State Pistol Championship August 21, 2016 RANGE LOCATION: Oakdale Gun Club, N 10 th St, Lake Elmo, MN miles east and one mile north of the intersection of I-94 and I-694 between St. Paul, MN, and Hudson, WI. TOURNAMENT TYPE: Outdoor NRA conventional pistol State Championship 2700 match, followed by CMP Service Pistol Excellence-in-Competition (EIC) and NRA Distinguished Revolver matches. TIME: The 3 minute preparation period begins at exactly 8:27 am, rain or shine. Competitors should be at their positions on the line by 8:15 am. The statistical office will open at 7:15 for registration on Sunday. All competitors should be checked in by 8:00 am. RULES: Current NRA & CMP conventional pistol rules will govern throughout the tournament. Use of eye protection, ear protection and empty chamber indicators are required. The NRA will assign a referee. If not, challenges will be decided by a jury made up of range officers. INDIVIDUAL ELIGIBILITY: Open to all competitors. Minnesota residents must be members of the Minnesota Rifle and Revolver Association. New shooters are welcome. The tournament does not require NRA membership, but NRA membership is encouraged. To be Minnesota State Champion, or the recipient of any State Champion class award, a shooter must be both a Minnesota resident and a member of the Minnesota Rifle and Revolver Association. SCORING: All scoring will be done downrange by competitors after each 10-shot string. Competitors are responsible for replacing and repairing targets, and for turning in their completed and signed scorecards at the end of each match fired. Competitors may use official NRA scoring overlays to help determine shot value. There is a $1.00 challenge fee. The use of a plug type scoring device for challenges is limited to the NRA Referee and range officers only (Rule ). Competitors must provide their own clipboard, staple guns, staples, and repair tape or pasters. If a NRA referee is not available, final decisions will be made by a jury made up of the range officers. INDIVIDUAL ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries are limited to one relay of 30 shooters. Priority will be given in order to: 1. Reserved and pre-paid shooters competing in all three courses of fire. 2. Reserved but not prepaid shooters competing in all three courses of fire. 3. Reserved (pre-paid or not) shooters competing in the 22 match only. If there are more than 30 competitors, a 2 nd.22 relay will be scheduled for the.22-only competitors. Such relay would be fired during lunch break. 4. Day of event walk-ons. Reserved entries (entry form attached) with payment must be received by mail by Friday, the day before the match. Calling or ing to reserve a spot without payment needs to happen no later than 6:00 pm by Friday, the day before the match. 2 SQUADDING: Squadding will be on a first come, first served basis. Competitors must check in with the Statistical Office 30 minutes prior to the start of their relay to fill out the entry form, pay and pick up their score cards. Any required NRA and State fees are included in the total fees of the 2700 part of the match. CHALLENGES: A fee of $2.00 will be charged for each challenge assuming the competitor and scorer cannot agree on the score of a shot. Only the Referee and range officials are allowed to use plugs and will be the sole authority for resolving challenges. See NRA rule 16 for the correct procedure. CLASSIFICATION: The NRA classification system will be used in all matches. Individuals who have not been classified will fire in the Master class (Rule 19.7). matches will be Open Division. CATEGORIES AND CLASSES IN MATCHES: Awards be given only in the Civilian class subject to the conditions of the award schedule. Non-Residents and non-mrra members cannot win State Championship awards. Stage 3 10 shots, rapid fire, B8 target, 25 yards, 4 strings, 5 shots in 10 seconds PISTOL: Service Pistol - U.S. Pistol, Caliber.45, M1911 or M1911A1; U.S. Pistol, Caliber 9mm, M9, or the commercial equivalent of the same type and caliber (see Rules ). Triggers must lift 4 lbs. when cocked. Pistols will be inspected for compliance and triggers will be weighed. AMMUNITION: Any safe 45ACP or 9mm hardball ammunition in compliance with Rule 6.6. AWARDS: The top three shooters in an EIC match with a minimum of six eligible Non-Distinguished competitors, or ten total competitors regardless of distinguished status, will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze EIC Match place medals by the CMP. Credit points toward distinguished designation and earned EIC badges will be awarded to qualifying competitors by the CMP/respective military service.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to competitors, age 16 and older, pursuant to Rule 4 of the CMP Competition Rules. Military competitors must also comply with applicable regulations of their respective service. Competitors will be required to certify on their scorecard their eligibility to enter the match. NRA membership is not required. ENTRY FEE: $15.00 paid with cash or check only. PISTOL: Standard Smallbore Pistol: Semi-automatic or revolver with open sights chambered for the.22 caliber long rifle cartridge (see Rule 6.4). AMMUNITION:.22 caliber long rifle cartridge in compliance with Rule AWARDS: Gold, silver and bronze achievement pins will be presented to competitors who's score equals or exceeds the achievement award scores listed in Credit points toward distinguished designation will be awarded according to Table 9 in with a minimum credit score listed in Earned EIC pins and credit points will be awarded to qualifying competitors by the CMP or respective military service.

5 THE NRA DISTINGUISHED REVOLVER COMPETITION Contact: Wally Erikson (952) for information on Distinguished Matches. TIME AND DATE - After the.45 caliber match, approx. 3:30 on Sunday RULES: Current NRA Pistol Rules will govern the match. This match will be conducted per Rule 23, and the arms, ammunition, etc. will be governed by Rule ELIGIBILITY: Open to all competitors who are eligible for NRA Pistol Competition, pursuant to Section 2 of the NRA Pistol Rules. NRA membership is not required. A competitor must have registered and fired in the 2700 match. ENTRY FEE: $15.00 paid with cash, check, and/or current NRA points. ($20 total if shooting both EIC and revolver.) ENTRIES LIMITED: Entries will be limited to one relay of 30 competitors on a first-paid, first-served basis. Advanced registration is recommended. Entry fees must accompany your registration. Distinguished shooters may enter, but priority will be given to Non-Distinguished shooters. There must be at least 5 Non-Distinguished competitors in order to conduct the match. Stage 3 10 shots, rapid fire, B8 target, 25 yards, 4 strings, 5 shots in 10 seconds REVOLVER: Factory manufactured revolver capable of chambering and firing a 158 grain lead round nose or lead semiwadcutter.38 Special cartridges. Triggers must have single and double action capability and must lift 2.5 lbs. when cocked for single action firing. Revolvers will be inspected for compliance and triggers will be weighed. (NRA rule 3.1) AMMUNITION: Any safe.38 caliber round using the 158 grain round nose or Semi-Wadcutter bullet only. Rule 3.1.4(e). AWARDS: Credit points toward distinguished designation and earned Distinguished Revolver badges will be awarded by the NRA to competitors who qualify. ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to any able-bodied citizen of the United States, 16 years of age or older on the date of Match. At least five (5) non-distinguished shooters must compete to award any points.
