1 Chicago Bears (2-0) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) Saturday, August 29, :30 p.m. CT Paul Brown Stadium (Synthetic) -- 65,515 PRESEASON GAME 2 at BENGALS The Chicago Bears (2-0) will travel to Cincinnati to wrap up their 2015 preseason road slate when they take on the Bengals (1-1) at Paul Brown Stadium on Saturday, August 29 at 6:30 pm CT. The Bears are beginning a new era in 2015 under new general manager Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox. Fox is (.572) in the regular season as a head coach with the Carolina Panthers ( ) and Denver Broncos ( ), leading his teams to six division titles, six double-digit win seasons and seven playoff appearances. In the postseason, Fox has amassed an 8-7 (.533) record as a head coach with three conference championship game appearances leading to two trips to the Super Bowl (XXXVIII with Carolina in 2003 and XLVIII with Denver in 2013). He is one of six coaches in NFL history to lead two different teams to Super Bowl appearances along with Don Shula, Bill Parcells, Dan Reeves, Dick Vermeil and Mike Holmgren. This offseason the Bears added three-time Pro Bowl S Antrel Rolle along with such players as LBs Pernell McPhee, Mason Foster and Sam Acho, DL Jarvis Jenkins and CB Alan Ball on defense and WR Eddie Royal, RB Jacquizz Rodgers, C Will Montgomery and TE Bear Pascoe, offensively. In the NFL Draft the Bears acquired talent on both offense and defense, adding players at the skill positions by selecting WR Kevin White (fi rst round, seventh overall), RB Jeremy Langford (fourth round, 106 th overall), and S Adrian Amos (fi fth round, 142 nd overall), and in the trenches, drafting DL Eddie Goldman (second round, 39 th overall), C Hroniss Grasu (third round, 71 st overall) and T Tayo Fabuluje (sixth round,183 rd overall). Overall, the Bears own an all-time preseason mark of Fox has compiled a (.547) record in the preseason as a head coach. 2 THE HEAD COACHES CHICAGO BEARS John Fox Named the fi fteenth head coach in Chicago Bears history on January 16, 2015, John Fox joined the Bears with 13 years of NFL head coaching experience with the Denver Broncos ( ) and Carolina Panthers ( ). He has compiled a (.572) regular season record, six division titles, six doubledigit win seasons and seven playoff appearances. In the postseason, Fox has amassed an 8-7 (.533) record as a head coach with three conference championship game appearances leading to two trips to the Super Bowl (XXXVIII with Carolina in 2003 and XLVIII with Denver in 2013).Prior to coaching the Panthers, Fox was the defensive coordinator for the N.Y. Giants ( ). In 2000, Fox helped the Giants reach Super Bowl XXXV, including posting the fi rst shutout in a conference title game since Before joining the Giants, was a Rams consultant (1996), defensive coordinator for the Raiders ( ), defensive backs coach for the Chargers ( ) and Steelers ( ), and secondary coach for the USFL s L.A. Express (1985). Fox also coached collegiately at San Diego St. (1978), U.S. International (1979) Boise St. (1980), Long Beach St. (1981), Utah (1982), Kansas (1983), Iowa St. (1984), and Pittsburgh ( ). CINCINNATI BENGALS Marvin Lewis Named the ninth head coach in team history on January 14, 2003, Marvin Lewis is in his 13 th season with the Bengals, the second-longest tenured head coach in the NFL with their current team. Lewis 100 career victories ( regular season; 0-6 playoffs) are the most in franchise history. He has led the team to the postseason in fi ve of the last six years, including four straight. Overall, the Bengals have been to the playoffs on six occasions under Lewis, including division titles in 2005, 2009 and In 2009, Lewis was named the Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year, the fi rst coach to do so in franchise history. Lewis spent seven seasons as an NFL defensive coordinator prior to becoming the head man in Cincinnati, the last of which saw him direct the NFL s fi fth-ranked defense with the Washington Redskins (2002) with the dual role of assistant head coach. His fi rst six years as a defensive coordinator were spent with the Baltimore Ravens, a tenure highlighted by a Super Bowl victory after the 2000 season which saw the Ravens defense set NFL records for fewest points allowed and fewest rushing yards allowed in a 16-game season.
