3 Welcome to the 2014 Queensland Speed and Marathon Titles. Coming at the culmination of another great season of ski racing, both locally and across the country, the Qld Titles will no doubt be an example of some of the best speed and competition you are likely to see on a water ski. This year we are welcomed by Sandy Hook Ski Club and greater Bundaberg, for our second year in a row since moving the event from Grafton. In a region that has twice seen the enormity of natural destruction in previous years, their positive attitude and integrity has laid witness to a committed recovery and rebuilding phase. SRQ look forward to seeing the best Bundaberg and the Burnett region has to offer. In support of this great club and area, I urge everyone to get out in the local surrounds and support the community that are supporting you. I would once again like to thank all SRQ members for their continued dedication and commitment to making ski racing in Queensland a viable and enjoyable pastime. With increased family participation, as well as a dedicated junior development program, I believe we have, whilst not in numbers but in passion, one of the strongest breeding and proving grounds for waterski racers in the country. To the committee of SRQ, your unwavering time and effort that is given to not only this event, but our entire season continues to be phenomenal. Thank you for all that you provide to our members. A thanks also needs to go to the committee of the Sandy Hook Ski Club who enthusiastically welcome us to their venue and have provided so much support in the organisation of this weekend.
