3 Art 28P5: ADD after In CP Zones, the maximum speed limit is 50 kph. and in some others limited to 30 kph. This 30 kph zones will be specified in the road book. Art 31P2: CAR/TRUCK MARATHON STAGE The bivouac between stage 7 La Paz/Uyuni and stage 8 Uyuni/Salta will be a marathon bivouac under Working Park system. The Working Park zone is defined by the space included between the zone entry sign, located before the road section arrival TC, at the bivouac s entry, and the zone exit sign, located after the road section start TC, the day of Uyuni/Salta stage. This zone includes the bivouac entry and exit TC, the refuelling zone, the working park itself and the traffic ways. Service operations are allowed between competitors. The refuelling operation will be done within the Working Park zone reserved for this purpose. If a vehicle is unable to move, pushing by a vehicle is allowed by a crew, officials or any other team still in race until the end of the Working Park Zone. In this case, a one-minute penalty will apply. Towing and/or pushing by another vehicle is prohibited within the Working Park. Marking of CAR wheels: there will be no marking of the car UTV truck wheels. Art 31P3 2 b: ADD after the text: Stage 9 Salta-Chilecito: There will be a common point of itinerary for race and service at CP1. The service of race vehicles will be authorised at this point. Refuelling will be prohibited. The time passed with the service will not be deducted from the global time. Art 31P6 1: REPLACE the text: The refuelling in Uyuni will be done with barrils. No member of the team can be present close and/or within this zone. Failure to respect this article will receive penalties up to and including Disqualification. Controls will be done. 5 Art T3P9: ADD after Vehicles must conform to appendix J-FIA, Article 283, articles 7, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. They need to possess a hand fire extinguisher to be installed in the cabin so that the pilot or the co-pilot can reach it having the safety belt buckled up. 6 SURVIVAL EQUIPMENT CAR-TRUCK-SSV COMPETITOR INFORMATION For safety reasons, during stages , the crews will have to mandatorily transport in their vehicle a warm jacket for each person. They will have to present this equipment during the technical verifications at Asunción. GSM TELEPHONE TOUCHSCREEN TABLET GPS WATCH The possession and use of iphones, Smartphones or any other type of device using a GPS application is strictly prohibited even if they have no supplementary mapping / geolocation applications. Tablets as well as GPS watches, or connected watches (ex. Gear, Fit ) are strictly prohibited. Random control checks will be conducted during the entirety of the rally by the triers of fact. These checks will be made either on the vehicles or the competitors. All violations will be sanctioned according to article 25P3 8. MARATHON - ASSISTANCE STAGE 7-8 During the Marathon bivouac between Stage 7 La Paz/Uyuni and Stage 8 Uyuni/Salta, the Assistance crews will receive a time card which will allow the organizers to control their movement. This card, provided to each assistance vehicle, will note the number of passengers in the vehicle. This number is to remain the same just until the arrival to the Tupiza bivouac on January 9, If in the case of force majeure, the number of passengers has been changed, the Competitor must notify the PCO. The assistance crews will have to: Be clocked in at the entry of the Tupiza Assistance Bivouac on Monday January 9 no later than midnight. STAGE The assistances cannot leave the Chilecito bivouac before 8:30 in the morning. Any infringement of this protocol will be sanctioned by a penalty imposed to the assisted vehicle, including exclusion. MARATHON - LOGISTICS Refuelling during the marathon stage at Uyuni will be done with barrels. Each crew must place an order with the Competitors Department no later than December 15, The car and truck crews will sleep in the bivouac with their own means. The Competitors will have the opportunity to leave the bivouac and sleep elsewhere. However, attendance at the briefing and a dinner is compulsory for all competitors returned to the bivouac at the scheduled time of the briefing, under sanction of a 500-euro penalty per person. The time of the briefing is noted on the general TIMING distributed at the verifications. PEROSNAL EFFECTS OF CREWS. ATTENTION!! 7 o o One tent per person Necessary toiletries and clean clothing >> ONE LARGE BAG PER CREW No mechanical parts can be placed in this bag under sanction of penalties up to disqualification. SHARED ROUTE Stage 9 Salta-Chilecito: A shared point of the race itinerary and assistance will occur at CP 1. Assistance vehicles will be authorized at this point. Refuelling will be prohibited. The time spent on assistance will not be taken off from the overall time. RESTITUTION OF VEHICLES At the conclusion of Stage 12 at Rio Cuarto, the Assistance teams are asked to drop off their vehicles at Zárate port before going to Buenos Aires. MEDICAL Due to very high altitudes, the competitors will have to always keep with them their medical prescription for Diamox or any similar medicine, in order to be able to present it during possible controls and justify they are taking this medicine. 7/7 Dakar 2017 / Car-UTV-Truck Regulations Bulletin
