Registration fee for NON-MEMBERS is $12.00 / &18.00 family. Entry fee for each aggregate is $8.00 for members / $12.00 for NON members Sub-Juniors (under the age of 12), Juniors (under the age of 15) and Intermediates (under the age of 18) shoot free. AWARDS NMLRA Territorial Championship medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners of each aggregate. Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of each match. GENERAL MATCH PROCEDURES Competitors must enter and shoot aggregates only. Each match target must be fired separately in the course of a single relay (except for any bench matches, which are allowed two consecutive relays). All targets are to be fired as issued - no aiming spots, dots, etc. NMLRA rules are in effect. Competitors entering the Musket, One Gun, Smoothbore, Sighted Smoothbore or Pistol championship must contact the range officer before firing any of the matches. Offhand Championship (Aggregate:Ter. A)- Flintlock or Percussion; one rifle, any metallic sights, offhand, one relay per match. This qualifies for NMLRA Offhand Classification. Practice targets may be purchased but not used as sight Match Y88 25 yards 5 shots Standing Groundhog Y89 25 yards 5 shots Running Deer Y90 50 yards 5 shots Standing Bear Primitive Aggregate - The matches of this aggregate are designed to prove baseline skills in primitive competition. Distances are unknown to competitors. Sighters are not fired and no spotting scopes are allowed. Sights are described in the NMLRA Rulebook under the rules for the Primitive Range. Loading is to be from pouch and horn/flask. These matches may be fired using flint or percussion. Match 1 - Free Trapper - Target is six bull 50 yard target, 5 shots for record, each to be fired from a different position: offhand, kneeling, sitting, prone and cross stick. Match 2 - Hawken - Target is single bull 100 yard target. Min. caliber is.45. Five shots for record, no sighters or spotting. Three shots are to be fired from a chunk log (same used by all competitors; two shots are to fired offhand. Maximum score 50 points.

4 Match 3 - Rifle Frolic - Target is the NMLRA Bottle Silhouette. Six shots are fired for record, all offhand. Scoring values are as follows: nick body-3, center body-5, nick neck-7, center neck-10. A nick is any shot touching but not fully in the Bottle. Maximum score is 60 points. Match 4 - Mountain Man - Maximum score is 100 points, based on six shots, knife and tomahawk throws, and firemaking. Ties are broken on the basis of firemaking time. Part 1 - Split Ball on Ax - one shot, both clay pigeons must be hit and broken to score; value 10 points. Part 2 - Cut Playing Card - One shot, card must be cut cleanly into two pieces in order to score; value 10 pts. Part 3 - Cut Cross Strings - With one shot, both strings must be severed in order to score; value 10 points. Part 4 - Tomahawk Throw - Three throws for score at playing card. One complete turn of hawk is required. Cutting card scores 5 pts; sticking hawk scores one point; bonus for three sticks without ever cutting card, scores one point. Max score is 15 points. Part 5 - Knife Throw - Three throws at playing card for score. One complete turn of knife is required. Cut card scores 5 pts; sticking knife scores 1 point; bonus for three sticks without ever cutting card, scores 1 point. Maximum score is 15 points. Part 6 - Gongs - Three gongs, 10 points per gong, 30 points maximum. Part 7 -Firemaking - Using flint, steel and traditional form of tinder, the competitor makes a fire. The score is determined by the time elapsed from the first strike of the flint and steel until an open flame is seen. Scoring available at match.
