but it if it happens I want to be there. 21st - 23rd ITDE Elba Italy The highlight of 2015 for me, fabulous event with probably the best organisation of any Enduro, old or modern. Plenty of clips on YouTube and loads of photos on the internet. Needs to be part of a Holiday though to make the best of it. Polly and I will probably have our main Holiday here and take in both the ISDE in Spain and then onto Elba for the ITDE. Want more?... Many of these events you can find riding footage on YouTube, search around the NEEC website and you will see footage of Woodhouse and Thorpe events. I will add to this list as more information comes in as I am sure there are other suitable events for our type of bikes. If you think something should be included let me know. I would also add that there are many modern Hare & Hound events and Fun/Practice days being run around the country where you will be able to ride your old bike. It s always more fun with a few like-minded folk on old bikes with you so if you fancy a go put it on the forum to see if there is any other interest.

5 The Banovallum club out in Lincolnshire run about 8 events a year with a vintage class. Wirrall Off Road in the Northwest and N Wales RideoffroadUK in the Northwest and N Yorks Track and Trail in the Southwest SEEC in the Southeast CTR in South Wales TBEC in South Midlands? Enduroland in Buckinghamshire FastEddy all over the bloody place! Cotswold Enduro Club run a pre-86 class, and their Slow Pete series for Clumben and Sportsmen have straight 2 hour races, and not too intimidating. AMCA licence required. For all you boys north of the border (or close to it) there are a number of Scottish events which some of the VinduroUK lads will be doing and you are welcome to join them.
