3 Introduction Applies to All 2018 Championships 4-H Shooting Sports competitive events are, first and foremost, conducted as Positive Youth Development and educational events. Shooting Sports is merely the vehicle by which 4-H teaches Life Skills and encourages the Essential Elements of belonging, independence, generosity, and mastery via the application of experiential learning. Competition is one way that 4-H celebrates the youth member's learning experience, and should not be the main objective of any 4-H activity. Alabama 4-H complies with the National 4-H "No Repeat Rule" (ie: once a youth demonstrates mastery of a project by attending its capstone event, he or she may not return as a competitor in that event but are welcome to explore a new project or activity). Coaches should value, teach, promote, and demonstrate safety and education above awards, recognition, and winning. Conduct (from National 4-H Shooting Sports Championship Rules. Applicable to all 4-H State and National shooting sports programs): Tobacco and Alcohol: The use of tobacco/nicotine products and alcoholic beverages by minors at any 4-H event is not permitted. Violation of this policy is grounds for disqualification and dismissal from the 4- H event. Adults may not use tobacco in the presence of youth and alcohol is strictly forbidden. Footwear: All participants are required to wear shoes that completely cover their feet while on the shooting line or when shooting in any 4-H event. Examples of unacceptable footwear include (but are not limited to) flip-flops, sandals, clogs, and bare feet. Behavior and Sportsmanship: All participants, coaches, and spectators are expected to demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship, supporting the objectives and ideals promoted by the 4-H program in general -- and the 4-H Shooting Sports program in particular. Coaches, youth, ACES Staff and spectators are expected to conform to all state 4-H Youth Code of Conduct and Alabama 4-H Volunteer Behavioral Guidelines, Volunteer agreements, and the National 4-H Shooting Sports program code of conduct. Knowledge of Rules and Procedures: Where possible, each of the Alabama SAFE events are associated with the appropriate National Governing Body (NGB). Exceptions to any NGB rule is noted in the synopsis of that particular championship. It is the responsibility of each Coach and participant to read the championship rules, understand the procedures used in each event, and comply with the rules and standards of each event. If you have questions, you are encouraged to clarify any areas of confusion or misunderstanding -- ignorance of the rules in any event does not eliminate their existence. Participants are responsible for knowing the rules of their event and staying within them. All disciplines (Shotgun, Archery, Rifle, Pistol, Hunting Skills) except Western Heritage. Participants attend at invitation of State 4-H Office based on State Championship results. National 4-H Western Heritage Conference: July 31 - August 2, 2018 in Deer Lodge MT. This is not a terminal event, and is an open invitational to all who wish to attend. 4 General Rules Applies to All 2018 Championships Registration: All 2018 SAFE Championships, including Postal Matches, will register through 4HOnline. Registration fees for all championships are nonrefundable. Each championship registration will open approximately 7 weeks before and close 2 weeks before the date of the championship. At least one coach from each team must register through 4HOnline. This will be the contact person concerning the specifics for the matches. Cost: Varies per discipline includes participant fees and event tee-shirt. Late registrants are not guranteed a shirt. Eligibility: 4-H events are open to active members of a chartered Alabama 4-H Club that has experiential learning in regularly scheduled and planned meetings. For the State Championships, membership must be in a discipline-specific 4-H club. Participation is limited to those members who are enrolled in the 4- H program and have been a member for a 90-day minimum. Enrollment dates will be verified using 4HOnline. The Alabama 4-H club year begins on August 1 and ends on July 31. Age eligibility is determined by how old the youth is before January 1 of the Alabama 4-H club year. Check the Alabama 4- H Age and Eligibility Chart to determine the division for 4-H membership. Seniors are participants born from 1999 through Juniors are participants born from 2004 through Teams: Teams will consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four or five participants from the same age division, based on the event of participation. Juniors are 9 to 13 as of January 1, Seniors are 14 to 18 as of January 1, Counties may bring more than one Junior and Senior team as long as they are from separate clubs. To qualify as separate clubs, the clubs must meet and practice at different times, in different places, and be led by different volunteers or coaches. The top scores will determine the team, as indicated in Discipline's rules. A 4-H er may decide to not compete for team awards and only participate individually. This must be determined at on-site check-in. Any individual who participates in the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championship may not participate in that discipline at the State 4-H Championship in subsequent years. Individuals: Individuals may participate in all State 4-H SAFE Championships as long as they meet the eligibility rules. If the winning Senior team chooses not to attend the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championships, the members of that team are still eligible to participate in that discipline's State 4-H SAFE Championships in the future National 4-H Shooting Sports National Competitive Championships: Limited funding up to $2, is provided by the State 4-H Office for teams who opt to go. Winning teams are responsible for the balance of their expenses, and encouraged to engage in fundraising. Funds raised in the name of 4-H can only be used for the 4-H team members, and only one designated Coach per team. Per 4-H policy, all fundraisers must be approved by the County Extension Coordinator of the county in which the team is located. Do not solicit funds outside the county without permission of that County's CEC. Safety: All competitors, coaches and spectators (including small children) must wear eye and ear protection when forward of the ready line. No ear protection is required in BB Gun or Air Rifle. No eye or ear protection is required for Archery, only finger tabs. Any individual may be asked to leave the range at the request of the Match Director, State 4-H SAFE Program Coordinator, that team s Coach, or Range Officers for exhibiting unsafe actions, attitudes, or behaviors. All decisions are final and not subject to protest. This removal is a disqualification. No unauthorized electronic devices will be allowed on the competition ranges, and may result in immediate discualification. Coaching: Once a team has entered the range or field for competition, only team members, range officers, and scorers/judges will be allowed on the range. Coaches must remain behind the range (except BB Gun). No one, including coaches and spectators, can

5 coach, advise, or assist participants once competition has begun UNLESS rules otherwise allow. Unauthorized coaching from behind the range can result in disqualification. Coaches will ensure that their competitors are familiar with range, range procedures, and championship rules. Ignorance of range procedures or championship rules will not be a basis for protest. Range officers will be appointed by the Match Directors. Awards: First, second, and third place Team awards will be given in each age division. Individual awards will be given to the first, second, and third place finishers in each class and age division. Awards will be announced at the end of the respective championships. Code of Conduct: All participants will be expected to follow the 4-H Code of Conduct, which is found on the back of the Youth Consent form. Dress Code: All participants will be expected to follow the 4-H Dress Code. Protests/Challenges: Only 4-H competitors are allowed to protest/challenge their targets. All protest/ challenge monies not returned will go to the State 4-H SAFE Program. Protest fees vary by championship and are listed in the specific championship rules. Postal Match: What is a Postal Match? It's a means by which an absentee 4-H SAFE team or individual s scores may be counted towards state competition, by "mailing in"! All Postal Match participants and one coach must register for the event through 4HOnline. If a team or individual has a compelling reason they can't attend the respective discipline State Championship at the designated venue on the designated dates, the team members can shoot what is called a Postal Match. All eligibility rules apply to Postal Matches. Team members or individuals each shoot rounds strictly following the 4-H rules, under the supervision of an adult range owner or officer who has no affiliation with the 4-H Club (not a relative, close friend, or the 4-H team's coach). Teams must submit requests for postal match participation in writing, by , to the state 4-H SAFE program coordinator and appropriate discipline lead for the particular championship 45 days before the date of the event. This request must contain the following: 1) Submission must be completed by the relevant 4-H Foundation Regional Extension Agent. 2) Subject Line: Postal Match Request. 3) Reason for not attending respective discipline championship. 4) Date and location of postal match. 5) Name and contact information of nonbiased third party scorekeeper H SAFE Championship Postal Match Rules: The person requesting a Postal Match will receive permission or denial by within 7 business days after the request is made. More information may be requested so that an informed decision can be made concerning the participation. Teams or individuals who opt to have a postal match in lieu of attending the respective discipline State 4-H SAFE Championship will be responsible for their own target, ammo, and range fees. The fee to submit scores for the respective discipline State 4-H SAFE Championship will be double the registration fee of that 1. championship per person. 2. Each discipline postal match will strictly follow course of fire for that discipline. For scores to count as team scores, all members must shoot together at the same time and location. Postal Match scores must be supervised and certified by a nonbiased third party scorekeeper. The team's 4-H Coach and anyone associated with the team will not be approved to certify Postal Match scores. 3. The scorekeeper must be approved in advance. Scores must be recorded on standard scorecards. Scorecards will be provided. The scorekeeper must legibly sign each submitted scorecard with the scorekeeper's: name address phone date of postal match start and end times of postal match location of postal match 4. In the event of a tie between an on-site team or individual and postal match teams, the on-site participants will have preference over postal match entries. 5. Postal Match scores must be submitted by two (2) weeks before the date of the State 4-H SAFE Championship that the postal match is for, to the State 4-H SAFE Program Coordinator and respective championship Discipline Lead. 6 Air Rifle 2018 State 4-H SAFE Championship This event is held in conjunction with the State 4-H BB Gun and State 4-H Air Pistol Championships. Date: Saturday, March 17, 2018 Time: Location: 7:30 a.m. (On-site Check-in opens) CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) Range, Anniston, AL Age Divisions: Junior (9 to 13 as of January 1, 2018) Classes: Cost: Senior (14 to 18 as of January 1, 2018) Junior and Senior Sporter Junior and Senior Precision $25 per shooter for one match; event Tee Shirt is included in Registration Fee; $10 for additional BB-Gun or Air Pistol match. $30 for Late Registration, no Tee- Shirt guaranteed for late registrants. Registration fees are non-refundable. All competitors must have a CMP Competitor Number. Go to the CMP website and register free to get one. Registration: All individuals must register through 4HOnline. Registration will open January 29, and closes March 5. Late registration closes March 12th. Teams: Teams will consist of 4 shooters from the same 4-H Club for both Junior and Senior divisions. Teams must be declared at On-Site Registration before any member of the team begins shooting. If a team doesn't have enough Senior members to make a team, then Junior members can be used on the Senior team. Coaches must declare, and these Juniors cannot shoot on a Junior team. Seniors cannot shoot on a Junior team. Relays: There will be two Air Rifle relays. Relay 2 will be at 11 AM, and used only if required. Relay 1 will begin at 8:30 a.m. Coaches and team members must arrive in time to complete on-site check-in. You must be at the designated lane 30 minutes before the start of the relay for a mandatory safety meeting, equipment check, and target distribution. Conduct of the Match: This event will use the current National Standard Three-Position Air Rifle Rules as the guide. Coaches and 4-H ers are expected to be familiar with these rules. Modifications to the rules are stated in this event announcement. This rulebook is available for a nominal fee from the National Three- Position Air Rifle Council, Camp Perry, PO Box 576, Port Clinton, OH Course of Fire: 3 Position Air Rifle 3X20. Twenty shots will be fired in each position (prone, standing, and kneeling). Targets will be placed at 10 meters (33 feet). Shooters will be called to the line 5 minutes before the preparation period to bring equipment to the line. There will be a 8 minute preparation and sighting

7 period for prone and 5 minute prep and sight period for standing and kneeling. At the end of the preparation and sighting period, the competitors will have 20 minutes to complete the prone target, 25 minutes to complete the standing target, and 20 minutes to complete the kneeling target. There will be a 5-minute changeover between positions. Equipment: Teams and individuals will furnish all of their own equipment, including eye protection. Only rifles firing.177 caliber pellets will be allowed. No rifles equipped with scopes will be allowed. Equipment may be checked by match personnel for compliance. Meals: Participants, coaches, and families are encouraged to bring their own snacks, drinks, or picnic lunches. There are several fast-food eateries within a short drive if you choose to send an adult for carryout. Safety: All shooters must wear eye protection and closed toe shoes while on the air rifle ready and firing lines. Failure to wear eye protection will result in a warning followed by disqualification. Eye protection is required by 4-H. Changes to the Program (Match): In the event a change must be made to the program, schedule, or rules to facilitate the overall 4-H program, only those coaches that registered through 4HOnline will be notified by using 4HOnline as the sender. All reasonable effort will be made to avoid a change. Summary of Sporter Air Rifle Equipment/Clothing Rules: Rifles: Only rifles approved by the current CMP Rulebook may be used. All other makes and models of air rifles are not preapproved and must be inspected and approved by the match director before being allowed. Sights: Only sights made for approved air rifles are allowed. Scopes are not allowed in any case. Stocks: Stocks of rifles must be of conventional design and may be adjusted once shooting has started. Clothing: Two loose fitting shirts or sweatshirts may be worn over one t-shirt. The top two shirts may not be tucked into pants. One pair of ordinary pants or jeans may be worn. Skirts are allowed. Only normal low-cut street shoes or athletic shoes with flexible soles may be worn. No boots are allowed. Shoes may not extend above the ankle. Slings are allowed in the prone and kneeling positions. Slings are not allowed in the standing position. Slings may be a maximum of 1.25 inches wide and must be attached to the upper arm on the shooter and to the fore end of the rifle. An ordinary glove or a shooting glove may be used. Gloves that restrict movement of the wrist, such as a golf glove, are not allowed. Note: These are just highlights of Sporter Air Rifle rules. Conduct of the Match: 4-H has elected to follow the rules governing theusa Shooting Provisional Progressive Position Air Pistol Rules ( downloads/ppp_rules.doc) and USA Shooting Air Pistol rules will apply. Course of Fire: Progressive Position Air Pistol, 40 shots. Equipment: Teams will furnish their own equipment, including eye protection. Eye protection must be worn, covering the eyes, at all times on the range by 4-H ers, parents, coaches, or anyone assisting with the program. Only CMP-approved air pistols will be allowed in competition!

9 Assistance: A buddy (coach, parent, leader) will be allowed to spot and load for the shooter during the firing of shots. No other assistance will be allowed. Scoring: Each team should provide one adult representative to be a scorer throughout the match. Experience is not necessary. All inexperienced scorers will be paired with an experienced scorer. Meals: Participants, coaches, and families are encouraged to bring their own snacks, drinks, picnic lunches, or grills. Several fast-food eateries are within a short drive if you choose to send an adult for carry-out. Safety: All shooters, coaches and spectators (including small children) must wear eye protection while on the ranges and/or firing lines. Safety glasses will be available for purchase at on-site registration for $5 each. Cost: $25 Registration Fee per shooter for one match; includes event Tee Shirt. $30 Late Registration; no tee guranteed for late registrants. $10 for additional Air Rifle & Air Pistol matches. Registration fees non-refundable. Registration: All teams and individuals must register through 4HOnline. Registration will open February 2 and closes March 5. Late registration closes March 12th. Teams: A BB-Gun team is five shooters from the same 4-H Club for both Junior and Senior divisions. Teams must be declared prior to the match at On-Site Check In, before any member of the team begins shooting. If a team doesn't have enough Senior members to make a team, Junior members can be used on the Senior team. Coaches must declare, and these Juniors cannot shoot on a Junior team. Seniors cannot shoot on a Junior team. Relays: First BB Gun Relay is at 12:00 pm. A 50-question written test will be given at 11:00 am. All BB Gun participants and Coaches will be expected to be on hand 15 minutes before their relay time for a mandatory Safety Briefing. All reasonable efforts will be made to start the relay on time. Times listed may be adjusted based on registration. The registered coach will be notified if changes are needed. Coaches, teams, and individual shooters will be expected to be ready and in attendance based on this schedule regardless of the actual start time. Course of Fire: 40 shots fired for record. 10 shots in each of the following positions: Prone, Standing, Sitting, and Kneeling (in that order). Competitors will be called to the line and will be given 10 minutes at the beginning of each relay to bring and arrange their equipment at the line and to hang targets. Competitors will be allowed to fire unlimited sighters and all record shots for all positions. The competitor will be given a 3-minute preparation period before shooting for points. 10 minutes will be allowed per position. Range personnel will retrieve the fired targets.

11 Conduct of the Match: 4-H has elected to follow the rules governing The Daisy-GAMO International BB Gun Championship. However, 4-H participants must have a 4-H age of 9 for the current 4-H year to be eligible to compete. Competitors will be given a 10-minute chance to review their targets. Scoring issues should be brought to the attention of the Match Director and/or Rifle Discipline Lead. Coaching: Coaching is allowed per National BB Gun Rule Book. Equipment: Teams will furnish their own equipment, including eye protection. Off hand stands, kneeling rolls and shooting mats are allowed. Only Daisy Model 499 muzzle loading BB guns will be allowed in competition. Equipment is subject to inspection for compliance with competition rules. Assistance: A buddy (coach, parent, or leader) will be allowed to spot and load for the shooter during the firing of shots. No other assistance will be allowed. Scoring & Awards: Scoring is completed using the Orion Scoring System. Scores will be determined by targets and test scores combined. The top 3 teams in the Junior and Senior Divisions will be recognized. In both Junior and Senior categories, the overall top 3 individual scores and top 3 high scores in each position will be awarded medals. Meals: Participants, coaches, and families are encouraged to bring their own snacks, drinks, or picnic lunches. There are several fast-food eateries within a short drive if you choose to send an adult for carryout. Safety: All shooters and coaches must wear eye protection and closed toe shoes while on the ready and firing lines. These funds will be used to support statewide 4-H shotgun programs. Event: The 2018 Alabama State 4-H Shotgun Championship will be held at Red Eagle Skeet & Trap Club in Childersburg, Alabama (skeet and trap) and Selwood Farm in Alpine, Alabama (sporting clays) on Friday, April 13, 2018 and Saturday, April 14, Schedules for shoot times will be ed to the coach that registers through 4HOnline for each team the week before the championship. A mandatory safety video has been placed on Youtube for all team members to view before their arrival at Selwood Farms. Teams will rotate through lunch on Friday and Saturday. Red Eagle will have concessions available for purchase both days. Participants should eat when they have time between rotations. Competition will continue until all teams have completed their scheduled courses of fire and all (if any) shoot-offs are complete. Shoot-offs may be held under lights. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the event on Saturday at Red Eagle. The ranges at Red Eagle Skeet & Trap Club will be open at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 if you wish to come early and familiarize yourselves with the ranges. 13 Equipment: Participants will provide their own shotguns, ammunition (no reloads), and eye and ear protection. Any shotgun 12 gauge or smaller firing a shot charge not to exceed 1-1/8 ounces with shot no larger than US 7-1/2 fine or smaller than US 9 fine at velocities approximating 1,200 feet per second. Each participant should have a means of carrying enough shells (25) to complete a round of fire and they must be able to carry 50 rounds of ammunition at Selwood Farm. All equipment and ammunition will be subject to inspection by range officials before and/or during usage as necessary to ensure safety. Conduct of the Match: Juniors and Seniors will shoot two rounds (50 targets) of trap, two rounds (50 targets) of skeet, and 50 targets of sporting clays. Team Scores: The top four scores will determine the team with the top three scores determining the team score in both Junior and Senior Division. A 4-H'er may decide to not compete for team awards and only participate individually. This must be determined at on-site check in. At Selwood Farms: Transportation to and from the range will be provided for participants. Once at the stations, youth will walk while rotating stations. Carts will be available for parents to rent for $20. 4-H members participating in the State 4-H Shotgun Championship will not be allowed to be transported in carts rented by parents. Rifles should have a magazine capable of holding 5 rounds. If a scope is used, it must be 6X or less or set at that if adjustable. Slings are allowed in all positions but standing. Ammunition: Competitors must provide their own ammunition. Sixty rounds is required, excluding sighting ammunition. No hot loads, like stinger ammunition, are allowed. Allowed Clothing: Shooting jackets, special shooting trousers and shooting boots may not be worn. A maximum of two sweatshirts or soft, pliable shirts may be worn. Regular work or hunting boots may be worn. Special elbow or shoulder pads are not allowed. Shoes must be worn. An ordinary work or sports glove can be used. A special shooting glove is not permitted. Match Equipment: Teams and individuals will furnish all their own equipment. All equipment will be inspected at check-in. All questions must be asked to the match directors. All shooters will use ground quivers (provided) during the FITA Competition. All shooters must have a side or hip quiver during the 3- D Competition. Binoculars will be allowed on the 3-D course. The presence or use of range finders by youth/ parents/spectators at the 3-D course will result in immediate disqualification for any individual involved. Youth are not allowed to have a cell phone on the range or while waiting during the 3-D round. Any youth seen with one will be disqualified. Parents are allowed to have cellular devices, but must keep them on silent or vibrate. Only in emergency situations may they be used in the immediate vicinity of the competitive ranges during active competition. Replacement of equipment: A 4-H coach may provide replacement or additional equipment as needed after obtaining permission from the match director. Coaches may be requested to assist a 4-H er with a situation on the firing line by the match director. There will be 20 minutes given for equipment failure. A 4-H shooter will be allowed to shoot all shots after their equipment is fixed. Range Commands: Control over the range will be through whistle commands. Shooters should not touch arrows. Three Walk forward to score and retrieve your arrows. Four Stop shooting immediately and put your arrows in your quiver. Classes: * Junior (9 to 13 years of age as of January 1, 2018) * Seniors (14 to 18 years of age as of January 1, 2018) Teams: * A team is declared in advance and is either a Junior or a Senior. * A team consists of four competitors. * The age class of the team is determined by the age of the oldest member. * Thus, a senior team could have some individual juniors among its members, who would still also compete as individual juniors.

23 Relays: As many as required with a maximum of 16 shooters in each relay. Rules & Safety: NRA Rifle Silhouette Rules, Jan 2014, unless otherwise noted. Eye protection and ear protection is required for all personnel on the firing line. Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Course of Fire Sighting Stage: None (zero your rifles prior to coming to the competition) Chicken: 2 banks of 5 targets, one shot each, at 40 yards. 2.5 minutes allowed per bank. Pig: 2 banks of 5 targets, one shot each, at 60 yards. 2.5 minutes allowed per bank. Turkey: 2 banks of 5 targets, one shot each, at 77 yards. 2.5 minutes allowed per bank. Ram: 2 banks of 5 targets, one shot each, at 100 yards. 2.5 minutes allowed per bank. * The order of chicken, pig, turkey, and ram targets may vary. * All of the above stages are shot from the standing position, no sling. * Competitors will continue to shoot the left standing target until it falls, regardless of if it is in the first or second bank of silhouettes. Coaching: An assistant is allowed to be on the firing line to assist the shooter in loading and safety concerns. They are not spotters. Awards: Awards will be given for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place in each class for both individual and team. Equipment (Type of Rifles Allowed): Generally, a.22 rimfire rifle weighing no more than 10 pounds 2 ounces, including sights. Scopes are permitted as well as open sights. No laser sights are allowed. Length of barrel and action may not exceed 30. Any weight trigger is allowed as long as the safety officer deems it safe.

24 Ammunition: Competitors must provide their own ammunition. Forty rounds is required. No hot loads, like stinger ammunition, are allowed. Allowed Clothing: Commercial style skeet vests are allowed to be worn. Shooting coats and all gloves are prohibited. Closed toe shoes must be worn. Other Equipment Allowed: Slings may be attached to a rifle but may not be used for support during the competition. Miscellaneous: Bring food and plenty of water. There will be no food vendors on site. Please bring your own lawn chairs and pop up pavilions/tents. Be prepared for any weather, we shoot rain or shine. Late registration is open until May 21. The following requirements will need to be met to participate: 1. Each team will be required to have a designated 4-H rifle coach. 2. Each team should make sure that they are familiar with their equipment and that it is functioning properly before the match. Each team member needs to have his or her own equipment. Sharing of equipment will not be allowed since there is one relay. 3. Time will be dedicated to instructions and to the sighting-in of rifles. However, this time will be limited and rifles should be pre-sighted and students should have a working knowledge of their rifle before the match. 4. Each competitor will be required to have their own assigned rifle and will use the same rifle for all positions and targets. In the event a competitor s rifle malfunctions and becomes unserviceable, another rifle may be substituted. Use of another competitor s rifle will not be permitted. It is intended that each competitor use the same rifle for the entire event and that all competitors have their own assigned rifle. Note: MCGC has smallbore rifles for loan to other teams. However, this requires advanced notification to have the rifles at the match. Contact Perry Mitchell to request loaner rifles. 5. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required. 6. CBIs (Clear Barrel Indicators) or OBIs (Open Bolt Indicators) will be used and required. A piece of weed eater cord placed in the breech end of the barrel is an acceptable CBI/OBI.

Instruction will consist of safety requirements, explaining the range commands, going over the proper loading sequence, and rules. This will be brief but adequate; we do expect coaches to have team members safety conscious upon arrival. Required Individual Equipment: 1. Each team member will need a.22 rifle. Rifles must have metallic sights, either open or peep sights. Scopes are not allowed. 2. Each team member will need a scope for spotting shots. It is not possible to see.22 caliber holes at 50 yards without a spotting scope. For teams without scopes, we will allow coaches to spot for his team shooters. Some scopes may be available to loan. 3. Each team member will need a mat or blanket for the prone position. 4. Each team will need to provide their own ammunition (minimum 100 rounds per competitor). 5. A folding metal chair, stool, or offhand stand will be helpful. 6. Shooting jackets and trousers are allowed. 7. A shooting glove or mitt and sling is recommended. 8. It is recommended that competitors wear long pants and shirts with a minimum of one sweatshirt. Course of Fire: The match will be a standard 3 x 20 Smallbore 3-Position match. There will be one target, NRA A51, for each position. The A51 target has six bulls on it, approximately 6 inches in diameter with scoring rings from 1 to 10. Two bulls are sighter bulls. The competitor will fire 5 shots on each record bull for a total of 20 shot for record in each position. This is a total of 60 shots for record, 20 prone, 20 standing, and 20 kneeling, fired in that order. Competitors may fire unlimited sighters. Time allowed is 30 minutes for prone, 40 minutes for standing, and 30 minutes for kneeling. The targets are set at 50 yards.
