Cheaha Pistol Challenge 2017 on Friday-Saturday, 9-10 June This match is open to the public; new or experience shooters are welcome. This match features a 60 shot air pistol, 60 shot 50 meter.22 pistol,.22 pistol 900 aggregate, centerfire pistol 900 aggregate and silhouette pistol events.

2 CMP TALLADEGA MARKSMANSHIP PARK: The CMP began planning construction of the new Talladega Marksmanship Park in 2012 and completed the installation of electronic targets on the range in The Park has a 13,000 sq. foot Club House with classrooms, offices, and ADA compliant restrooms. Containing over 500 acres of the finest public facilities in the nation, competition and practice take place on state of the art electronic targets that allow participants and spectators to view groups and scoring via electronic monitors. Sporting clays, 5-stand, and trap are shot using swipe card technology utilizing fully automated trap machines. CMP COMPETITION CENTER SOUTH: The CMP constructed the new Anniston Competition Center in 2008 and completed the installation of electronic targets on the range in The Center was remodeled in 2016 to up date the common area with classrooms, offices, CMP store and ADA compliant restrooms. The facility features a 20,000 sq. foot state-of-the-art air gun range. The Competition Center has 80 firing points, all equipped with KTS electronic targets. All shots are instantly displayed on monitors beside each shooter and on display screens visible to spectators in the center area of the range. All scoring is

3 controlled by a computer operations center in the middle of the range. Air tanks and CO 2 are available at the range, but please bring your own adapters. KONGSBERG ELECTRONIC TARGETS: All firing will be completed on Kongsberg Electronic Targets (KTS). The KTS system registers each shot and relays the location and score value to a monitor beside each shooter on the firing line. The targets down range will raise and lower for the desired distance from behind the firing line. All target operations, including final scoring, will be controlled from a range center command booth. SAFETY RULES: The use of ECI s (Empty Chamber Indictators) in all pistols is required at all CMP locations. The ECI is a brightly colored safety flag that is inserted into the chamber of the firearm. ECI s provide visual confirmation that firearms are unloaded. ECI s must be inserted after pistols are uncased and when not firing or in preparation period. ECI s will be available for sale on the range for those that do not have them. Range Safety Briefing- A CMP range safety card is mandatory to fire on the CMP Talladega range. Range safety cards are received after taking the safety class at the CMP Park Club House. Classes will be held every morning before the relays begin firing. COMPETITION EVENTS: 60 Shot Air Pistol Course of fire will be unlimited sighters in 15 minutes and 60 record shots in an hour and 15 minutes at 10 meters. This match is fired one handed with air pistols only. Match will be fired in accordance with USA Shooting rules. This match will be fired at the Anniston South Competition Center. Entry fee into this match is $30/Junior fee is $25 60 Shot 50 Meter Pistol Course of fire will be unlimited sighters in 15 minutes and 60 record shots in an hour and 15 minute at 50 meters. This match is fired one handed with.22 caliber pistols only. Match will be fired in accordance with USA Shooting rules with the exception that any sights optics or irons may be used. This match will be fired at the Talladega Marksmanship Park Range 2. Entry fee into this match is $30/Junior fee is $ Aggregate.22 and Centerfire Pistol NRA conventional pistol competition consists of firing slow, timed, and rapid fire. This is done at 50 and 25 yards outdoors. This outdoor match will consist of 20 shots, slow fire at 50 yards (two 10-shot strings, 10 minutes per string), 20 shots, timed fire at 25 yards (four 5-shot strings, 20 seconds per string), 20 shots, rapid fire at 25 yards (four 5-shot strings, 10 seconds per string), and the National Match Course (10-shots slow fire at 50 yards, 10-shots timed fire (two 5-shot strings), and 10-shot strings (two 5-shot strings). This match consists of 90 shots for a possible aggregate total of 900 points. The match will be governed by NRA Conventional pistol rules.

4 This match will be fired at the Talladega Marksmanship Park Range 3. The.22 caliber match must be fired one handed. Juniors under the age of 20 may fire the match two handed. Entry fee into this match is $30/Junior fee is $25 The centerfire match must be fired one handed. Entry fee into this match is $30/Junior fee is $25 Silhouette.22 Pistol Course of fire for this event will be 10 shots at each distance of 40, 50, 60 and 70 yards at metal silhouettes. This match must be fired standing one or two handed with.22 caliber pistols only. Optics or iron sights are allowed. This match will be fired at the Talladega Marksmanship Park Range 5. Entry fee into this match is $15. Competitors may re-enter for a re-shoot for $5 at the Park. The highest score will be counted, and all other scores dropped. BBQ Saturday afternoon the Talladega Marksmanship Park will host a BBQ luncheon for all competitors. Extra tickets can be purchased for $10. The Talladega Marksmanship Park will be open Wednesday and Thursday, 7-8 June, from 10:00am 7:30pm for practice. AWARDS: The following awards will be given for the Air Pistol, 50 Meter, , Centerfire 900 and silhouette matches: High Overall Plaque 2 nd Place Overall Silver Medal 3 rd Place Overall Bronze Medal High Junior Gold Medal High Senior Gold Medal NRA classification awards will be presented as follows for the 50 meter, 900 aggregates and silhouettes matches: 1 st place for 1-5 competitors 1 st and 2 nd place for 6-10 competitors 1 st through 3 rd place for 11+ competitors All matches will be combined together for an overall pistol palooza winner. This winner will receive a plaque. SCORE POSTING: All scores fired will be displayed in the CMP Competitor Tracker results system at as soon as the electronic targets score them. This can be completed prior to arrival or it may be signed at the Marksmanship Center (a notary will be available). You can print the adult liability release form by going to Competitors under the age of 18 must provide a Parent Consent Form completed upon arrival. You can print the Junior Liability Release by going to Competitors must be 10 years or older to compete in matches at the Talladega Marksmanship Park.
